What is HRM?
HRM is the phenomenon of late 19th century, when, with the growth of
industrialization in the West, the role of HR manager started to emerge.
However, it gained importance in 1950’s, when Japanese used it as a
strategic resource. That led to the coining of the term HRM and the
realization among the managements that an organized and militant labour
force was an essential requirement for efficiency and that a “Human
approach” towards employees paid greater dividends both at the
organizational and national level.

Afterwards, HRM progressed to the centre stage of the organization. Today,

therefore in truly world class corporations the HRM function has assumed a
greater significance and plays a comprehensive role in organizational
management.

HRM is quite an omen defined as productivity through people. It is

considered a scientific process of continuously enabling the employees of an
organization both in their individual capacities and as members of groups,
both as managers or other ranks, to improve their competence and capability
to perform their present as well as future expected roles so that the roles of
the organization are achieved more fully and at the same time the needs of
the employees are also met to an adequate extent. It is seen as getting the
employees in the organization to add value to the organizational processes
and to contribute to the organizational development.

The basic philosophy behind this type of management is that as the products,
equipments and stores need physical inventory, human resource, the most
important asset of organization, needs inventory too. As a Chinese proverb
suggests that “if you wish to grow something for a season grow mangoes. If
you wish to grow something for a year grows rice. But, if you wish to grow
something for a life time grow man power.”

A firm therefore focuses on the maximum utilization of human resources in

an organization to get the maximum out put.

As there are seven function of human resource management,

Listed:

1. Recruitment
2. Selection
3. Orientation
4. Training and Development
5. Performance Appraisal
6. Salaries and Compensations
7. Rewards Awards and Punishment

About Organization:
In this organization all the seven functions are being followed very nicely
But they do more favor with there workers instead of employers.
My sister has done the job in this company and now my cousin is
working these days. I visit the organization all the things are well
organized and every person is co-operated.

Well we discuss the selection criteria of this company. They don’t place
the ads usually when they have an opportunity so they just get people in
an organization by telling the workers and employees. So the discussion
about it is;
Report about Selection
criteria in Pharmaceutical
I will tell by steps:

The first one is of getting and looking over the jobs they first decide that
which type of employee or worker is suitable for this job. By meeting, (if
the post is of an employee or big) they discuss how to select, what are the
questions which they have to ask.
When they have discussed all these things they place add, after having
CV’s they select most suitable CV’s or short list the list.
After it they call the candidates or post them a letter. Usually the three or
two person take the interview, one person also take interview but in rear
cases.
They ask mix question in interview which I will later describe in an
example.

When my sister go for the job she was selected as that she first drop her
CV in the company after that she has a call from company. She goes to
the company for the post of an employee. She goes into the room the first
questions were:
Describe something about you,
Why you come here?
Who told you about this organization? What you think is it organization
or company?
How you control your work?
If you have a lot of pressure then what is your first step to minimize that
load?
Ok now tell me the basic purpose of this organization?
What u knows about your field?
Tell the definition of medicine?

So these are the question which were asked in the interview as you see
that first the question are of low types after that they came to the field
they first make the candidate warm up then start doing questions.
From my cousin the questions which are asked are of different types.
Such that first they ask
Describe yourself?
Then why are you coming here?
(Just odd question)
Why you choose this field?
My cousin goes there as a worker of making title of medicine
Then they asked:
If u have three balls and I want two balls of hundred rupees and one of 0
then will you give me or not?
If one o is go from eight what you get?

So as you se there criteria of doing Questions are not such planned they
are instructed to make the candidate cool or comfort first and ask some
quiet easy questions after they ask about the field in between they ask
some logical question by this they get each and every thing about the
candidate.

Then they simply say the candidate that he will be called. After they do
some meetings to see who is who and what is what?
By this they do the selection.

In the end they call the final selector and send him a letter plus call him.
They store the CV’s of remaining candidates for further selection.

Hence these steps and criteria is applied in Spencer Pharmaceutical

Company.
