The AirGuard models 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A3MP Wireless Access Points are packaged in rugged weatherproof enclosures and conform to 802.11a/b/g wireless standards. They provide access point, gateway, bridge / repeater, and mesh networking for wireless applications. The AirGuard 3e 525A3MP is engineered specically for vehicle operation. The 3e525A3 Basic has passed FIPS 140-2 testing and validation, and was issued certicate #640. The 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A3MP permit broad wireless network implementation with a single type of unit including 802.11a, Turbo A and 802.11b/g and Super G capabilities. In access point or gateway mode, the 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A 3MP can establish links to laptops, PDAs and other wireless devices at data rates from 11 Mbps to up to 108 Mbps. For use in mesh networking, repeater or bridging applications, the 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A3MPs options also support wireless signaling for link data rates up to 108 Mbps. This allows the wireless backbone to accommodate the data from several 802.11a/b/g systems. The 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A3MP can be used for a variety of security measures. For less

sensitive applications, the legacy WEP encryption algorithm system can be used. For federal government or military applications, AES, AES-CCM, or 3DES encryption is available. The AES and 3DES algorithms have been approved by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NISTs FIPS 140-2 standard is required on all U.S. government wireless installations. AES/3DES are available for both access point / gateway implementations as well as bridging. Additional security is available by adding the optional 3e-030-2 security server software to enable dynamic key exchange. Conguration of the 3e525A3 Basic or 3e525A3MP wireless LAN is easy with its https web interface. This interface includes the ability to manage all features of the device including bridge, AP, gateway, management and diagnostic functions. The 3e525A3 Basic and 3e525A3MP can also be controlled via SNMP v1, v2 or v3. The 3e525A3 Basic operates on Power-over-Ethernet, saving the time and costs associated with powerline cabling. The 3e525A3MP has a 9 to 32 VDC power port designed to accept variable input voltage with noise and over-voltage conditions typical of vehicle power systems.
