La Municipalidad de Limaorganizar durante este ao ms de 400 actividades culturales gratuitas como parte de su designacin como Plaza Mayor de la Cultura

Iberoamericana 2014 por la Unin de Ciudades Capitales Iberoamericanas (UCCI), informaron hoy fuentes oficiales. Las actividades, que incluirn conciertos, festivales, conferencias y espectculos artsticos de diverso tipo, comenzarn el prximo 17 de enero con una gran serenata en la Plaza de Armas por el 479 aniversario de la fundacin de la capital peruana. El gerente de Cultura de Lima, Pedro Pablo Alayza, seal, en una rueda de prensa, que la designacin de la UCCI es "un gran orgullo, que refleja el inters" de la gestin de la alcaldesa, Susana Villarn, de hacer de la cultura un eje prioritario. "Sern doce meses de actividades continuas, pues hemos trabajado mucho para que 2014 sea el ao de la cultura de Lima. Queremos que esta ciudad sea vista en todas partes del mundo, y sobre todo, que el ciudadano limeo sienta orgullo de su ciudad", aadi. Alayza dijo que, para conseguir la designacin, la gestin de Villarn present ante la UCCI tres proyectos culturales que ya fueron puestos en marcha en Lima. Tales proyectos fueron el Programa de Cultura Viva Comunitaria, la propuesta de posicionar a la capital peruana como una plaza para la creacin teatral y la danza, y la necesidad de que el

municipio limeo participe activamente en la recuperacin de los espacios arqueolgicos y precolombinos. "Estas iniciativas nos han hecho merecedores de esta distincin; Lima est posicionndose nuevamente en el continente, por ejemplo, hemos recuperado la Bienal de Fotografa y el Festival de Artes Escnicas", destac. Como un adelanto de las actividades, las autoridades capitalinas sealaron que en la serenata por el aniversario de Lima se presentar un espectculo musical en el que participarn artistas locales como los cantantes Cecilia Barraza y los hermanos Gaitn Castro, el elenco de baile de la coregrafa Vania Masas y los msicos del grupo Kimbaf. Durante enero, designado como "el mes de Lima", tambin se entregar el premio de arquitectura Juan Gunther, y se presentar una muestra en la galera municipal Pancho Fierro, la temporada en la Plazuela de las Artes, festivales de Cultura viva en los parques zonales de la capital y el concurso de msica "Ciudad parlante". Junio ser el "mes de Lima milenaria", julio el "mes patrio", agosto el "mes de las creaciones", septiembre el "mes del rock y la juventud", octubre el "mes de la divinidad y la msica", noviembre el "mes del Fael" (Festival de artes escnicas de Lima) y diciembre el "mes de cultura viva comunitaria".

The Municipality of Lima organized during this year more than 400 free cultural activities as part of its designation as Plaza Mayor de la Cultura Iberoamericana 2014 by American Capital Cities Union (UCCI ) , official sources said today.

The activities, which include concerts, festivals , lectures and artistic performances of various kinds, will begin next January 17 with a serenade at the Plaza de Armas by the 479 anniversary of the founding of the Peruvian capital.

The manager of the Lima Culture , Pedro Pablo Alayza said in a press conference that the designation of the UCCI is " very proud , reflecting the interest " of the management of the mayor, Susana Villar , to make the culture a priority .
