Dear Mrs. Fictitious Employer,
It is with great excitement that I present my resume to you for the Nursing Residency Program as a
Registered Nurse at XYZ Hospital. I will graduate from the University of South Florida College of
Nursing with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in August of 2014.
In my clinical experience, I have been able to work in a wide variety of settings such as Medical Surgical,
Intensive Care, Emergency Care, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Community, and Psychiatric units. Working in
such an array of places allowed me to learn as much as possible and develop strong critical thinking skills
for the challenging career that nursing is. For my final nursing preceptorship, I chose to focus on
oncology nursing and spent my time on Sarasota Memorial Hospitals oncology and overflow unit to
better help me understand the different types of cancer patients and to absorb knowledge on oncology
nursing.
Some of my recent accomplishments include:
Doing a quality indicator project on catheter-associated urinary tract infections to help improve
the workplace, and an evidence based practice project on central line associated blood stream
infections.
Working at Moffitt Cancer Center as an oncology technician and floating throughout the hospital
to learn as much as I can about cancer patients.
Graduating in August 2014 with honors from the University of South Florida College of Nursing
and becoming a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
My experience in oncology nursing, leadership skills, and educational excellence with my ability to adapt
quickly to new areas and think critically but quickly in situations allows me to work well under pressure.
These are assets that I consider important to work at on a team such as the great team of professionals that
