AGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & GLOBALIZATION (LOCAL)
1.) Cross- country transfer of standards
Builders today have already integrated international standards to
make their structures stand out and align to what the global community
already follows. For example, the SM Aura Premier, a shopping mall
located at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines, owned by SM Prime
Holdings, the country's largest mall developer. It is designed by EDGE
Interior Designers and Arquitectonica, an
international architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and urban
planning corporation. The development includes a multi-level green roof
which apart from its environmental advantages also provides a much
needed green and communal space in Metro Manilas dense cityscape. It
will contain al fresco bars & restaurants, sculpture and botanical gardens
and a 1,000-seat performance hall. The design doesnt fully incorporate the
local building standards in the Philippines because it is out of human scale,
the whole structure itself is too huge compare to
its neighboring buildings.

2.) Localization of Imported Technology
Container vans, those huge steel boxes that can carry
any type of cargo, have long been fixtures on Metro Manila's
major roads. The container as a home isn't a radical concept, it
started from western countries and is now brought to Manila.
After all, in this day and age, the impoverished of Metro Manila
people have no choice but to live in pedicabs and unused giant
drainage pipes. Compared to these makeshift homes, the
container van is a luxury villa. With a container van, you don't
require much construction work. You just buy it and put in some
modifications to turn it into a comfortable dwelling. Put in
windows, utilities, and beds. You get to register roughly 30
percent in savings as compared to constructing an entirely new
two-storey building. And the container is made of steel, so it's
very durable. It's also environment-friendly since discarded
containers are recycled and given a new lease in life.

3.) Service Economy
The service economy in developing countries is mostly
concentrated in financial
services, hospitality, retail, health, human services, information
technology and education. Here in the Philippines, Business
process outsourcing or BPO is a growing industry. In 2011 the
Philippines was the country with the highest number of
employees at call centers, with about 400,000. This boom is led
by demand for lower labor costs, a highly skilled and educated
work force, and high proficiency in spoken English. In the Philippines, call centers began as providers of
business email response and m anaging services. The call center sector comprises 80% of the total BPO
industry in the country. With 80% of the call services provided for the US market.

4.) Re-definition of the Workplace
Disruptive technologies and shifting
demographics are redefining the workforce. In response, smart
companies are reinventing workplace learning in an effort to
make their programs more relevant and effective, and to create a
culture that encourages continuous learning and develops
innovative leaders at all levels of the organization. Today,
workplace learning has achieved mission-critical status. In the
very near future, workplace learning will be about social collaboration, team-based activities, and
decentralized peer-to-peer learning. Learning will be mobile, and access will be continuous and
instantaneous. Workers will attend fewer scheduled classes and online training sessions. Instead, short
videos, game-like simulations, and peer communities that offer networking, information sharing and
informal coaching will engage and motivate workers by delivering anyplace, anytime learning.

5.) Land Purification
Land reclamation, usually known as reclamation, and also known as land fill (not to be confused
with a landfill), is the process of creating new land from ocean, riverbeds, or lake. The land reclaimed is
known as reclamation ground or land fill. The shore of Manila Bay in the Philippines, especially
along Metro Manila, has attracted major developments such as the Mall of Asia Complex and the Cultural
Centre of the Philippines Complex.

AGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & GLOBALIZATION (FOREIGN)
1.) Cross- country transfer of standards
Hong Kong Disneyland is located on reclaimed
land in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island. It is the first theme
park located inside the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and is
owned and managed by the Hong Kong International Theme
Parks. The park consists of seven themed areas: Main Street,
U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Grizzly
Gulch, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land. The theme park's
cast members speak in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
Guide maps are printed in traditional and simplified Chinese
as well as English, French, and Japanese.

2.) Localization of Imported Technology
The common denominator of Pony, Nylon, Aerotrain, Burj Khalifa is
that they were the leading roles and technologies that made once the poorest
country, South Korea, with GDP $67 right after 6.25 into Korea with GDP
20,000 dollars in sixty years.
The National Academy of Engineering of Korea threw the award ceremony
for 100 Technology and Leading Roles of South Korea at Shilla Hotel on
16th. The 100 technologies strengthened the foundation of Korean industry
and led the development economy over the sixty years after the Korean War.
Their areas included but not limited to semiconductor, cars, cell
phone, shipbuilding, and steel industry. Nylon that accomplished innovated
textile industry in 1950 to 1970; Pony the first original Korean car; Memory
semiconductor that is still the top of the world; Kiturami boiler that is Korean
floor heating system; Gyeongbu highway; Samsungs world best building
Burj Khalifa; Korean Aerotrain with 350km/hr, they are all familiar to the
general public.

3.) Service Economy
Digital architecture uses computer
modelling, programming, simulation and imaging to create
both virtual forms and physical structures. The terminology has
also been used to refer to other aspects of architecture that
feature digital technologies. Digital architecture allows
complex calculations that delimit architects and allow a diverse
range of complex forms to be created with great ease using
computer algorithms. The new genre of "scripted, iterative, and
indexical architecture" produces a proliferation of formal
outcomes, leaving the designer the role of selection and
increasing the possibilities in architectural design. This has "re-
initiated a debate regarding curvilinearity, expressionism and
role of technology in society" leading to new forms of non-
standard architecture by architects such as Zaha Hadid.

4.) Re-definition of the Workplace
The internet, social media and mobile technologies are
igniting massive changes in business world. These
transformations are defining the Future of Business and at the
same time, defining the workplace of the future. Imagine
working in an office that looks like a spaceship, or perhaps one
thats part rainforest. Just think of the ideas you could come up
with while. It may sound too good to be true, but for Google
employees around the world, imaginative and unusual designer
workspaces are a daily reality. Google offices are great
examples of work environments with a differe nce. Looking at
these photographs, you get the impression that designers have
been allowed to let their creativity run wild. Theyve managed
to come up with environments that are inspirational and
conducive to work, yet comfortable and inviting at the same
time. Its a far cry from the way we tend to picture the daily
grind, and with such variety, theres sure to be something for
everyone.

5.) Land Purification
Major land reclamation in the United Arab Emirates, though a relatively recent phenomenon, has
significantly changed the geography of many parts of the country. Some of the largest and most innovative land
reclamation projects have occurred in the UAE. Countless land reclamation projects, both completed, under
construction, and planned, have changed the appearance of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other emirates and helped to
make them world-famous.
