RAINWATER COLLECTION AND STORAGE SYSTEM

The water in our country is scarce resource. With the adequate facilities is possible to use rainwater for toilet flush installation, for cleaning, for watering the garden or filling the pool even during restrictions periods, which is forbidden the use of mouth water for these uses. The usage of our system, contributes with the environmental sustainability, with a significant savings on the water bill. The collected water from the canals, terraces and playgrounds pass through a strainer. The filter prevents of the gravel entry, leaves and other organic solid waste inside the tank, which would initiate a decomposition process inside the tank where can affect the quality of the stored water. Type 1: Tank formed by an integrated manual filter suitable to collect a maximum area of 200m and a mesh aperture of 1mm.

Type 2: Tank formed by an automatic filter suitable to collect rainwater for a maximum area of 150m and a mesh aperture of 1mm. It incorporates an antiturbulence entrance and an overflow system that precludes rodents passage. TANK VOLUME CALCULATION The tanks volume calculation depends on the surface to irrigate, vegetation type, the possibility of using rainwater for filling the pool, the rainfall in each area, the collection surface, etc. Formula for determining the minimum volume of accumulation: V=PxRxS V = Volume of the underground GRP tank for rainwater collection (litres) P = Rainfall amount (from 0.8 to 4.8 litres/day x m depending on rainfall by area) R = Average period of retention in the reservoir (30 to 100 days). S = Collection surface (m) The standard volume range for a family house without a pool goes from 5 to 25 m3 (depending on the surface to irrigate) and if there is a pool, the volume range goes from 15 to 35 m3. INCLUDED EQUIPMENT: Type 1
Powering filter for the rainwater tank: Maximum surface of 200m2. Waste basket. Mesh aperture of 1 mm

Type 2

Tank filter: Maximum surface of 150 m2. Two purification steps: The big dirt is moved by the first sieve to the sewer The fine is separated by the second filter.

Anti-turbulence entrance: Ensures a calm water entrance inside the tank. Prevents the sediment layer from the swirling and brings oxygen to the water.

Overflow with toilet siphon: Bottling water on both sides of the entrance. Avoids the odors entrance into the tank and also make impossible the rodents entrance into the tank.

TOTAL OXIDATION TREATMENT PLANT

The biological total oxidation treatment plant is the ideal equipment for the purification in wastewater generated in restaurants, hotels, campsites and houses. Allow to achieve higher purification than the conventional treatment plants comprised by a septic tank with a biological filter. OPERATION DESCRIPTION The total oxidation compact equipment consists of the following stages-operations: Roughing Required to remove sediments carried by the residual water. Aeration phase Biological oxidation chamber: first compartment The wastewater enters the aeration compartment where the air supply made through diffusers (Type 1) or aerator pump (Type 2). Type 1 - injected air through the porous disks distributed over the horizontal cylinder. This system favours with less agitation the contact of the three active parts: oxygen, microorganisms and organic matter. Type 2 - Inside the compartment there is an injector-waving pump that oxygenises and moves the wastewater avoiding the sedimentation of the material to degrade and microorganisms, homogenizing the environment favouring their interaction.

Decantation phase / sludge recirculating - second compartment After the aeration period, the water goes to the decantation compartment where it comes to rest resulting of the biological sludge precipitation. The accumulated sludge set up at the decanter bottom from where is driven back to in biological reactor using a submersible pump rejoining to the organic matter degradation. Water properly clarified and purified overflows from the top of the decanter where is channeled through the discharge point. The total oxidation treatment plants amply comply with the current legislation in discharge into public waterways set out in Royal Decree 606/2003, the RDL 1/2001 Water Law and applicable technical instruction autonomous sanitation approved by ACA in 20/11/2008.

BIOLOGICAL SEWAGE TREATMENT FOR SMALL COMMUNITIES

Septic tank + biological filter

This cleaning system is the most practical and effective for wastewater treatments in isolated dwellings not connected to sewerage, campgrounds, hotels, restaurants, etc. TADIPOL has a wide catalog of biological treatmentes in flat base vertical format, also called clarifier wells, Imhoff wells or decanters-digestors, also in horitzontal format. SEPTIC TANK The wastewater enters the interior of the septic tank where the suspended matter is decanted and settled to the ground forming an organic sludge, which initiate a process of anaerobic degradation (digestion), which are obtained by simple compounds such as carbon dioxide, methane gas and water. This biological process can decrease the amount of accumulated sludge and contributes with the stabilization and mineralization compaction. The remaining residue essentially consisting of non-biodegradable material is accumulated in the ground of the tank, which must be removed periodically (every 1 to 2 years). The resultant gas formation from the digestion process creates a burble inside the tank that harms the good decantation of suspended solids, so the vertical septic tanks are designed with a bell and internal counter-bell that separates the upper solid decantation compartment from the lower compartment that accumulates the sludge digestion. These deflecting bells allow the passage of airborne particles sedimented to the digestion zone, but prevent the rise of generated bubbles during the sludge digestion up to the decantation zone. In the same way, does not allow the flowing wastewater through the decantation zone get in contact with decomposing sludge digestion zone, which ensures that the purified wastewater exhibits less odor problems. The obtained yield in septic tanks, in both horizontal and vertical formats, is 90% removal of suspended solids and 35% BOD5 reduction. BIO-FILTER The biological filter is the perfect complement to the septic tank, as it gets oxidize the organic pollutants those septic tank has failed to eliminate. Contaminating water from the septic tank is uniformly distributed on the plastic filler (high specific surface) by a distribution system. On the plastic support surface a film of aerobic biological active oxidize and degrade the formed organic matter. The purification performance in domestic water treatment is 85% BOD5 reduction, getting through the combined action of both processes, the compliance of current regulations for discharge to a public waterway, including the UNE-EN ISO 12566, EN 1085 and the Autonomous purification technical instructions approved by the Board of Directors of the ACA on November 20, 2008.

APPLICATIONS For his special design, is possible to separate hold and store oils, greases, soaps and other pollutant substances whose density is lower than water. These compounds act as inhibitors of the biological process for different types of purifying plants. The oily composition forms a layer that involves polluting particles, acting as a barrier that prevents them from coming into contact with the active agents responsible for the purification process. Grease separators also prevents from the obstruction of the drainpipes because of scale grease and detergents. A grease separator installation is particularly necessary in collective kitchens, restaurants, hotels, food industries, laundries or other establishments where the discharge water contains a high percentage of fats and detergents. PROCESS DESCRIPTION Wastewater, still warm, from kitchen and laundry areas penetrates the greace separator, where it is retained for enough time to get cold and release the dissolved fats. Due to the low density, this grease rises to the surface of the tank where it is retained. Maintenance: Remove grease layer accumulated on the surface of the separator every 3-4 months and the sludge retained in the bottom need to be removed once a year.

DECANTERS OR SLUDGE THICKENERS

The wastewater enters the clarifier and descends through the central reassuring bell. When leave there, water comes to rest, allowing the suspended particles to precipitate and accumulate at the ground of the cone, where they are drawn through the bottom drainpipe. Clarified water is collected from the spillway upper perimetal channel where is conducted to the discharge point. In certain applications, is possible to accelerate the particles decantation process by supplying specific additives. TADIPOL builts truncated cone decanters with supporting legs (cone fitted 45 or 60 ), semi-underground decanters, submerged large diameter hoppers, etc. Included accessories: Entrance pipe Decanted water way out pipe Sludge drain pipe A Thompson perimeter channel with an adjustable notch A central reassuring bell.

Manufactured according to DIN 1999 (1-6), CEN N-109-E, EN 858 (1 & 2) requirements
The installation of this equipment prevents from the hidrocarbons spillage, lubricating oils, waxes and other light accumulated products on the service stations pavements, car washes, parking lots, roads, garages, machinery repair, etc. These pollutants are highly harmful for the environment, because of their low density can form a surface layer on the water environment that hinders the oxygen transfer from air to water, damaging the natural purification process of rivers. Operation The dirty water laden of sludge hydrocarbon entering the desander enclosure, which release the sands, clays and other heavy materials. Then, the sludge passes to the separation compartment, where lasts long time enough for oil agents and other compounds with lower water density float to the surface where they are retained. This installation is necessary for establishments situated outside the population centers and within them. The oil separator should not behave to any domestic sewage from services, kitchens, etc. Models In compliance with DIN 1999 (1-6), CEN N-109-E and EN 858 (1 & 2), Oil Separators must be fitted with a grit removal chamber with a minimum volume of 1.000 liters and an automatic shutter calibrated buoy. According to DIN 1999 requirements, there are established different two classifications according to the receiving means that will shed water through the separator. Type 1: Release into public protected waterways for which requires the installation of a coalescing unit. The function of the coalescing plates is to hold the tiny droplets of hydrocarbons through his special design, promote agglutination of these small droplets, forming larger drops easier to separate and retain. Type 2: Release into pulblic unprotected waterways (sewage with posterior purifying treatment plant). The belonging separators of this group are provided with a sand removal area and separation enclosure provided with automatic shutter. Not provided with coalescing plates. TADIPOL also have storm separators with incorporated bypass, with automatic collection systems for acumulated hydrocarbons, ultrasound probes for measuring the level of accumulated sand, capacitive probes for oil level detection, etc. Maintenance Instructions Empty the accumulated sands once a year. Empty the hydrocarbons accumulated when the thickness of the surface layer exceeds 120 mm. Check annually the proper functioning of the automatic shutter buoy.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Underground vertical tanks and treatment plants

1. - Dig a moat whose dimensions exceed 40 cm to the dimensions of the tank (both length and width). Take care that the ground of the excavation is properly leveled, without steps. 2 - Build an ironed concrete 20 cm thick reinforced with iron mesh (A). Beware that the level surface is free of rocks, steps or sharp edges. 3.- Using suitable lifting equipment, place the flat based tank directly on the concrete slab. 4 - Place the tank on the location and fill it with water. Then fill in the rest of the excavation with fine washed sand, free of gravel, stones, rubble or sharp edges (B).

Groundwater may act on the underground tank making float when it is empty. For this reason, when groundwater is detected will be necessary fill completely the whole excavation with liquid concrete (instead of sand) until covering completly the tank dome. Concrete filling will take place with care and in several stages, dividing equally the concrete around the tank. 5 - Allow inspection manholes on the access mouth. 6 - The sand filling level above the tank shall not exceed 0.4m height. 7. - When vehicles can be registered passing over the surface of the tank the excavation must be filled with poor concrete mass. If the passing traffic is frequent or have significant weight must also build a reinforced concrete slab with a minimum thickness of 20-25 cm, with dimensions exceeding 90 cm (45 cm at each side) the dimensions of the excavation, both lengthwise and widthwise (resting on solid ground). If the dimensions of the hole may require, place support beams for reinforcing the slab (supporting their sides on solid ground). If the ground is soft and there is a risk that the base may move or tilt, will be needed to be built on four support pillars on the lower basis to support the upper ground. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage that may arise following the installation failure described above.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. - Dig a moat whose dimensions exceed 40 cm to the dimensions of the tank (both length and width). Take care that the bottom of the excavation is properly leveled, without steps. 2. - Build a 20 cm thick concrete slab (A), paying special attention to be ensure that the surface of the slab is perfectly leveled, free of rocks, steps or sharp edges. 3. - Using the suitable lifting equipment, place the tank directly on the concrete slab. Fill the tank with water to a height of 500 mm (to prevent it from floating on the concrete) and then fill in of concrete (B), very liquid, along the sides of the tank. The liquid concrete will form a cradle that reaches up to a third part of the height of the container (C) or up to half the tank diameter if is 3500 mm or greater. This concrete cradle allows the weight of the tank and the contents stay distributed evenly across the surface of the concrete slab. Is not at all advisable to use sand or gravel to form the cradle support, because these materials are dragged by the action of water, leaving the tank without support base. 4. - Fill the rest of the excavation with washed fine sand free of gravel, stones, rubble or sharp edges (D). Do not use machines or vibrating compactors for the settlement of the filling material. Groundwater may act on the underground tank making float when it is empty. For this reason, when groundwater is detected will be necessary fill completely the whole excavation with liquid concrete (instead of sand). Concrete filling will take place in several stages: first 30-40 cm of water entering inside the tank and then carefully liquid concrete layer around the tank of 30-40 cm. Repeat until completely cover the tank, always ensuring that the concrete outer level does not exceed the level of water inside, thus preventing the tank from floating. 5. - Allow inspection manholes on the access mouth. 6- The sand filling level above the tank shall not exceed 0.4m height.
