AXWELL COATINGS & COVERINGS LTD is a UK company, headquartered in London,
whose shareholders are in the sector since 1942 - the 3rd generation - with the crea-
tion in Portugal of Fabrica de Tintas de Sacavm SARL, by Antnio Botelho de Moraes
Sarmento, who later, as a result of the association with their friends Danes Sigurd
Dyrup, Axel Monberg and Ejnar Thorsen (founding shareholders of Dyrup in Copenha-
gen) for the construction of the Ponte de Vila Franca in 1947, giving rise to Dyrup Por-
tugal. In the years 80, with the sale of the family shareholding position, the business
was adjust in a different optic, by AXWELL COATINGS
AXWELL COATINGS has an international presence, and high experience in the develop-
ment and promotion of paints, varnishes, and coatings.
AXWELL COATINGS uses high-tech, high flexibility and creativity thus a best value

and paints for high-decoration, putting special focus and priority to "niche markets".
AXWELL COATINGS, has diversified in recent years the marketing of their products in

The Department of Research & Development (D&R) of AXWELL COATINGS uses the lat-
est technology to ensure that their products meet the expectations and needs of its
customers.
This Department supports all markets where the company is present, thus creating
synergies and economies of scale. The new products and services, as well as profes-
sional internships are developed under a partnership established with the Instituto Su-
perior Tcnico (IST) of the University of Lisbon, the most prestigious school of engi-
neering in Portugal
AXWELL COATINGS is able to develop products with specific characteristics for various
sectors, namely:
Nanotechnology (e.g. corrosion)
Teflon coatings
Coatings with high UV resistance (Thermo-chromatic pigments)
