Unpacking and Setup

Carefully open the boxes that your speakers have arrived in, remove their EPE packaging foam parts and take great care to refrain from touching the diaphragms (as they are very fragile and susceptible to erosion from the oils in the skin).

Connector Cable
Due to the broad market supplied, your new T-300 series speaker(s) shipped without speaker-toamplifier connector cables. If these connector cables are desired for operation please visit our webshop (www.teufelaudio.com) in the accessories area to see our large selection of these audio cables as well as our many other products.

Location Tips
Select a stable, level base. Make sure that the surrounding area in which the speakers will be enjoyed is clean and free from dust or other airborne contaminants Avoid placing the T-300 series near heat sources, or in direct sunlight (UV rays will damage the T-300 over time) Insure that your connector cables are secured in a safe manor so as not to present a trip hazard Do not place heavy objects on either the cables or the speakers in order to prevent damage to units. Refrain from placing unit(s) within cavities such as book shelf spaces or entertainment centers as feedback and/or distortion of signal may result Do not place units in an area that is overly humid, or sees any water buildup (in front of a window etc.) as damage to the speakers will result If your T-300 speakers are to be used to reproduce live sound (spoken word, live instrumental performance) on an occasional or constant basis, the user should insure that the speakers are directionally pointed away from the input (microphone) at all times as damaging feedback may result

The following information concerns an ideal listening room, where the listener is seated in a centralized location that is an adequate distance in front of the speakers (see adjacent graphic) and there are no objects between the listener and speakers (such as furniture or obstructions). Unfortunately not all arrangements lend themselves so easily to an optimum listening environment.

Modern amplifiers offer a variety of possibilities for electronically making up for this setback in venue, and can usually be arranged in such a fashion as to allow the speakers to optimally perform under most circumstances. The following applies: you be the judge of how your system should sound! While we can suggest many different applications and speculate on scenarios, we are aware that every situation is different and no one will know what works better than the end user!

Connecting the Cables

DANGERFailure to follow these directions may present a hazardous situation to the user Arrange the cables so they do not pose a trip hazard. 1. Turn all amplifiers and stereo accessories off. 2. Lay the speaker cables from your amplifier to each T-300 you have selected for your system. 3. Insure that the cable selected is of a double twisted high quality nature and is rated to either meet or exceed the maximum system wattage and amperage. The cross section should amount to at least 2.5mm^2. A terminal with two binding posts is located on the back of each T-300 speaker. 4. On the back binding posts you can connect either a banana plug or directly onto the terminals by unscrewing them (counterclockwise), wrapping the exposed copper end of the cable around the exposed thread of the binding post, and re-tightening the post (clockwise). 5. Split your speaker connector cable on both ends approximately 1 inch, and remove approximately 1/3 of an inch of insulation on each wire therein. Twist the newly exposed copper so that no copper is protruding. 6. Turn the binding post counterclockwise (as stated above) until loose. Run the stripped cable through the hole (or around the post) that is now exposed on the terminal. Return the post back closed. The terminal is now secure. 7. Check for any exposed copper that may pose a threat to improper operation or damage to the system. If any is found, remove the wire and trim as necessary until no copper is exposed any longer after re-inserting the wire. 8. Connect each speaker cable to your amplifier. Consult your amplifier manufacturers specifications as per safely attaching speaker wires to your system (every system is different)

Care and Cleaning

The veneered surfaces of our speakers have a protective surface coat, which eliminates the need for wood polish. You can best remove small deposits of dust or dirt with a smooth leather cloth. If more aggressive cleaning is desired, utilize a damp cloth to rub off stubborn dirt taking great care to insure that no liquid penetrates the speakers themselves. Once the desired level of cleanliness has been achieved, immediately wipe the surfaces dry using a soft cloth and without the application of any pressure. ATTENTIONRISK OF DAMAGE Using improper cleaning materials may damage the delicate surface finish of your T-300 speaker. If possible, use only plain, tepid, water without the addition of cleaning agents. In case of stubborn marks, a very mild soap may be used; however in this case it is advised to test the solution on

an area of your T-300 that is not visible in the event of a reaction that would otherwise cause total discoloration. DO NOT use caustic or chemically abrasive cleaning products to clean your T-300s as damage WILL result!
