Verse 1: Should we continue to sin to increase grace!

Q. Why is Paul asking this?

A. Paul is asking this because he is referring to a scripture he had spoken of

earlier in Romans 5:20 a question of his own!

Verse 2: By no means! We died to sin how can we live in it any longer?

Q. How did we die to sin? (In-depth)

A. When Jesus died on the cross we died with him, he took on our sins and
restored the fall of Adam. We were children of Adam so we were tied to his
sin but that is what was restored!

Verse 3: We were baptized in the death of Jesus!

Note: Ties in with Verse 2 and our flesh became one!

Verse 4: We were buried with Jesus through baptism in order that we may have
new life to bring Glory to the Father God in heaven.

Q. What does this all mean and how do we apply in our lives today?

A. Paul is speaking the Holy Spirit Baptism: this is something only you can
receive by and through Christ so we may have one in same form of unity,
purification of our sins and Christ- like forgiveness.

Verse 5: If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also
be united in his resurrection.

Q. How are we able to be united in Jesus through his resurrection?

A. Paul is referring to the Glorification at the time of death! When Jesus died
and rose again he (after days of teaching) was risen above and Glorified
through his Father in Heaven! So shall we be glorified through Christ Jesus at
the time of our death!

Verse 6-7 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of
sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-because
anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Q. What is the meaning of Paul’s message here? (In-depth)

A. Paul is saying that when we died in Christ we died to the fall of sin
(Adam), we now have shed our old sinful nature and have been given a
new body, mind, soul, and spirit to be in the form of Christ. Sin holds no
permanent place over us, we hold the Authority over sin through Christ!
Verse 8 Now if we died with Christ, we also believe that we live with him!

Q. What is the underlying meaning of this scripture?

A. 1. We are now one with Christ…………………..2. Since we are one with him
we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms therefore having a direct
connection with him!

Verse 9 For we know since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again,
death no longer has mastery over him!

Q. Did death ever have mastery over him?

A. No! He raised the dead, he created the living and he holds the keys of
death, the keys of sin and keys to all.

Verse 10 -11 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives he
lives to God! In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin and but alive to God in
Christ Jesus!

Q. How does Christ Jesus live a life to God? How do we live a life to Jesus?

A. Christ Jesus is the son of God, the law of the Holy Spirit and was
accountable for his actions to the Father God in heaven while on earth, as are
we accountable for our actions to Christ Jesus. We may have died with Christ
but we are not glorified yet, so in whatever we do, that is not of Christ we are
accountable for and this was the reason Jesus had to die so that we have that
direct connection to him to restore our actions of sin! Now Christ Jesus has
been glorified and seated to the right of God in constant intercession and
intervention for us his children! Living the life to God!

Verse 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey it evil
desires.

Q. Why and how is Paul warning us to not sin!

A. Why? So that we do not give a foothold to the Satan who is here to seek,
kill and destroy anything that is of Christ. Footholds can become strongholds
so we are warned not to sin. How? Paul is telling us that our mortal body that
is of flesh can be weak and quick to give in to something we know we should
not.

Q. So how do we restore ourselves when we have given in to sin?

A. Repent and move on to; do not hold on to the guilt because that in it-self
can be a foothold!

Verse 13-14 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of
wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought
from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of
righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but
under grace.

Note: I have no questions for these verses because it is so self explanatory!

However, God is putting this on my heart to share with you! In all things said or
done and if we are the instruments to Gods band than are we not to share the
revelations that he shares with us, the blessings he gives to us to give to all, the
mercy he extends to us to extend to all, the forgiveness he so quickly gives when
we ask for it to quickly forgive others and most of all the Love he fills our lives with
to fill love upon and to others whether they are friends or foes! We are under grace
and the law works through us.
