Typically the internship in Germany is between 3 months to one year depending on the requirement of your program. Internships in Germany give you a chance to expand your network of contacts. You can improve your team working skills, get hands on professional experience. If you are really lucky then internship can open opportunity of job for you.
Types of Internships
The internships which are requirement of your courses are called compulsory internships. Most of the course in Germany needs internship of 6 months. You cannot complete your degree with our compulsory internship. The other type of internship is noncompulsory which is mostly done
Requirements of Internship
Insurance: For internship in Germany valid health insurance is required. It is important to which covers accident or personal accident at work place or not. Internship Agreement: For applying for visa in Karachi Consulate, Isb. Embassy you need Internship agreement. Your company will send this to you, if you are already in Germany then you can use this for anmelden in new city. Knowledge of German: Although you dont require German for visa most of times, but it is highly recommended to do A2 from Goethe in Pakistan. This will give you lot benefit in learning in company. You can learn culture, company structure, and other thing if you know little German. However if you apply for company with German internship then you need proper German level as required by the company.
ZAV If you are in Pakistan , your course must related to the internship somehow. Mostly Germany companies dont give internships to irrelevant people. You also need a permit from the German International Employment Agency "Zentrale Auslands- and Fachvermittlung der Bundesagentur fr Arbeit.

What is the full meaning of IAESTE? IAESTE stands for "International association for the exchange of students for technical experience". In case you are from a country where there is no IAESTE committee and you wish to come to Germany for an internship, ask your employer to contact the DAAD section 514. And you can always become active yourself, find a company and apply! Is a TOEFL test necessary for an IAESTE internship? For many internship programes a language test is required but not necessarily TOEFL but also TestDaF (German) and others. I am currently enrolled in a German University as an Exchange Student. How could the IASTE help me to find internships? You may apply for an internship outside Germany. IAESTE cannot assist you in finding an
internship in Germany. Maybe your German host university has got a Career Service. Go there and ask them if they have some advice for you! How can I volunteer for IAESTE and what tasks do I have to fulfill? We are always looking for volunteers. Please contact the IAESTE committee in your home country. There are many different tasks but mostly its about supporting international students. Do I have to take part in the IAESTE program in order to find an internship in Germany or is it possible to find one by myself? Of course you can become active yourself, search for suitable positions and apply. But inform yourself about "application rules" / formalities first. In Germany they might be different from your home country in terms of cover letter, cv etc.
Can I apply for some funding to get me through the internship for the next 3 months even if I already started with it? Well as you have already started your internship you can no longer apply for funding at a public organization. I'm sorry.
