(Categorized by Career Fields)
In-depth instruction to prepare students
for a career in nearly 70 career majors in 31
career fields. Most Career Majors are offered
Monday-Friday and provide both full-time and
part-time scheduling options for students.
Adults enrolled full-time typically
finish a career major within one year,
while high school students generally
attend part-time and complete
their major in two school years.
Most Career Majors are eligible for adult
students to apply for financial aid. For more
information visit the Financial Aid - Grants
& Scholarships page under the Enrollment
heading at www.mntechnology.com.
An advisement session with either a
Career Advisor or Tech Rep is required
prior to applying for all Career Majors.

Short-Term Classes

Continuing Education (CEU)

Training for those seeking a new career, or


who want to enhance existing skills within a
minimal amount of time. Classes are offered
part-time during the day, evening, and
weekends.

Professional development classes designed


to help learners maintain professional
credentials.

Classes allow individuals to continue


learning, take accredited classes, achieve

credit, while also managing a busy
lifestyle. Many classes may be taken
in sequence to build a career path.

FlexTrack

Students in our Short-Term Classes range


from 16 years of age to seasoned adult.

Unique learning format developed for busy


adults. Students set their course schedules and
work at their own pace while our instructors
provide individualized attention. Students
may enroll anytime with courses starting each
Monday. Completion time varies depending on
each course.

Instructors are employed based on


education, related work experience,
and industry certifications.

Private Security Guard Phase I, II, & III


Private Security Guard Phase I is required for all
security guard license applicants. Instruction is
provided in writing reports, responding to fire
emergencies, first aid applications, and provisions
of the Oklahoma Security Guard and Private
Investigator Act. This course is designed to prepare
you for the State of Oklahoma examination for
armed and unarmed private security licensure.
Phase I also constitutes partial fulfillment of
Private Investigator licensure.
Private Security Guard Phase II is required for
all armed and unarmed security guard license
applicants. Instruction is provided in good public
relations skills, performing patrol duties, working
fixed-post assignments, and investigating
security incidents.

Estate Sales Associate Licensing Examination that is
given by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. The
course provides a basic foundation in real estate and is
recommended for anyone associated with the real estate
industry. Upon successful completion of this course,
the student may sit for the state examination. Upon
passing the examination, the student will be issued a
provisional sales associate license. This license will be
valid for one year, including the month of issuance. The
Provisional sales licensee will be required to complete
Part II of the Basic Sales Education Requirement (re400)
within the twelve month license term and provide proof
of completion before license expiration. You will remain
a provisional associate for a period of one year.

solve problems, and connect with people. Our
Computer FlexTrack courses are in a self-paced,
individualized format that meet the needs of
busy adult students. The Computer FlexTrack
courses offer self-paced learning and flexible
scheduling. Students may even do some of
their work from home. Our classes incorporate
real life projects using self-paced books with
step-by-step instructions. Texts contain extra
practice exercises and repetition to facilitate
learning. Students can earn college credit for
some classes. FlexTrack classes are developed
on a level to help students prepare to pass the
Microsoft Certification tests. The Computer
FlexTrack classes are offered at the South Penn
Campus. New classes begin every Monday.
Students have 20 weeks from their enrollment
date to complete their class. Tutoring available

In this program, students learn and apply theories


of commercial refrigeration, electric heating and
air conditioning to real-life, in-the-field situations.
Subjects include: proper and efficient methods
of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting,
sequences of operation for residential heating, air
conditioning, and commercial refrigeration systems,
including commercial ice machines. The correct
use of testing and diagnostic instruments, correct
procedures for preventive maintenance, service and
repair of commercial refrigeration, electric heating,
and air conditioning. This will involve developing a
functional understanding of basic electrical circuitry,
series and parallel circuits, system components,
controls and loads. To obtain a Journeymans License
in the State of Oklahoma, you must apprentice for
three (3) years. With a certificate from MNTC, you
will only have to apprentice for two (2) years, if you
complete HVAC I and HVAC II.

In this comprehensive program, students will


learn the theory of refrigeration, the components
of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating
systems, and the proper installation, diagnostic,
and servicing procedures for these systems.
Students will learn the correct application and
proper use of tools and instruments relative to this
field and will be expected to identify and follow
prescribed safety procedures while working in the
lab. Hands-on, authentic learning experiences
are emphasized in this program. Regulatory and
environmental issues will also be addressed,
including an on-going review of the current
International Mechanical and Fuel Gas Codes.
Students will also have the opportunity to test and
earn their EPA certification.
To obtain a Journeymans License in the state of

This certified personal training program is


designed to educate those individuals who wish
to work in the fitness industry on a one-on-one
basis as a certified personal trainer (NFPA-CPT).
Using a variety of teaching techniques, NFPAs
personal training staff will educate students in
the safe and effective methods of exercise by
applying the fundamental principles of exercise
science, biomechanical implications, and applied
kinesiology. This course prepares the student to

Students will learn to machine piece several different
blocks. These blocks can be assembled into a table
runner; wall hanging, or lap quilt. A supply list will be

Learn to custom fit ready-made clothes as well as


alter clothing and patterns. This class is suited to
the home sewer and also prepares students for
the professional training provided in Tailoring and
Alteration II. Students will learn on professional
equipment or may use home equipment depending
on their particular career goals. Students will work
in pairs and be asked to bring clothes they own or
can purchase inexpensively to allow their partner to
make the appropriate alterations as part of their class
assignments.

Do you have a favorite jacket or blouse? Now is


the time to learn how to make a pattern from that
garment without taking it apart. You will learn
some basics in pattern making, and increase your
skills in sewing. Students should bring a garment
that they would like to make a pattern from such as
a simple blouse or jacket. Students are encouraged
to bring their own machines.

need people to do tailoring and alterations. If
you have some experience as a sewer and are
interested in a career in the field as an employee
or a business owner, check out MNTCs new

techniques. Learn about standard shooting modes,
image quality, and image size, white balance, ISO,
shutter speed and aperture settings, exposure
metering modes, exposure compensation, media

manual focusing. Learn the use of shutter speed
and aperture settings to achieve a proper exposure
and use the cameras histogram feature to evaluate
photographs as they are made. Camera equipment
and lighting will be discussed as well as what
makes photographs interesting. A brief overview of
photo-editing techniques is also covered. The class
will meet one session at a local place of interest
to practice making use of what has been learned
in class and to ask questions of the instructor
regarding issues and difficultiesencounteredin the
field. Owners of point and shoot cameras, which
may not have all the features that will be covered
in class, are welcome to take the class, but should
probably talk with the instructor, before or at the
first class, about how they can best benefit from the

Refund Policy
Any tuition paid for enrollment for a Career
Major will be refunded in full if notice is given
prior to the scheduled beginning date of
instruction, or if a student withdraws during
the first ten days of instruction. After ten days
of instruction, no refund of tuition or fees will
be made.

Complete the enrollment application


by designated deadline.
Meet with one of MNTCs Representatives.
Answer interview questions.
Complete career interest
inventory, if needed.
Complete an academic indicator for
success (COMPASS test, ACT, or college
General Education courses GPA).

Students who reside within MNTCs district will


pay in-district tuition. All other adult students
will pay out of district tuition. There may be
additional cost for books, fees and supplies.
Tuition is due prior to the start of class. Tuition
is subject to change based on ODCTE approved

Non-attendance does not constitute


withdrawal from a program. No refund will be
made for insurance purchased in the students
name. Books, tools, and materials may be
eligible for refund if the books and supplies are
in like new condition, unopened, unmarked
and undamaged, provided the materials are
returned at the same time as the request for
withdrawal.

20-week FlexTrack classes within 2 weeks
of enrollment date/4-week FlexTrack

Other Classes-prior to second class meeting,
full refund less a $5 processing fee. After
second class meeting, no refund.
Books and supplies may not
be eligible for refund.

MNTC Online-Students are responsible for
tuition charges unless they have officially
withdrawn within 7 days of the beginning
of class. On-line withdrawals should be

responsible for tuition charges for

Course Reciprocity Agreement


MNTC will allow any student who currently
resides within a district served by an Oklahoma
Technology Center to attend our short-term,
open enrollment classes at the rates as
advertised in our course catalog. Any student
who lives within a district that is not served
by an Oklahoma Technology Center will be
charged a rate of twice the advertised price in
our course catalog.

Class cancellation or school closing shall be
reported to selected radio and television stations

Pediatric First Aid and CPR


The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is
designed to meet the regulatory requirements for
child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches
child care providers and others to respond to and
manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in
the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
The course covers the four steps of
first aid and first aid skills such as:
Finding the Problem.
Stopping Bleeding and Bandaging.
Using an Epinephrine Pen.
Child CPR AED and Infant CPR.
Optional modules in Adult CPR AED, Child Mask, Infant
Mask and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers.
