Targets for French Beginners Try and keep the targets specific and achievable so we can tick them off as we go. Just like other nouns, countries are classified per gender, masculine or feminine. Example: le Royaume-Uni la France

THE VERB 'HABITER' + A COUNTRY

As you know, the verb habiter (to live) is associated with the preposition and the name of a town or a city. Example: J'habite Exeter. I live in Exeter.

With a country, it's a different story...

If the country is masculine, you make the following change:

Example:
