MBA PROJECT OUTLINE 2014


Objectives
To enable students of MBA (Case study) Program to work on Managerial level projects that
will contribute in an organizational growth.

Introduction
The five (05) months MBA Project is an essential part of the MBA program initiated by Sukkur
Institute of Business Administration, in which students will exercise their skills which they
have learned during their academic career.

MBA-Project provides a great opportunity to organizations to use the expertise and creativity
of young and dynamic students of Sukkur IBA by assigning them the consulting or research
projects. For the students, it is a great opportunity to not only enhance their managerial and
leadership skills but also contribute to an organization in terms of resolving their real issues.
It is a platform created by Sukkur IBA to not only expose the students along with faculty to
resolve the managerial issues of organizations but also contribute in and link with the
organizations.

Major Project Areas
The projects could cover any issue Atlas Honda would require in-depth analysis including
the following key areas:
New Ventures / Feasibility Studies
Financial Analysis
Customer Research
Management Control Systems
Human Resource
Strategic Analysis & Management
Marketing Strategy
Supply Chain Management
Any other project proposed by Atlas Honda
The projects would be conducted under the close supervision of an advisor from Atlas Honda

Project Benefits for Atlas Honda
There are wide-ranging and numerous benefits of the MBA Projects, which include, but are
not limited to, the following:
Cost is minimal compared to the cost that will be incurred on engaging a professional
consulting firm for delivering innovative solutions.
Student can also utilize the extensive resources available at the Sukkur IBA including
expertise of the faculty member for Atlas Honda
Final report is the result of months of extensive groundwork with member of actively
contributing towards its finalization. Atlas Honda can thus benefit greatly from the
substantial outcome.


Expectations from Atlas Honda:
Atlas Honda is requested to,
Provide the Sukkur IBA a brief description of their requirements and scope of the
Project through meetings with students at Atlas Honda decided venue.
Provide name and contact details of the individual in the organization who will be
contacted by the group involved in the Project including to facilitate access, where
necessary, to the relevant Atlas Honda material and information.
Preferably meet the financial cost incurred on the project including travel and
accommodation cost, if any.

Responsibilities of Sukkur IBA Students
The responsibilities of the Sukkur IBA would include:
The Sukkur IBA students would select a Project of Atlas Honda which will satisfy
mutual interest.
Prepare proposal in consultation with Atlas Honda designated officials
Submit a progress report on given time to Atlas Honda, besides an interim report, in
order to enhance students communication with the firm.
Ensure the confidentiality of business operations.
Ensure quality and professionalism in all deliverables
Sukkur IBA will keep track of the Projects progress and ensure the assigned member
delivers the final report within the stipulated deadline after completion of all the
mandatory stages.

Methodology
Followings steps outline the process of Project methodology,
1. Initially student will prepare a project proposal (terms of reference) based on
discussions with the Atlas Honda officials, for which a preliminary meeting of
students is requested with officials.
2. Student presents the proposal and work plan before the faculty committee at Sukkur
IBA and Project Adviser at Atlas Honda.
3. On completion of the project a project report will be submitted and an oral presentation
will be made at Atlas Honda and Sukkur IBA.
4. Based on Atlas Honda and Sukkur IBA faculty committee's feedback a final written
report will be submitted to all and for final grading.
5. A faculty committee (chaired by the project coordinators) guide and monitor the project
throughout the project term. This includes reviewing the terms of reference & work
plan, the progress report, and the final presentation and project report.
6. Students will work in groups, maximum limit is of 03 students per group, whereas the
group formation and minimum and maximum number of students may change as per
the requirements and instructions of Atlas Honda

Timeline for Project

Month Activity
January/
February

Students study Atlas Honda through information available on web.


Students meet with Atlas Honda officials for discussion on finalizing
project proposal in the first week of January.


Atlas Honda assigns an advisor to the students


Students submit a draft on Terms of Reference (TOR) & Work Plan
to Atlas Honda advisor and Sukkur IBA.


The work on project starts.
March

Students to submit Progress Report to Atlas Honda and Sukkur IBA


Presentation of the interim Progress Report at Atlas Honda and
Sukkur IBA.


Students to submit the feedback of Atlas Honda to Sukkur IBA.
May/ June

Student to Submit Final Report and Presentation to Atlas Honda and
Sukkur IBA.


Final presentation of the TOR & Work Plan to Atlas Honda and
Sukkur IBA.
