AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is designed for healthcare professionals (personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units) who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication during resuscitation, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Course Contents: Basic life support skills Recognition and early management of: a) Respiratory Arrest and Cardiac Arrest b) Peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia, unstable tachycardia. Airway management Related pharmacology Management of Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) Management of stroke Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics Mode of Instruction: Audio visuals classroom training Skills are taught in groups, learning and testing stations Case-based scenarios Practice While Watching (PWW) Hands on practice on manikins & simulators, practice on monitors, defibrillators Duration: 2 days Certification: by American Heart Association Validity: 2 years
