A true energy efficient IP65

waterproof solution
Why corridor dimming?
In areas where the transition to
abrupt darkness is unsuitable,
the Corridor Dimming option
is the preferred choice as the
light is smoothly dimmed to a
lower ambient lighting level
when the area is vacated,
thus maintaining substantial
energy savings and a safe and
comfortable environment for
those using the space.
ImpactForce II
Our successful Impactforce II range is now available with integral
microwave sensors, offering the following benefits:
Range flexibility On/Off or Corridor dimming options
Maximum energy saving automatic sensing
Comfortable and safe lit environments corridor dimming
Tailored customer sensor setting
Ideal for retrofit installations

Installation/Mounting
Cable entry positions at the back
and each end of the tting. Supplied
with IP65 grommet. Stainless steel
quick-x brackets supplied with each
luminaire. Stainless steel toggles are
captive in the canopy to prevent loss
during maintenance, and steel gear
tray is retained by spring latches.
BESA box and conduit mounting,
chain suspension and catenary
suspension kits, plus through wire
kits are all available as accessories.
LSOH cabling as standard. Suitable
for all indoor plus external under
cover only applications. Sensor
options can be mounted from 2.5
to 6m and offer simple functionality,
including 2 seconds to 20 minutes
delay time, 20% to 100% sensitivity
adjustments. The Corridor Dimming
facility (dims from 100% to 10%)
must be activated on-site by ensuring
the delay time is set to maximum and
the luminaire is powered for more
than 5 minutes. It is recommended
that on-site setting is carried out
on the installation to avoid any
unnecessary switching.
Note: Microwave sensors are
vibration sensitive, therefore careful
consideration should be given
to their installation method and
application environment.

Energy efciency - Good through life payback opportunities
A control option will substantially cut energy
consumption and reduce bills!
Projects employing Impactforce II luminaires with microwave sensors offer a quick payback. When we
compare a scheme using luminaires each tted with a sensor against a standard high frequency xed
output solution, payback is short with good energy saving potential.
Figure 1 shows payback is less than 1 year for On/Off control and less than 1.5 years for Corridor
Dimming control.
As illustrated in Figure 2, operating Impactforce II luminaires with On/Off or Corridor Dimming sensor
controls over the lifetime of the project will reduce costs by 36% and 28% respectively.
When comparing the average energy consumption per m and year (kWh/m
2
/a) in Figure 3, the On/
Off control option uses 50% less energy and the Corridor Dimming control option uses 40% less energy.
Assumptions: Sample indoor multi-storey car park project operating 92 luminaires, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week with 50%
occupancy over a 15 year installation lifetime.
