Oversight procedures are the procedures used for the analysis of specific project
activities and documentation to determine if the project is on track to be completed
within the estimated schedule and cost, quality and will provide the required
functionality

Objectives
1. To determine and list the oversight procedures required for the duration of a
construction project.
2. To identify the oversight procedures utilized for a completed construction
project
3. To evaluate whether the oversight procedures used were effective in the
completion of the project.

Initiating
Project Initiation Phase
The goal of the project initiation phase is to get approval from the customers, management,
and other stakeholders to begin planning.
Project Overview
The project overview summarizes what the project is suppose to achieve the business value
it provides, the work it entails, and how you know when its done.
The project overview includes:
1. Problem or Opportunity Description A description of the problem or opportunity
that the proposed project will address
2. Project Goals and Objectives(business, financial, performance, technical, quality).
Also good objectives are specific, measurable or verifiable, achievable and time-
related
3. Project Strategy
4. Gather Requirements
Identify alternative project strategies
5. Deliverable and success criteria
6. Assumptions and risks

Planning Process
Planning is the process of forecasting future outcomes that may be certain or unknown.
Planning Process Steps required for a construction project includes:
1. Establishing objectives
Objectives should be defined for the entire organization after which, broken down from
top down into a set of specific objectives relevant for each level of organizational
activity. The best scenario is to have objectives set out jointly by subordinates and their
superior across different levels of the organization.
2. Forecasting
Forecasting includes the estimation of future controllable and uncontrollable conditions
such as political and social
3. Examining Resources
4. Establishing Policies
5. Developing alternatives
6. Creating procedures and rules
7. Establishing budgets
8. Establishing time tables
9. Determining required standards
