Twenty-year-old, Alander Pulliam has quickly taken the music industry by storm,
making him one of the youngest, music executives and entrepreneurs in the game.

Pulliam certainly has a story of tragedy and triumph. At the age of 2, he lost his mother
to Cancer, two days after giving birth to his younger brother. Throughout his childhood,
he lived with various family members, going from home to home.

Despite Pulliam’s rough childhood, he maintained good grades, and at an early age, his
entrepreneurial spirit became evident. By the time Pulliam was 14 years old, he was
writing for indie TV shows such as Alex and Chuck, Rolling Balls, and Walking Feet.
He later auditioned for the Young & Restless, and Harry Potter, but due to family issues
and setbacks had to turn down offered roles.

His career in the entertainment industry expanded to the music industry. Pulliam has
quickly climbed the ladder from being an A& R intern at an Indie record label to being
employed as a Marketing Assistant at Universal Music Group, and finally operating his
own businesses: Alander Talent & Artist Management, Alander Music Group, and the
Young Entrepreneurs Program.

According to Pulliam, the “Young Entrepreneurs Program is a program I am launching

for teens and young adults with thoughts on becoming successful, but are held back by
peer pressure, scared of what somebody might say, and bounded by restrictions. I am a
young adult, and we are the future. I want to mold, and sculpt other young adults into
material that will not only help further our economy, but help to inspire, and motivate
other your youth. It’s too many young Black males and females with talent, skills, and
all, but no knowledge and motivation. ”

Pulliam admits while employed at Universal, he has tried to soak up as much knowledge
of the music industry, as possible, particularly from industry vets, such as: Tone Capone,
Executive Vice President Of Universal Motown/Coalition Music Group.

In 2007, Tone founded Music Industry Online – www.musicindustryonline.info, a social

networking website designed for helping aspiring young artists, musicians, film makers,
and other entrepreneurs get connected. In addition to holding down the fort at CMG /
Universal Motown, Capone is the Executive Producer for the only news and politically
oriented show on New York's Hot 97FM: Street Soldiers. Hosted by Fox 5 news reporter
Lisa Evers, Street Soldiers addresses a vast array of issues affecting the hip-hop
community where Tone's staff industriously execute the shows weekly broadcast to
millions of listeners.

Pulliam stated, “I always have a pen and pad available, ready to learn and take notes.
Being that I’m so young, I’ve always had to prove myself. Now, that most people are
beyond my age, I am able to move forward, and be taken seriously.”

Pulliam has worked with artists, such as: Ciara, NatStar, Nappy Roots, Lil Wayne,
Qaulety, 2pistols, Murphy Lee, BlueShift, Kiesha Babi (formerly of Xscape, Young
Thad, Tay & Styles, Capo, and Ray Lavender.

When asked, “What motivates you to continue pressing forward,” Pulliam responded,
“God, my family, and my desire to succeed, the desire to see my business progress
motivates me. People have told me that I wouldn’t be nothing. That definitely keeps me
motivated.”

Pulliam can attest that dreams can become reality. His advice to others who are
interested in pursuing their dreams, “Work, listen, and learn. Take notes on a notepad,
and then apply it. Ask the right people questions. Don’t rush, stay humble, and patient.
Know what you want, and find out what you need to make what you want work. Have
something to offer.”

Artists are often contacting Pulliam, sending demos, and trying to solicit advice on how
to get a record deal. Pulliam has made it clear that he feels “that a record deal isn’t
always the way to go. A publishing deal is sometimes more lucrative than a record deal.”

As a tool to help unsigned artists get a better understanding of the music business,
Alander Music Group, All Urban Radio and Streetsmart Magazine will be hosting a
conference call every Friday for unsigned artists at 8 p.m. EST, “Don’t Fail the Music
Industry for the Lack of Knowledge.”

In addition, AMG Compilation Disc Vol.1, AMG’s first release is scheduled to hit stores
and on Itunes December 24, 2009. The album features various artists, such as: Lil’
Wayne, Fabulous, Snoop Dogg, Dorrough Music, Jayo Felony, Lil’ Ronnie NaStar, Lil’
Boobie, J-Kwon, Kitty Katt, Ebony Eyes, Dior, Kayo The Prince, and Deetay.
