Introduction
Clariant supplies a wide range of waxes for many different
industries and applications, to solve particular problems in
many application sectors like plastics, coating, polish etc.
Clariant is a global player since more than eight decades
in the production of waxes, offering a widely diversified
portfolio of synthetic and semi synthetic waxes.
The waxes of Clariant(previously Hoechst) are widely used
in a huge, diversified field of application: from Adhesives,
Coatings & Inks over Emulsions, Plastics, polish and care
or specialized Applications as Road construction, Wax
sculptures and candles, Powder metallurgy, Cosmetics,
Metal working, Stationary.
Our portfolio comprises Montan wax based products,
polyolefin and polymeric based waxes, as well as amide
waxes and their micronized grades. Our Ceridust

micronized waxes, for instance, are widely established
on the market as top quality products ideal for use in
printing inks, paints, and many other plastic and coating
applications.
With our long established expertise and focus on
research and development, we are in the position to
develop innovative solutions, orientated towards the
demands of the markets and requirements of customers.

A safety data sheet giving further details is avail able for
each Clariant product introduced here.
The toxicological and ecological proper ties were tested on
typical prod ucts in the range. The vast majority of products
have very good toxicolo gical and ecotoxicological proper-
ties. The most recent values are given in the safety data
sheets.
TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Acute oral toxicity
The acute oral toxicity (LD
50
) of most products is
> 2,000 mg/kg (rat or mouse).
When handling Ceridust 9202 F, Ceridust 9205 F, Ceridust
9610 F, Ceridust 3920 F, Ceridust 3940 F, Ceridust 9630 F
