Mark Fedak President Oakville North-Burlington Conservative Association

Re: Oakville North-Burlington

Dear Mr. Fedak: I want to thank you and your board members on behalf of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) and our Leader for all of your years of service to the Conservative movement in Canada. I also want to thank for your current volunteer activities as the President of this new EDA. As you are aware, National Council has investigated the concerns raised in your letter of April 1st . In respect of the various issues you have raised in your April 1 letter, please be advised: 1. The election readiness plans to which you refer are prepared by and purchased from private businesses not affiliated with the CPC. The CPC has made inquiries, and is satisfied that there has been no interference by any current or former CPC employee which blocked any sale to your EDA. The question of MP mailing privileges is not within the jurisdiction of the CPC to review. To the extent these mailings impact upon the nomination contestants spending for which she must account, the CPC will remain vigilant to ensure all costs of the contestant are correctly declared. The concerns regarding the long-time regional organizer are presently being addressed by the CPC. Further comment in this reply would not be appropriate. The CPC continuously reviews and scrutinizes access and usage of CIMS. In addition, the CPC continues to review the Rules put in place to permit access to CIMS. All allegations regarding CIMS access in Oakville North-Burlington are being reviewed and considered by National Council.

3. 4.

The investigation has revealed numerous concerns regarding the conduct of Ms. Adams prior, during and after your Board meeting of March 19. To date, based on information National Council has received, the conduct does not warrant the disqualification of Ms. Adams as a nomination contestant. However, Ms. Adams has been advised that improprieties in the campaign will result in a NCSC review, and if warranted, disqualification. The CPC has been clear in its commitment to hold open and fair nominations across the country on behalf of the Party. National Council, which is charged with ensuring fair nominations, will remain vigilant, and will respond to any misconduct by any nomination contestant. Sincerely,

John Walsh President, National Council, Conservative Party of Canada CC: Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, Leader Conservative Party of Canada Ray Novak, Chief of Staff, PMO Simon Thompson, Acting Executive Director Fred DeLorey, Director of Political Operations Michael Lauer, Secretary National Council Eve Adams, Member of Parliament, Mississauga-Brampton South
