Dear Friend, Greetings to you from everyone at the church. There's a song in my heart today that spea s of !esus "eing our "est friend. #e certain$y stic s c$oser than any person possi"$y cou$d% #e made sure the discip$es ne& #e &as their friend "efore #e &ent to 'a$vary's cross. (n John 15:15 it says, )Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.) #e is not *ust an ordinary ac+uaintance, #e is a friend that is a$&ays there, hearing every prayer. #e no&s &hat ma es you tic . #e no&s every part of your persona$ity and understands your thoughts afar off. #e said #e &ou$d never $eave you or forsa e you. -o& that is a friend% There is a specia$ $ady &ho comes to church. .he has "een ta ing our First .teps c$ass /for the second time%0. (t is a c$ass designed for peop$e &ho either *ust "ecame 'hristians or &ho &ou$d $i e to further their understanding of God's 1ord. .he &as te$$ing me the other day of her up2"ringing. #er parents sent her to church as a young gir$, "ut over time she drifted a&ay. .he pursued a $ifesty$e she en*oyed, got married, had chi$dren, "ut there &as a$&ays one area she regrets she didn't eep up, her &a$ &ith God. .he $ost her &ay a $itt$e "it spiritua$$y. 'ircumstances changed and things &eren't as they shou$d have "een. #eart2ache and trou"$es "egan to p$ague her, "ut she a$&ays ept the 3ord in her mind, &ondering if #e &ou$d ever $ove her and ta e her "ac . 4s time &ent on, her son gave his $ife to !esus 'hrist. 5ne day, a"out t&o years ago, &e had a visitor to our church. 4s it turns out, this man &as the son, &ho as ed us to p$ease contact his mother a"out coming to church /he &as visiting 'onnecticut from 5hio0. 1e did and one day she came to church% .he got ac+uainted &ith the 3ord again after a$$ these years and she *ust $oves the church% #er re$ationship &ith God is gro&ing and "$ossoming as #e $eads her c$oser to #im through the 1ord of God. .he said the other day that there are times she *ust doesn't fee$ up to coming to church, "ut it's at those times she puts forth the e6tra effort, and every time she does the 3ord touches her% .he comes into church in pain or tired of a $itt$e &eary "ut as soon as she comes through the doors she "egins to cry. .he said she never cries, e6cepts &hen she gets into #is presence. .he as ed me a"out that and ( remem"ered a verse of .cripture that says, ) new

heart also will I give you! and a new s"irit will I "ut within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh! and I will give you an heart of flesh# /$%ekiel &':('0. 4t one time her heart &as hardened "y $ife, "ut no& she had a heart that cou$d fee$, a heart that is p$ia"$e and tender. #er heart is *oined to #is heart and there is a great restoration going on% 4 "eautifu$ thing happened to this $ady one recent .unday morning. .he &as having "ac pains, so much so that she cou$d hard$y turn &ithout fee$ing immense pain. .he came to the front and &e prayed for her. The presence of God came upon her and she to$d me #e touched her and re$ieved her of the pain% .he said there's sti$$ a $itt$e "it $eft so she has to "e carefu$ ho& she moves, "ut she is than fu$ to her Friend, !esus, for touching her that day% 1e're trusting God for a comp$ete hea$ing. 7ut the greatest mirac$e is her $ife "eing restored so she can pray &ith confidence that the 3ord hears her prayers. 4t one time she &as a$one, "ut no& she has a friend that stic s c$oser than a "rother. 3itt$e "y $itt$e her friend, !esus, is he$ping her to forgive others and especia$$y herse$f for the past. .he isn't &a$ ing around &ith the gui$t she once did. 3et me as you, do you no& !esus 'hrist as your 3ord and .avior8 'an you ca$$ #im your friend8 #ave you ta$ ed to #im $ate$y8 #o& a"out today8 #e is there, &aiting to hear your prayer. #e &i$$ ans&er if you "ut pray.
