Psalm 103 (104)
Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord, my God, you are very great.
You are lothed in praise and honor! who overs yourself with
light as with a garment, spreading out the heavens as a urtain.
You over your hambers with the waters! you ma"e the louds
your hariot! you wal" on the wings of the wind, you ma"e the
angels spirits, and your ministers a flaming fire. You established
the earth on its sure foundation! it shall never be moved. You
overed it with the deep as with a garment! the waters shall stand
on the hills. At your rebu"e they shall flee! at the voie of your
thunder they shall be alarmed. #hey go up to the mountains and
down to the plains, to the plae whih you founded for them. You
have set a boundary whih they shall not pass, neither shall they
turn again to over the earth. You send forth fountains among the
valleys! the waters shall run between the mountains. #hey shall
give drin" to all the beasts of the field! the wild don"eys shall
$uenh their thirst. By them the birds of the heavens shall have
their habitation! they shall sing among the ro"s.
You water the mountains from your hambers! the earth is
satisfied with the fruit of your mirales. You ma"e grass grow for
the attle, and vegetation for the servie of man that you may
bring bread out of the earth, and wine that gladdens the heart of
man, oil to ma"e his fae heerful, and bread whih strengthens
man%s heart. #he trees of the plain shall be full of sap, even the
edars of Lebanon whih you have planted. #here birds will build
their nests! the stor" has her home in the fir trees. #he high
mountains are a refuge for stags, and the ro" for the rabbits. You
appointed the moon for seasons! the sun "nows his going down.
You ma"e dar"ness and it is night! in it all the wild beasts of the
forest will reep about. Young lions roar for prey, and see" their
food from God. #he sun rises, and they gather together, and lie
down in their dens. &an goes forth to his wor", and to his labor
until the evening.
O Lord, how great are your wor"s. 'n wisdom you have made
them all. #he earth is filled with your reation. #his great and wide
sea, in whih are innumerable living things both small and great.
#here sail the ships, and there is Leviathan whih you have made
to play there. All wait for you, to give them their food in due
season. (hen you give it to them, they will gather it up! when you
open your hand, they shall be filled with goodness. But when you
have turned away your fae, they shall be troubled. (hen you
ta"e away their breath, they fail, and return to their dust. You sent
forth your )pirit, and they are reated! and you renew the fae of
the earth. &ay the glory of the Lord endure forever! may the Lord
re*oie in his wor"s! who loo"s upon the earth and ma"es it
tremble! who touhes the mountains and they smo"e. ' will sing
praises to the Lord all my life! ' will sing praises to my God as long
as ' live. &ay my meditation be sweet to him! ' will re*oie in the
Lord. &ay sinners and wi"ed men disappear from the earth and
may they be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
#he sun "nows its going down. You ma"e dar"ness, and it is
night. O Lord, how great are your wor"s. 'n wisdom you have
made them all.
