1. The context: European Interoperable Corridors and Romania 2. Key to Interoperabilty: the European Traffic Management System ERTMS 3. The Ansaldo references in European Signalling 4. The Ansaldo scope of work for the Campina-Predeal Project
Deliver a trans European rail service: Recognised as competitive with the other modes of transport Excellent in terms of safety, punctuality and reliability supported by: A systematic pursuit of the best cost-effective performance A financing plan of the investments fairly shared by the Member-States, the infrastructure companies, the railway undertakings and the European Union An ambitious investment programme in infrastructure and rolling stock, based on the coordinated implementation of ERTMS
New Interoperable Infrastructure to be built Existing infrasctructure to be made interoperable The Signalling problem

E-MMI Functions
The MMI implements the following series of base functions: Safety Operating continuity Handling abnormalities and emergencies with the highest level of safety Improvement of cost/performance ratio Constant safety in the system life cycle Operational simplicity Reduction of development and alteration times Reduction of verification times (instruments, simulators, tools ....)
In addition to the above-mentioned functions, the EMMI is capable of bringing about a series of supervision functions, such as:
Diagnosis and maintenance with dedicated terminal Data exchange with other systems Events Recording Integration with TLC services and equipment Report management

Each single LEU is normally integrated in a station rack which contains up to 8 LEU modules (parallel inputs or serial inputs) or in a lineside cabinet which contains up to 2 LEU modules (parallel inputs)
Station LEU rack is a complete and independent platform for inside installation (typically relay room) with LEU modules, input (from IXL) output (to balises) adaptation and isolation modules, local and remote diagnostic modules, power supply unit.
Lineside LEU cabinet is a complete and independent platform for outdoor installation (tipically near a signal, RR crossing, ) with LEU modules, input (from lineside signalling apparatus) output (to balises) adaptation and isolation modules, local and remote diagnostic modules, power supply unit.
