I do (5 minute limit):
--Review: Teacher will briefly explain how current fitness concepts already covered in class
apply to the fitness unit. Teacher will address new fitness concepts.
--New:
1. Teacher will explain that students will be run at a set pace run; teacher will signal that students will

I do:
--Students will listen to directions while in listening position and at
a level zero.

What does
the index card

mean? What
options do you
have for each
section of the
workout? How
long can you
rest? What
should you do
if you complete
one part of the
workout?
We do (guided practice):
-Flags: Teacher will have class divide into 4 groups. Each group will be taken to a different corner of the
gym area (sectioned for push-ups, sit-ups, jumps, j-jacks).
-Practice: Teacher will have student groups practice a few reps at each set area and use cues as to when
to begin. Teacher will have students practice moving on to a different area.
-Expectations: Teacher will explain that students will be able to talk at a level 1 if they are engaged in
the exercise with proper effort and technique; failure to meet expectation will result in a silent
workout.
We do (guided practice):
- Students will engage in the demonstration, only moving on the
teacher cues.

What are the
start and stop
signals? What are
you supposed to
do when teacher
says to go? What
are the
expectations for
volume, effort,
and performance?
How can we show
championship
attitude in the
activity?
You do (@ Bats):
