Left Side of Engine Compartment
(1) Charge Filter
(2) Pressure tap
(3) SOS tap
Charge filter (1) is located on the left side of the
steering valve is directed through this filter.
The base of the charge filter (1) contains pressure tap (2).
the base of the filter also contains a bypass valve.
Pressure in the charge systemcan be measured at
this pressure tap. If the pressure differential across
the charge filter reaches 170 kPa (25 psi), the
bypass valve opens. When the bypass valve is open,
unfiltered oil flows around the charge filter and the oil
is available to the charge system.
SOS tap (3) is located in the inlet line to charge filter
(1). A live oil sample can be obtained through the
SOS tap.
Left Side of Machine
(1) Flowdivider solenoid
Note: For additional information about the control
valve, refer to Systems Operation, Hydraulic
Schematic (Propel Systems).
The double drummachines can be equipped with
optional flowdivider solenoid (1). On these machines,
this solenoid is located on the flowdivider valve (not
shown). The flowdivider valve is located under the
left side of the front frame, behind the front drumand
belowthe vibratory manifold.
The flowdivider valve contains two line relief valves
and two makeup valves. The flowdivider valve also
contains two orifices. The line relief valves limit the
maximumpressure in the lines to the drummotors.
The makeup valves prevent cavitation of the motor.
When flowdivider solenoid (1) is energized, the
orifices inside the flowdivider valve direct an equal
amount of flowto each propulsion motor. The
divider switch controls the flowdivider solenoid.
Left Side of Machine
(1) Propulsion pump
(2) Neutral brake solenoid
(3) Charge relief valve
(4) Forward pressure tap
(5) Forward relief valve
(6) Reverse pressure tap
Note: For additional information about the propulsion
pump, refer to SystemOperation, Hydraulic
Schematic (Propel System).
Propulsion pump (10) is located at the front of the
machine and on the left side of the engine. The
engine compartment cover provides access to
this pump. The propulsion pump is a hydraulically
controlled, variable displacement, axial piston pump.
The propulsion control lever directs pilot oil into the
pump servo piston. The pressure of the pilot oil
moves the servo piston which changes the angle of
the swashplate in the pump.
Neutral brake solenoid (2) is located on the front
face of the propulsion pump. When this solenoid
is de-energized, the parking brakes are engaged.
When the solenoid is energized, the parking brakes
are disengaged.
Charge relief valve (3) and forward relief valve (5)
are located on the top face of propulsion pump (1).
The reverse relief valve (not shown) is located on
the bottomface of the propulsion pump, opposite of
the forward relief valve. Both the forward relief valve
and the forward pressure tap are installed in port A2
of the propulsion pump. The reverse relief valve is
installed in port B2of the pump.
Left Side of Engine Compartment
(13) Seat switch solenoid
Note: For additional information about the seat
switch solenoid, refer to SystemOperation, Electrical
Schematic (Propel System)and SystemOperation,
Hydraulic Schematic (Propel System).
Machines which are equipped with seat switch (3) are
also equipped with seat switch solenoid (13). This
solenoid is located on the left side of the machine.
The engine compartment cover provides access to
this compartment.
When seat switch solenoid (13) is de-energized,
a passage is open between the two sides of the
servo piston in the propulsion pump. In this case, the
swashplate remains at zero angle, and the pump
does not produce flow, regardless of the position of
the propulsion lever. The hydrostatic drive system
provides the main braking mechanismwhile the
engine is operating. When the seat switch solenoid
is energized, the two sides of the pump servo piston
are isolated. In this case, the propulsion lever can be
used to cause the machine to move.
