ACTIVITY TUESDAY: Math Area Focus: Number Words and Numerals Universal Math Screen Score: 0-1 Children: 18 children whos performance is below grade level. 7 Girls 11 Boys Mini Lesson: Sequencing w/ non-sequential (p.41) Objective: Sequencing 2 digit numbers successfully while crossing over the decade. Large Group Game: (10 Minutes) Count Around: Children count from 33 to 56. When child gets to 56 they sit and counting sequence begins again until there is only one child remaining (Children split into two groups and rotate @ 20minutes) Grp. 1: (20 Minutes) Mystery Number: Order numbers from smallest to largest. Children with the two highest numbers begin. Children stand where they think go, without showing the rest of the group their number. The rest of the children must use what they know about comparing numbers using greater than and less than to guess the mystery number. The process continues until all children are standing in a sequential number line. Grp 2: Independent Practice on IPADS: 1.) Guess the number on the 1-120 Chart 2.) Race to 50 sequencing game First Grade Collaboration Weekly Plans: Math Intervention Intervention Math Activities April 28th-May 2nd ACTIVITY WEDNESDAY Math Area Focus: Structuring Number to 10 & 20 Universal Math Screen Score: 2-3 Children: 9 children whos performance is at grade level. 6 Girls 3 Boys Mini Lesson: Structuring Numbers. Review number patterns that equal 10. Using twenty frame demonstrate how students can use what they know about structuring to ten to easily structure to twenty Grp 1: Dice Game: I have____, I need____to get to 20. Children play with partners. They role the dice, say the number rolled, and what number goes with it to equal 20. *Student have the option of using counters and 20 frame cards as an aid if needed. Grp 2: Structure to Go Fish: Using number cards 0-10, student make pairs by matching two cards that equal ten. They must say I have a____, I need a_____ to make 10, and ask a specific friend for the needed card. THURSDAY Math Area Focus: Addition and Subtraction Universal Math Screen Score: 1-2 Children: 10 children whos performance is below grade level. 6 Girls 4 Boys Mini Lesson: Jump Strategy Objective to complete addition and subtraction problems using Non-Count-By-One Strategies Grp 1: Addition Domino Train 1.) Each child works with a partner and gets six cards. 2. The player with the domino labeled Start places it in the center of the table. 3. Player 2 tries to match a domino card to the end of the Start card. If a match is found the player adds the domino card to the train and completes the math talk sentence: The sum of __ plus __ is ___. If a match is not found the player misses a turn. 4. Keep taking turns until all the dominoes have been used. Grp 2: 1&2 +/- Dice Game with 100 Chart. 1. Children build a two digit number by flipping over two (1-9) number cards. 2. Role the Dice and find the number on the corresponding number on the chart. First Grade Collaboration Weekly Plans: Math Intervention
