3GPP Conformance Test
These sample tests show some of the selected test cases out of 36.523.
The 3GNets team can provide similarly all the test cases in real live network & LAB.
The tests results will show if the functioal tests are pass/fail and performance of
the Handset and/or Network at various L1, L2, L3 modules in AS and NAS.
The report here shows some tests how the Huawei LTE data card has fared in
Airtels LTE rel-9 Network.

Samples of Conformance Tests 36.523..1

6.1.2.4.1 (Cell Re-Selection)- UE in E-UTRA RRC_IDLE. When UE detects the cell ranked as the
best cell - then { UE reselects the new cell }

8.1.1.1.1 (Paging)- when UE receives Paging with an ue-Identity set to S-TMSI which was
allocated to the UE at the UE registration procedure -then { UE establishes an RRC connection }

8.1.3.6.1 (Redirection)- UE in E-UTRA RRC_CONNECTED. When { UE receives
RRCConnectionRelease including redirectionInformation with utra-CarrierFreq UTRA frequency
- then {UE enters RRC_IDLE on UTRA frequency included in IE redirectionInformation }

8.2.1.7.1 (SRB2 establishment)- UE in E-UTRA RRC_CONNECTED without SRB2 & NW sends
RRCConnectionReconfiguration including SRB2 configuration - then { UE successfully establish
the signalling radio bearer }

2
Samples of Conformance Tests 36.523..2

8.2.2.2.1 (SRB reconfig)-UE in E-UTRA RRC_CONNECTED. When UE receives
RRCConnectionReconfiguration containing SRB reconfiguration - then { UE reconfigures affected
SRBs and sends RCConnectionReconfigurationComplete}

8.2.4.1.1 (Handover with RachConfig) - UE having completed radio bearer establishment and
initial security activation & performed intra frequency measurement. when UE receives an
RRCConnectionReconfiguration including a mobilityControlInfo with a rach-ConfigDedicated -
then { UE transmits an RRCConnectionReconfigurationComplete message }

8.3.1.5 (A3 Meas Report)- UE in E-UTRA RRC_CONNECTED & configured for A3. When {
Neighbour becomes offset better than serving } - then { UE sends MeasurementReport with
measId for event A3 }.

8.5.1.4 (RLF & TAU) - UE in E-UTRA RRC_CONNECTED with default bearer established and radio
link failure was detected and UE initiates re-establishment. When UE receives a
RRCConnectionReestablishmentReject - then { UE goes to RRC_IDLE and trigger TAU procedure
in order to recover RRC connection }

3
6.1.2.4.1-Cell Reselection
With { UE in E-UTRA RRC_IDLE state }

ensure that
{ when { UE detects the cell ranked as the best cell }

then { UE reselects the new cell }

Neighbour Ranking Evaluation
Q

Averaged RSRP value
Q offset For intra-freq: Equals to Qoffsets,n, if Qoffsets,n is valid, otherwise zero.
For inter-freq: Equals to Qoffsets,n + Qoffsetfreq if Qoffsets,n is valid, otherwise only Qoffsetfreq
Cell selection criteria Srxlev > 0
SIB3 Cell Reselection Parameters
Layer 3 message Message content
Serving and Neighbour Cell Measurement
Neighbour Cell Ranking Better
Final Analysis
Cell selection criteria Srxlev >0
Serving cell measurements Rs=Qmeas,s + Qhyst
-110dbm + 4 = -106dbm
Neighboring cell measurements

Rn = Qmeas, n Qoffset
Cell1(id- 385, Srxlev=23) = -104.25dbm
Cell 2(id-0, srxlev =-18 ) = 8.5dbm
Cell3 (id-511, srxlev=-26) = -180.0dbm

Only cell1 qualifies as the candidate cell with
S>0 and also its ranking greater than the
serving cell.
Hence finally UE camps on cell1 with cell id
385 and that becomes the serving cell
