13 Postdoctoral Fellowships at University of Bremen Applications deadline: 01 April 2014 The University of Bremen, a midsized university with approximately

250 professorships and 19,000 students, offers a broad range of disciplines and competes internationally in top-level research. With its ambitious institutional strategy the university was successful in the national Excellence Initiative as one of only eleven universities in Germany. Funded from its own Central Research Development Fund (CRDF) as well as from the COFUND scheme in the European Framework Program, the University of Bremen invites postdoctoral researchers in the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities to apply for one of 13 Postdoctoral Fellowships Early career postdoctoral researchers are invited to apply for a temporary position for up to two years. Fellows will be enabled to develop an independent research project and to write an application for subsequent third-party funding. Advanced postdoctoral researchers are offered positions for up to four years to conduct independent research. With only a minimum of teaching requirements, these positions allow to carry out ambitious research projects. International / European postdoctoral researchers / non-german residents are encouraged to apply for a two year BREMEN TRAC fellowship in the COFUND scheme. Applicants should have already excelled in their research field. All Fellows can decide freely on their research topic, but should demonstrate that their project fruitfully links up with a research area at the University of Bremen. Fellows will be hosted by a cooperation partner, i.e. an institute of the University of Bremen that will be the prime cooperation partner of these independent postdoc researchers. Postdoctoral fellows will receive a competitive salary and a generous budget for costs directly incurred by the project.
