Planning, training, operation,
and post-analysis of operations
Controlling downhole pressures for all operations performed during a drilling project is key
to avoiding well control incidents. The operating mode significantly impacts pressure and
temperature variations. In challenging wellsdeepwater, high pressure, high temperature,
and extended reach wellsdrilling becomes even more challenging due to narrow windows
between pore and fracture pressure.
Drillbench* Dynamic Hydraulics software is specifically designed for use in wells with narrow
operating margins. At its core is an accurate dynamic hydraulics model, which combines
transient effects with a detailed specification of fluid properties and geometry. The software
also supports new drilling methods, such as dual-gradient and managed-pressure drilling.
Reach wells more efficiently
Poor knowledge of downhole conditions and a lack of understanding of operational effects
on pressure conditions can lead to lost time and even the loss of a well. Rigorous planning
allows you to maintain pressure control and efficiently reach well objectives.
Temperature is one of the main causes of pressure variation in the well. Many factors affect
wellbore temperature, meaning an accurate modeling tool is essential. The Drillbench Dynamic
Hydraulics transient 2D model includes all significant temperature effects.
The software is used in all phases of the drilling project, from operational decision
support, to detailed planning, training, and understanding of the drilling operation
processes. It also supports analysis to learn from previous projects.
Drillbench Dynamic Hydraulics uses advanced applied science, but is also very easy
to use. Sensitivities are easy to run and the interface allows the user to carry out and
analyze a wide variety of scenarios.
