1. Assuming that Vashti felt neglected and not rebellious, what would you have done on her situation?

Understanding that this story was happening under Mid-East culture, being the great and official wife of Xerxes (that somewhat had passive political role), if I were Vashti, I would request a legal appealing to his new law. In fact, Vashti chose to quit being queen and there were no more stories about her. Did she go out from royal house? Or was she being exiled? Based on Midrash (history records written by Jewish sages), Vasthi was King Belshazzars daughter of Babylonian who kidnapped by King Darius of Persia. Babylonian kingdom also lost its pride since it was divided into Persia and Media. As a royal princess whose father is murdered by Persia, she had no choice to follow that law and quit as queen (I would do the same). In spite of knowing that Xerxes really loved Vashti, if I were her, I would go somewhere I could be respected as woman, might be to very quiet place and lived with another man. Vashti was beautiful as mentioned in Bible. And also based on Esther 2:1, Xerxess remembrance implies that Vashti was skillful and however lovely in personality. I believe that there were so many men would give more respect to her than Xerxes. 2. If Xerxes was your man, what would you change about his character or about him as a whole? I found some Xerxes bad characters. Xerxes was too greedy with respect and submission, yet Xerxes and his seven wise nobles admitted Vashtis influence upon all women under Xerxes kingdom (verse 17). Vashti was Babylonian princess (who might be rebellious to Persia and Media) and the nobles feared of her passive political role also. Meanwhile, Xerxes was so pleased with her (means that he would grant everything she wanted). Xerxes would protect her with his full-power also. I believe that many nobles realized this potentially-dangerous situation and wanted to depose her. Seeing Vashtis rebellious moving towards Xerxes, they saw it as a great chance to force Xerxes taking her crown off. When the nobles stated their awareness of womens rebellion, Xerxes hastily legalized the new law (without thought about other things and without knowing that Vasthi might be also fear of Xerxes power). At this point, he was very short-thinker and less wise. 3. Knowing that you are a Queen and role model, what would be the main things you would want to project toinspire women During imperial era of Persia and Media on Babylonian kingdom, it would be a help if women support the war passively. If i were Vashti, I would maintain the stabilization of nation by using women power. For example, educating women with skills that needed to support the armies (medication, cooking, sewing, etc.). Women could also be motivated to work with land utilization or livestock. It would maintain the economic condition of nations. Women should be

free from their dependency on men, except in giving birth of future nation. Hence, men could be focused on battle as well as women could take mens role in stabilizing nations. 4. Being the most beautiful woman on Earth (v11) how would you carry or present yourself to both men and women so they know your worth as a person not an object? Although the Queen had passive political impact, Vashti had a strong influence to women (verse 17). But, she was more likely being Xerxes greatness symbol. Of course, if I were Vashti, I would use all chances in political role as Queen. I also would socialize myself as Kings wife with nobles to maintain good political relationship. Showing political impact would more make people recognizing the Queen as person. For being a great woman, I would also work in social working such as volunteer or ambassador. In my opinion, whenever Vashti could do something that noted in peoples heart, it might be boost Queens image as person than as object 5. What were the things that Vashti did wrong? How would you use that to avoid issues and build goodness in your relationship After consumed a lot of alcoholic wine, I take presumption that the king and guests were sexually stimulated and lost their consciousness by the increasing of alcohol in blood. Then, Xerxes invited Vashti to be exhibited in front of all drunken guests. At this point, I just tried to think in Xerxes role. Heres the first idea. The guests were in less consciousness, so that they couldnt see or think or judge clearly. Hence they couldnt see Vasthis weakness or recognize Vashtis face clearly and would admit the beauty of Vashti with no objection, means that the guest would admit Xerxes greatness for more. Assuming that the king wanted to exhibit Vashti as Xerxes reputable property, she should fulfill the invitation for all things (her safety, dignity, pride, etc.) were all right. By this idea, I can say that Vashti was stubborn and arrogant. So, she was wrong. Another idea is also possible. Sexual stimulation (from wine) pushed them to add more sexual object while drunken. Assuming that the king wanted to exhibit Vashti as sexual object, in my opinion, Vashti did a wrong and unwise in making decision. She could make a rejection without showing a rebellious moving, instead of embarrassing the king. For example, Vashti could reject it by inviting the king into more private party. In my opinion, the king would accept that private invitation inasmuch as his love to the queen. I also think why Vashti didnt beg any pardon to Xerxes (or it wasnt written in bible haha). Being humble and apologizing could wisely fix and maintain good relationship. Moreover, as a wife, she should support her husband at all effort.
