What’s Happening Around Town
A popular Thanksgiving hymns admonishes us
to “count your blessings; name them one by one.”
So...... we had a great week! We were healthy,
and we were able to enjoy some pretty nice days
outside! It was a blessing to see the students
excited about what they might want to be when
they grow up to serve the Lord! We also
partook in a wonderful fall harvest party today!
Mrs. Hohensee coordinated the event and was
helped by so many of you who donated items
and gave of your time to come to the party! It
is also a blessing to have an early out today!
Now, it is your turn. Take some time to count
your blessings, and name them one by one!
I trust God will continue to pour out
blessings next week as we learn letters v and w,
delve further into our studies of the twenties
family and time, and begin a new unit on the
United States in social studies. We will be
finishing up our study of the seasons in science,
and we will be turning our attention to Enoch,
Noah, and the tower of Babel in Bible.
I would appreciate your continued prayers
this week as I teach! I know I will stand before
God one day to give an account of what I did or
failed to do during my time as a teacher, and it is
my desire to do my best for the Lord! I need His
wisdom, strength, and creativity! Thank you for
upholding me as the months go by! Please let me
know if I can help or pray for you in a specific
way! You are a blessing to me! Thank you!

Answers to Questions on the Ranch
A: Read! A great way to prepare your child for
reading is to read to him or her. Each day you
read together for ten minutes, mark it down
on your Book It! calendar, and work toward
earning that pizza from Pizza Hut! Also, do
some of the activities and games from the
Rarin’ to Read newsletter I sent home with a
set of blend cards last week. If you misplaced
your copy, you can find it in my class notes
section at www.ankenychristianacademy.org.
A: No, the sign-up sheet went up last Friday,
but we are still in need of items for our boxes.
We are putting together two Christmas shoe
boxes for children who have very few things to
call their own. The goal of this project is to
help students understand the blessedness of
giving to those in need. I am pleased so many
have already taken the opportunity to give, and
I want you to know it is not too late to join in
now. If you are interested in participating,
please sign up on the list outside our classroom
door! Then, you may shop for that item with
your child and send it with him or her to school
at your convenience any time before November
20th! I trust this project will impact our stu-
dents and will encourage them to share with
others. Truly, we are rich compared with so
very many in the world today! Praise God for
His provision in our lives!
 A Bible Course Map for the Upcoming Week
Monday: Enoch walked with God. He trusted
Him for the forgiveness of sins, pleased Him,
and obeyed Him. God took Enoch home to
heaven without dying. We too must walk in
obedience to God and look forward to His
return (Gen. 5:18-24).
Tuesday: Noah, Enoch’s great-grandson,
walked in obedience to God too. God com-
manded Noah to build a boat because a terri-
ble flood was going to cover the earth. Noah
obeyed God by building the ark even though
others around him did not obey (Gen. 5:28-32).
Wednesday: God brought the animals into the
ark, closed the door, and sent rain for 40 days
as a punishment for the people who did not
obey him. He protected Noah and his family
because they obeyed (Gen. 6:22-9:19).
Thursday: God protected Noah and stopped
the rain. God promised Noah he would never
flood the earth again (Gen. 6:22-9:19).
Friday: Man did not obey God’s command to
scatter abroad and built the tower of Babel.
God caused the people to begin speaking dif-
ferent languages so they could no longer work
together and would be scattered abroad
(Gen. 8:20 - 11:9).

Spotlighting Students and Volunteers
I want to thank the Osborn family for
providing snacks this week! The kids
enjoyed the wide assortment of snacks to
choose from each day, and the apple juice
was a big hit! We look forward to treats
from the Kruger family next week! Thank
you so very much!

special time of fun and enjoyment! Thank
