History
The formation of Alcatel-Lucent created the worlds first truly global communications solutions provider, with the most complete end-to-end portfolio of solutions and services in the industry. Alcatel - Lucent combined two entities Alcatel and Lucent Technologies which shared a common lineage dating back to 1986. That was the year Alcatels parent company, CGE (l a Compagnie Gnrale dElectricit), acquired ITTs European telecom business. Nearly 60 years earlier, ITT had purchased most of AT&Ts manufacturing operations outside the United States. Lucent Technologies was spun off from AT&T. Alcatel-Lucent India Alcatel entered the Indian market in 1982 with a technology transfer with ITI and became the first one to manufacture digital switching equipment in the country. Half of Indias fixed service lines are based on Alcatel technology. The company has research & development and engineering centers in Gurgaon and Chennai. JOINT VENTURE Bharti Airtel, Asias leading integrated telecom service provider, and Alcatel-Lucent on April 30, 2009 announced that they have formed a joint venture to manage Bharti Airtels pan-India broadband and telephone services and help Airtels transition to next generation networks. Under the joint venture, Alcatel-Lucent will design, plan, deploy, optimize and manage Bharti Airtels broadband and telephone network across India. A new legal entity is being formed which will be operated by Alcatel-Lucent. This managed services partnership will include all end-to-end activities service rollout, installation and fault repair, service continuity and transformation. It will support Bharti Airtels transformation to next generation networks, offering advanced services like high-speed internet, triple play, media-rich VAS, MPLS, VPN for both retail and business customers. The partnership will also drive optimal capital investment and increase operational efficiency by moving voice and data traffic onto a single, 'packetized' infrastructure Alcatel-Lucent and Bharti Airtel announced the appointment of Arnaud Soubelet as the CEO of their joint venture Alcatel-Lucent Network Management Services India Ltd (ALNMSI). Arnaud Soubelet began his career with Alcatel-Lucent in 1988. Over the last 20 years, he has held several key assignments in France, Latin America, Greece, Egypt and India across sales, enterprises and managed services. Arnaud holds post graduate degrees in business administration and business law from the Sorbonne University in Paris.

Broadband
The term broadband commonly refers to high-speed Internet access that is always on and faster than the traditional dial-up access. How is broadband different from dial-up service?

Broadband service provides higher-speed of data transmission. It allows more content to be carried through the transmission pipeline. Broadband provides access to the highest quality Internet servicesstreaming media, VoIP (Internet phone), gaming, and interactive services. Many of these current and newly-developing services require the transfer of large amounts of data that may not be technically feasible with dial-up service. Therefore, broadband service may be increasingly necessary to access the full range of services and opportunities that the Internet can offer. Broadband is always on. It does not block phone lines and there is no need to reconnect to network after logging off. Less delay in transmission of content when using broadband.

MAJOR PROBLEMS FACED BY COSTUMER FOR ACCESSING BROADBAND CONNECTION

old PCs, pirated Operating system, No security updation, no antivirus, less knowledge on system settings like DNS, IP settings, proxy etc Crackling noise on the telephone line. Crackling noises/static on the line when using the telephone is indicative of incorrectly fitted filters.

Slow Speeds No sync. If your modem/router cant synchronise with the exchange (as indicated by a flashing green "adsl" light). ADSL adsl not active. Incorrectly installed filters Problem with the local line.

Each visit to solve customer problem is a cost to company

AIRTEL SECURE WI-FI DIALER

It is very easy to install netxert software but it is necessary to know your modem ID and Password which is provided by airtel agent at the time of configuring your connection. This software is easily downloadable and installation is easy too. A very user friendly interface and easily accessible links.

Online FAQs and help

By clicking on FAQs and help link you got automatically directed to online help page of Airtel.

Utilities column: Protect and restore setting option actually saves your current network setting and creates a restore point.

Password Reset: In this, we can reset the modems password and change it accordingly.

Speed test It gives the information about download speed and upload speed.

More options such as View System information, FAQs, Protect/Restore Setting, Get Connected

System information provides System Summary, windows information, hardware information, network information ,environment variables, printer list, running programs.

Creating problems: Switching off wireless network adaptor.

The whole process takes 23 minutes to detect and troubleshoot but even then problem is not corrected.

After switching on wireless adaptor, problem with the dialer occurs

Problem with airtel secure wi-fi dialer.

Finally it is connected after few minutes and after restarting the router.

2.Dial tone cable is removed

This time netxpert doesnt start automatically

The list doesnt show my current modem i.e. Binatone Dt 845W

Even though I am connected to internet but still it shows unable to resolve your network problem.

Maybe way back in 2007, there were issues, but it is quite a good software to self diagnose basic issues with internet connection before calling Airtel for help. The application would also be capable of diagnosing both the users system and the Airtel network. The aim is to reduce the dependency of the user on Airtel technicians to analyze and solve problems at the users end by using software applications. It detects the exact problem and even provide the solution for the same. It takes a lot of time in troubleshooting and sometimes even hangs(there might be some bugs) in between the process.
