TheprovisionsoftheGunControlActof1968(18 USC922)relatetoanypersonwhohas
beenconvictedofacrimepunishablebyimprisonmentforoneyearorlonger,whetherornot
suchsentencewasactuallyimposedorserved. Underthoseprovisions.noprobationer,parolee,
mandatoryreleasee,orpersononsupervisedreleasemaypurchase,carry,ownorpossess
firearmsorammunition. Additionally,noonethathasbeenconvictedof suchanoffensemay
possessafirearm subsequenttothecompletionoftheirsentence.
Theonlyrelieffrom thisprovision,fortherestofyourlife,isbysecuringaPresidentialPardon
whichmuststateyourrighttobeararmshasbeenexpresslyrestored. Proceedingstosecurea
Presidential PardoncanbecommencedthroughtheOfficeofthePardonAttorney, 1425New
YorkAvenue.N.W.,Suite 11000,WashingtonD.C. 20530.
AlthoughthisnotificationpertainsspecificallytoFederalfirearmsandammunitionrestrictions,
youshouldagainberemindedthatasaconditionof yourconditionalrelease(probation,parole,
ortermof supervisedrelease)youareorderedtoabidebyallfederal. state,andlocallaws. A
personconvictedofafelonyinanystateorfederal courtmaynot possessafirearm. Neb.Rev.
Stat. 28-1206(1).(2)andTitle 18USC 922(g)(l). TheBureauof Alcohol,Tobacco,and
Firearms,aU.S.TreasuryDepartmentagency,nolongerauthorizesrelieffromfirearms
restrictions.
