ZOMBIE WOODS
(A WEBELOS SURVIVAL ADVENTURE)
LEADERS PACKET
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of this program to provide a safe environment in which to educate and entertain Webelos and Bear Scouts through games, activities and classes geared toward encouraging boys in the true Spirit of Scouting.
REGISTRATION
Units should register through Doubleknot via the Chickasaw Council website by Friday, March 7, 2014. Cost is $20 per scout and includes one official program patch and one souvenir multi tool Units will be responsible for preparing their own meals Leaders and adults attend for free (two official program patches per unit) Space is limited too 150 Webelos and Bear Scouts registered with the Thunderbird Distict If space is still available units may be able to register after the March 7 th deadline, but patches and multi tools are not guaranteed after this date 10 COMPETITION POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO UNITS THAT REGISTER ON TIME
MORNING CLASSES
The following classes will be offered Saturday morning: Outdoorsman, and Readyman
Forester,
Registration for classes will be conducted through Doubleknot. Please submit two choices for each Scout in your unit Bear Scouts who have already earned their Bear Badge may register for these classes as well
AFTERNOON ACTIVITES Costume Competition earn spirit points for your unit by dressing up as a zombie extra unit points awarded to the three best dressed Scouts Shooting Sports - BB Gun and Archery ranges will be set up
Lizzigator a camp favorite with a zombie twist Build a Survival Kit Competition select 10 items you might need to gather
quickly to survive a zombie attack score based on level of importance for each item
Fire Building test your fire building skills Obstacle Course test your skills and see if you can outrun the zombie horde Twinkie Hunt running from zombies sure works up an appetite and nothing
satisfies like a good ole Hostess Twinkie

CONCESSIONS
Concessions will be offered by Troop 274 during the day on Saturday. If your unit plans on using the concessions stand for lunch you must let us know when you register your Scouts for classes at zombiewoods2014@yahoo.com to ensure we have enough food.
All units must send a leader to the Cracker Barrel held in Hamilton Meadows at 9:00p, Friday night. Leaders will check in and drop off copies of their Part B Medicals for all participants (informed consent agreement). This is were you will receive your program briefing, handle any outstanding registration issues, and pick up all patches and multi tools for your unit. Please bring your favorite camp out appetizer or dessert for our cook off competition. The winner will receive 5 competition points and a box of twinkies for his or her unit.
CAMPFIRE PROGRAM
The campfire program will feature a Zombie Theme. There will be songs, jokes, and maybe a good campfire story or two. No worries, nothing too gory right before bed. Awards will be presented for individual competitions, our costume contest, and overall unit competition award and spirit award.
CAMPSITES
Campsites reservations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis after your unit is registered on Doubleknot. We will be sharing Camp Currier with the 2014 Wood Badge class. All Zombie Woods activities will held in Hamilton Meadows. Participants will be assigned campsites located on East and North Roads. Please submit campsite preference to zombiewoods2014@yahoo.com.
UNIT CAMPFIRES
Units are allowed to have their own campfires at their campsites. However; YOU MUST use a provided fire ring. Please indicate whether your unit would like a fire ring in your campsite when submitting campsite preferences at zombiewoods2014@yahoo.com.

PARKING
PARKING IS ALLOWED IN DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY. THERE IS NO PARKING, UNLESS LOADING OR UNLOANDING, IN CAMPSITES OR ON GRASS AREAS.
TRASH
Each unit is responsible for policing their campsites and removing all trash. Trash may be deposited in the dumpster near the camp entrance.
VOLUNTEERS
Each unit is expected to provide at least one adult volunteer for both morning and afternoon activities. 5 Spirit Points will be awarded for every additional volunteer (up to three additional).
