EDUCATION

Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY

Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering Dec 2009
Thesis: Fibrinogen adsorption on Ti-6Al-4V Studied with AFM GPA: 3.90

University of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering June 2007
Ranked 1st at the University Examination

PROJECTS

Interaction of Protein Fibrinogen (Fb) with Surfaces of Biomedical Alloys Jan ’08-Present
Studying interaction of Fb with titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V, used in medical device applications. Trying to
understand & model the kinetics of Fb adsorption and conformation of Fb on the surface of Ti-6Al-4V
using Atomic Force Microscopy.

Kidney Tissue Engineering Spring

‘08
Research based study on finding the progress in the field of kidney tissue engineering.

Enhanced imaging of cardiac fibre orientation Spring

‘08
Project on optical clearing of cardiac tissue was completed with an aim of finding the most optimal
solution that optically clears the heart tissue for enhanced imaging of cardiac fibre structure using
Confocal Microscopy.

High Frequency X-Ray Simulator Dec ’06-May ‘07

Designed and implemented a High Frequency X-Ray circuit simulator which helped us understand the
basic concepts and design steps involved in developing high frequency invertors used in modern X-Ray
Generators.

Six Sigma Project Fall ‘09

Working as a Team Leader on improving the flow of surgical instruments through the Sterile Process
Department at a hospital in Syracuse, NY. Applied Six Sigma Strategies through each of the DMAIC
phases to find out the root cause of the problem leading to delays in instrument processing.

Boston’s Big Dig Spring

‘09
Analyzed Boston’s Big Dig project which ran into cost and time overrun problems. Analyzed the nature
of the problems and came up with possible recovery measures that could be taken to avoid similar
mistakes in the future.

EXPERIENCE

Syracuse University Syracuse, NY

Graduate Teaching Assistant Jan ’09-Dec
‘09
Displayed teaching abilities
Assisted students solve their doubts & improve understanding of key concepts in:
• Advanced Biomechanics
• Engineering Analysis of living systems-II
• Introduction to Engineering and Computer Science
• Experimental methods in Biomedical & Chemical Engineering

Meditronic Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, India

Undergraduate Internship Jul ‘06-Dec
‘06
Worked as a trainee in the Production & Manufacturing Department
Role was to study, assemble, calibrate, test & verify x-ray generators
Gained hands on experience; improved my debugging & problem solving skills
