By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to : a) Listen to the teacher's instructions carefully and scrape the Oreo Cookies to illustrate the Moon Phases according to the poem's descriptions correctly in groups of 5. b) Individually refers to the poem entitled "The Moon Game" and write at least 3 names of the Moon Phases according to the pictures provided accurately in worksheet 1. c) Sing with actions while wearing a hand-made Moon Phase Mask by referring to the lyric correctly in groups of 5.

Stage / Activity Set Induction (5 minutes) 1. Teacher draws pupils attention by wearing a Crescent shape mask before entering to the classroom. 2. Teacher introduces himself as a creature that has escaped from the Moon. 3. Teacher asks the shape of the mask worn. 4. Teacher plays a video entitled "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Trailer - Official (HD)". 5. Teacher asks pupils where do the astronomers land. 6. Teacher asks pupils where they can observe the Moon and when they can observe the Moon every day. 7. Teacher asks pupils the shape of the Moon the night before. Development (10 minutes) Stage 1 1. Teacher asks questions orally Do we see the same moon shape every day? What shapes does the Moon take? 2. Teacher gives feedback based on pupils' answers. 3. Teacher introduces to pupils that they are going to discover the Moon Phases. 4. Teacher explains to pupils that the moon is always the same shape- round. 5. Teacher explains that sometimes the light from the sun cannot reach the whole moon and we can only see part of it. We call these different shapes that the light of the sun on the moon creates "The Phases of the

Teacher introduces the name for each Moon Phase based on the pictures on the poem. 11. Pupils are in groups of 5 for the next activity. Stage 2 (20 minutes) 1. Teacher distributes 4 Oreo Cookies, spoons and paper plate, ready-made Moon Phase Mask for each group. 2. Teacher instructs pupils to use Oreo Cookies to draw the moon phases and to put them in the correct order. 3. Teacher demonstrates how to twist and open a cookie so that the frosting is all on one side. 4. Teacher asks questions to pupils, which side looks like the full Moon (The cookie that has all the frosting on one side) and which side looks like the new Moon. (The cookie that has no frosting.) 5. Teacher gives feedback based on pupils' answers. 6. Teacher asks each group to refer to the poem and scrape the frosting from the cookies according to the phases in groups of 5. 7. Teacher instructs only 4 pupils to scrape the frosting while one pupil cuts 5 ready-made Moon Phase Mask for their group members. 8. Teacher guides and facilitates the pupils, if necessary. 9. Teacher instructs the group leaders to arrange their Moon Phases in front of the class. 10. Pupils appreciate a variety of Moon Phases made by their friends. 11. Teacher facilitates the groups to hang the step book with the hanger. 5. Teacher hangs the completed step books with hanger and hangs them on the wall of the classroom. 6.
