Whatever it takes . . . . .
!eginning with the summer of )--). the /I0
passed a new rule stating coaches from a
high school may condition athletes from
their home school during the summer
break.
1his pro2ides our coaching staff the
opportunity to culti2ate a comprehensi2e
strength and speed program that will
enable our athletes to de2elop the
e3plosi2e power needed to e3cel in their
sport and impro2e o2erall athletic ability.
Since )--). ,,$S has had the largest
student4athlete participation of all the high
schools. %e look forward to. once again.
helping our Dragon athletes become
5uicker. stronger. and faster than e2er in
)-(6.
1he Dragon E3plosi2e Power Program will
be structured to enhance the athletes'
foundation as well as focus on setting and
obtaining goals. 7oung athletes who
participate in sport performance training
ha2e fewer in8uries during their athletic
careers.
Instruction gi2en during the Dragon
E3plosi2e Power Program will be
generali9ed and not sport specific. E2en
though the instruction will be generali9ed.
e2ery sport uses the same basic
foundations such as sprinting. lateral
mo2ements. weight lifting. agility. and
8umping.

interest or assigns for all personal in8uries. known or

property. real or personal. caused by or arising out of
participation in athletics including tra2el and related
acti2ities.

1he ,,ISD #thletic Department does not
pro2ide athletic insurance for athletes. 1he #thletic
Department and ,,ISD recommends that each
athlete ha2e their own insurance. 1he District
contracts with an insurance agent to pro2ide 2arious
insurance co2erage policies that can be purchased by
indi2iduals at the beginning of the school year. I
understand that ,,ISD will not pro2ide insurance for
my child while in athletics and that any in8ury
sustained by my child will be my sole financial
responsibility.
