7. An Alternator runs at 250 rpm & generates Emf at 50Hz, there are 216 slots each
containing 5 conductors. The winding is Distributed & full pitch. All the
conductors of each phase are in series &flux per pole is 30 mWb which is sinosidally
distributed if the Winding is star connected. Determine the value of induced emf
available across terminals. (12)

Synchronization of Single phase Alternator.

10) i) A 3 Phase ,16 pole alternator has a star -connected winding with 144 slots
&10 conductors per slot. The flux per pole is 0.03Wb, sinsoidally distributed & the
speed is 375 rpm. Find the Frequency, rpm & the Phase & line E.M.F. Assume Full
pitched coil. (8)
ii) Calculate the Distribution factor for a 36 slots,4- pole, single layer three phase
winding. (4)
