1 Operation
1.1 General Comments
Operating Manual FH 344 GB Multicont Weighfeeder describes the operation of a weighfeeder in its extended version. For commissioning, calibration, configuration, and parametrization of the system, please see Service Manual FH 345 GB. The weigherfeeder can be operated via one or two machine control stations a group control station and a host system.

WEIGHFEEDER

For commissioning, several functions can be controlled via local control box. Entry and access privileges of a control station can be selected for each mode of operation and function; combined operation is possible. To ensure operational safety, the most important functions are protected against inadvertent modification by password and key switch. The following details refer to the operation of a machine control station.

There are two types of machine control stations: Machine control station FLB 0400, designed to be installed in control cubicles Machine controls station FLB 0500 EEx..., designed as floor-standing unit, for use in hazardous zones. Displays and keyboards of both control stations are almost identical.

With machine control station FLB 0400, the process and feeder data are show on a two-line display. 6 LEDs are available for simultaneous check of active operating states, 5 arranged beside the display and 1 in key ON. With machine control station FLB 0500 EEx... all data are shown on a three-line display.. Operation is via function keys arranged in 3 blocks below the display.

1.4.4 Calibration Functions
Sub-function distributor Calibration Funciton comprises all programs and functions required for commissioning and calibration of feeder. The Gravimetric Mode is the normal mode for feeding of bulk solids. Via the prefeeder the actual feed rate measured is controlled to the feed rate set. In Volumetric Mode the actual feed rate measured is not used for closed-loop control. In Gravimetric Mode, too, feeder changes over to volumetric mode during the start-up phase. If feeder is active, these sub-modes are displayed by signal lamps VOL, or GRAV. The funciton Time Entry servers for entry or interrogation of system time. After call of this funciton, year, month, day, hour, minute, and second are interrogated one after the other. Entry always comprises two digits and must be acknowledged by operating key ENTER. After entry has been completed, the current time is displayed. If the time is to be interrogated alone, the sequence is the same but instead of a digital entry, key ENTER has to be operated. Main mode of operation Test Mode is provided for commissioning and checks and should exclusively be used by authorized persons. The function Service Values serves for display of: EAx.AEx [V] Voltage at analog input x, input/output unit x, measurement data acquisition unit x; Voltage at analog output x, input/output unit x; Current load cell utilization; Raw measured value of speed transducer; Control magnitude; Duty cycle;
