JANUARY 1988

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ,

It's another year, and we can make 1988 a special year for our Lord, by making Him first in our lives. Can't you hear the host of heaven shouting praises as we - His children - spend more time in prayer, more time in the study of His word, and more time thinking and talking about Jesus.

Jayne has returned to Zimbabwe,

arriving on Thursday,

January 7 about 8 AM, EST. She took two bicycles with her and she and the bicycles passed quickly through immigrations in Harare. Plus she was assessed a smaller duty fee than she was expecting. But there is still a need to pray. Jayne s t i l l needs her work permit. Please join us in diligent prayer for this need. Several have asked about things she could use - other than money (which is very important). We asked her to leave a list, which is enclosed. NOTE: If you plan to send her a package, please take notice of the following facts. (1) The total cost of the items sent must be less than $20. (2) The package must state that i t is an unsolicited gift. (3) Don't mix food and soap products in the same package. And (4) send the package by surface mail.

You ask, why under $20? Because anything over, Jayne must pay a duty of 25% or more. Even insurance values over $20 are used as the duty fee schedule, therefore do not insure the package. Above all tell the truth.
Enclosed is a financial statement for 1987. You will

note that in 1988, her insurance increases $161.64 and her social security premiums increase $42.34. Please pray that those who currently provide the financial support will continue, and that others will begin sending regular support in 1988. If ten new supporters sent just $2.00 per week, that would be an additional $1,040. for the year.

When last did you pray for Jayne?

Why not tonight???

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my patk-Psalm 119:105
Dear Friends,

Greetings in the name of Jesus. It is So hard to believe that my three year term
is almost completed. I've had many wonderful experiences and many sorrows in these past three years but the Lord has been so gracious and precious to me as 1

have rejoiced and struggled. At times Ifeel I have grown, then at times I feel I have gone in reverse. I am sure that as each of us seeks to do the best in the sight of the Lord, we have found so many areas that we are weak and that we
fall in. But, 1am learning to trust in the Lordit is not easy!!! As I think of all the experiences I have had, I realize I could not have done this

without your love and support and many prayers. Thank you for loving me that
much!!! Each of you has been a part of my life here in so many ways.

To let you know what my plans are (all of which were pending on my work permit being renewedwhich it was on Nov. 1 for another two years), I plan to
leave Zimbabwe on the 22nd of January. 1989. I will travel for several weeks

before arriving home around the first part of February. I do hope to be at Johnson Bible College Homecoming and hope to see so many "old" friends there. I hope to be available for speaking and visits by the end of February. Please keep all this in your prayers as I strive to get letters answered, presentation prepared, my flat (apartment) packed up and things at the college completed so
others can take over easily. 1look forward to being home and hopefully seeing
each of you.

Again I say thank you and God's special blessings on each of you as you strive to
do all that He desires for you.
In Him and with love.

November 7, 1988

Greeting in the name of Jesus from Tallahassee,

The enclosed letter from Jayne Linda was written by her before she received the news about the renewal of her work permit for another two years. (We added the message to her letter in paragraph-three.) We talked to her this weekend and she is looking forward to coming home. If your church or group would like to have her come for a speaking engagement or presentation, we request that you either complete the attach form and send to us , or you may call us in
Tallahassee at (904)877-4463, Since we both work the best time to call would
be after 6 pm EST. or on the weekend.

Jayne Linda needs to add more churches or church groups to her regular support. This should be for at least three years. Jayne has been just getting by on the
support she currently has. There are expenses to maintain her car and expenses to maintain her apartment, not counting insurance, taxes, etc. Right now she

must have $250. to pay her Zimbabwe income tax. Another cost will be the use
of a car while home, travel costs in the states and maintaning her apartment in

Zimbabwe. Please pray that churches and church groups will help out with all the expenses. Many of you have been faithful partners with Jayne for the past

three years. To many this has been a real sacrifice, and we thank the Lord every"
day for your fathfulness. It always proves the scriptures, that when we give to the Lord's work. He more than provides for our needs. Please encourage your church to get involved in missions. It will solve many problems they may be
having.

Once again we say thanks, and I know you look forward to seeing Jayne, as we look forward to February.

"We have one more week of clasees at the college and then three days of exams. Then the students will go home. The next term begins about Jan. 17th. Ihis has been a good term. Our students have had a number of deaths in their families this term though. One married man had a broth er in the police killed in a road accident in September. Ihen this week a brother in the Army was killed while in Mozambique, "Ihe twins and Martin were invited to participate in the Faith Promise Rally at Ellettsville, Ind. where Altmans' ministered, Ihat is where

several of the former doctors from here also attend. Martin spoke on the goals of our college. We were glad that the people there had a chance to meet them, Ihey are all attending Kentucky Christian College,

"Ikul's family, Joyce's family and we are going to Lake Mcllwaine, out side of Harare, for Dec, 2 and 3 to do something special and to cele

"The EAstwoods' are back at work in Zimbabwe, Pciul and his family will be leaving there around Dec. 15th for a furlough in the States. Brion and Joyce and the children have moved from the college into a home where they will have more room and the children will have a yard to play in.
