The NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) oversees implementation of the Discharges of Petroleum and Other Hazardous Substances (DPHS) rules (N.J.A.C. 7:1E et seq.) that impact major facilities throughout the State. As part of these regulations, major facilities are required to prepare, submit and update Discharge Prevention Containment and Countermeasure (DPCC) plans and Discharge Cleanup and Removal (DCR) plans with the NJDEP. This one-day workshop will provide guidance on preparing updates to current DPCC and DCR plans, steps to ensure compliance with the plans and NJDEP rules and a discussion of the federal Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) sister program, and how discharges will be addressed under the new Remediation of Contaminated Sites Rule.
New Jerseys Stormwater Management Rules require fundamental changes in how we plan, design and implement systems and structures for managing stormwater runoff. The rules include methods and calculations for determining groundwater recharge and stormwater runoff quality and quantity. For both designers of land use proposals and the public ofcials who review them, implementing the rules will require an understanding of both the municipal planning in the regulations and the technical standards required. This two-day seminar will explain both aspects of the rule, as well as present an overview of NJs Stormwater Management Program.
