SECRETS OF FRUITFULNESS IN THE LIFE OF

his life !e be"a#e a sla%e in (othiphar&s house and later a prisoner
in )ail *ut his fellowship with God was unaffe"ted God was with hi# all the
ti#e !e "ould still interpret drea#s in the prison !e was still usin$ his
spiritual $ifts inspite of ad%erse "ir"u#stan"es !is unbroken fellowship with
God was a powerful se"ret of his fruitfulness
2. FAVOUR WITH GOD AND MAN

Joseph had fa%our in the e,es of God and #an -%er,where he went he had
fa%our .hen he was in his fathers house he had fa%our in the e,es of
his father !is father lo%ed hi# #ore than all his brothers .hen he was a
sla%e in pothiphar&s house he had fa%our in the e,es of (othiphar
.hen he was a prisoner in )ail he had fa%our in the e,es of the prison
keeper .hen he stood before (haroh he had fa%our in the e,es of
(haroh who put hi# in "har$e of the whole kin$do# Ja"ob , (othiphar, the
prison keeper and (haroh were all different people with different
personalities but Joseph had fa%our with all of the# /he fa%our of God and
#an in the life of Joseph was powerful se"ret of his fruitfulness
3. FAITHFULNESS IN HIS RESPONSIBILITIES

Joseph was faithful in all his responsibilities .hen his brothers were
doin$ e%il he was faithfull, reportin$ it to his father !e did not )oin
his brothers in their e%il nor did he hide their e%il doin$s fro# his father !e
was "on"erned about his fa#il,&s honour!e "ontinued to be faithful
e%en when he was a sla%e in (othiphar&s house (othiphar was not
inspe"tin$ the work of Joseph *ut Joseph was faithful e%en when no one
was wat"hin$ his work !is a#a1in$ faithfulness "ontinued e%en in
prison where he was thrown on false a""usations !e did not $i%e up his
faithfulness as a result of his bitter e2perien"e !e did not 3uestion whether
it was worth bein$ faithful after his faithfulness in (otiphars house onl,
landed hi# in prison !is faithfulness re#ained "onstant and the prison
keeper had a %er, rela2ed life as Joseph took "har$e of e%er,thin$ and did
his work effi"ientl, and su""essfull, !is faithfulness in all his responsibilities
was a powerful se"ret of his fruitfulness
4. FEAR OF GOD

Joseph had the fear of God in his heart /he wife of (othiphar was
"onstantl, te#ptin$ hi# to ha%e an i##oral relationship with
her *ut Joseph "onsistentl, refused her ad%an"es !is #ain ar$u#ent was

no #an was present to witness their sin Joseph was pri#aril, "on"erned
about sinnin$ a$ainst God who was wat"hin$ hi# all the ti#e /herefore he
refused to ,ield to her te#ptation and fled fro# her /he fear of
God was a $reat prote"tion in the life of Joseph and brou$ht hi# the
abundant blessin$s of God
5. FORGIVING NATURE

Joseph had a for$i%in$ heart !e had no bitterness or resent#ent
a$ainst those who har#ed hi# !is brothers had "aused untold
sufferin$ in his life !e had pleaded with his brothers not to send hi# into
sla%er, *ut his brothers did not show #er", to hi# e%en thou$h the, saw
the an$uish of his heart (othipar&s wife had falsel, a""used hi# 5t
#ust ha%e been %er, painful for a #orall, upri$ht person like Joseph to be

help hi# "o#e out of prison !e suffered in prison *ut inspite of all

not tied down b, a spirit of an$er and %en$ean"e !e for$a%e his brothers
wholeheartedl, 6 bitter attitude would ha%e surel, ruined his life and
destro,ed his happiness and fruitfulness !is for$i%in$ nature was a powerful
se"ret of his fruitfulness

Joseph had fortitude and enduran"e !e did not $et dis"oura$ed
and ba"kslide !e waited for God&s ti#e !e "o##itted e%er,thin$ to God
and endured till the end !e endured
