Question 1. What are the various levels of conflict that influence the performance of the Titans? Answer1.The various levels of conflict that influenced the performance of the Titans: [1] Dysfunctional Relationship Conflict: a) Intergroup Conflict:There is clear struggle about race in the movie. The white players dont want to play with black players and same case was with the black players also. Both were having egos which leaded to ego clash between white and black players. This created a problem in the team and was hindering the teams ability to play united. b) Interpersonal Conflict:Coach Boone gets the head coach job. The White playersdont wanted to play for Coach Boone and Coach Yoast declines Coach Boone's initial offer to work as the Assistant Head Coach because he does not want to work below him. Coach Yoastwas having overconfidence in the beginning of movie thats why he refused to work beneath him. [2] Functional Process Conflict: In the beginning Coach Yoast was not agreeing to work under Coach Boone due dysfunctional relationship conflict, but later Coach Yoast agreed to work as assistant head coach. Both Coachs working style was different but they were having common goal i.e. they wanted their team to win. Due to difference in style of working, coaches were having conflict i.e. what type of strategy should be adopted so that the team can win. Question 2. According to Wageman and Donnenfields conflict intervention model what are the team interventions used by coach to reduce team conflict. Answer 2. The coach used following team interventions to reduce team conflict: Team Redesign Task Process Coaching Conflict Process Coaching

Team Redesign:

The white football players and white football players were not liking each others presence, basically they were hating each other. Earlier the blacks were in one bus and the whites in other bus, but the coach called both white and black out of the bus and ordered that defense squad will be in one bus and offense squad will be in one bus, through this coach redesigned the team by mixing the whites and blacks. The coach made them interdependent on each other. Task Process Coaching: The coach made different strategies so that both white and black have to communicate with each other. He made an activity in which each day a white football player will spend time with a black football player and made it mandatory that each player has to give report to the coach. This activity was created so that both race people will communicate with each other. Through this communication white and black will know about each other and it will also help in improving the skills of each team member. Conflict Process Coaching: The coach created trust building exercises and made rule such as if a team player dont trust the other and fights with each other, then the players will get punishment for their actions. Through trust building exercises coach wanted to eliminate distrust and misunderstanding within the team. The trust building exercises made both races realize that they have to compromise&both sides know that there will be no winner so both side put aside their beliefs for the better of the team.
