For the last six years, Kelly Mitchell has worked in the Treasurer of States Office
as the Director of TrustINdiana, Indianas local government investment pool with
assets reaching as high as one billion dollars. She is proud to be part of the team
at the State Treasurers office that has navigated those rough economic years,
never for a moment endangering a penny of the money of the people of Indiana.
In these six years, Kelly has thoroughly learned the responsibilities of the
Treasurer of States office as she has traveled the state working closely with local
elected fiscal officials.

Prior to joining the Indiana Treasurer of States Office, Kelly was a County
Commissioner for two terms in Cass County, Indiana. There she served as
President of the Board of Commissioners for five of the eight years she held
office. In 2000, Kelly was named First-Term Commissioner of the Year by the
Association of County Commissioners. While Commissioner, she also served on
the State Board of the Association of County Commissioners for three years, as
well as serving as a member of the County Government Senate Study
Commission.

Also while Commissioner, Kelly served seven years on the Logansport-Cass
County Economic Development Commission, one of those years as President of
the Commission. She also founded and co-chaired Cass County Make a
Difference Day, managing hundreds of volunteers and dozens of projects every
year. By virtue of office, she also served on the County Drainage Board and the
Solid Waste Management District Board.

During her years in Cass County, Kelly was involved in the local Republican Party
and served as the President of the Cass County Republican Womens Club for two
years. She was honored as the Cass County Republican Woman of the Year in
2000 and has served as a delegate to the State Convention three times.

Kelly currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Larry. She has two
children, Chloe and Colin. Chloe is currently studying Public Health
Administration at Indiana University and Colin is studying Math and French at
Wabash College. She and her husband are involved in their church, Common
Ground Christian Church, in Indianapolis.

Kelly holds a B.A. in Political Science from Valparaiso University and a M.A. in
Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis
(IUPUI). She is an alumna of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service
Series.
