COPY CAT (voice)
As a class go through some of the sounds you are able to make
with your voice. (have students then make the sounds for the
pictures shown, have students make sounds from the alphabet,
have students speak words they may know from another
language.)
Students sit in a circle. Go around the circle and students are to
make different sounds using their voice. Other students echo
sound.
Go around again and this time students have to add to the
sounds made by previous students.


YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE
Show students the different actions they are going to learn. Go
through the words in the song. Practice song as a class.
Play CD and sing the song to the different tempos. Ask student to
reflect on what was different and if it was harder or easier as the
music was faster.
Play again.



MOVING TO SOUNDS
Discuss as a group things that move fast and things that move
slow.
Introduce students to an instrument. Play it fast and then slow
and moderate. Have students practice movements to the
different tempos.
Have students move around according to the tempo played on
the instrument.

10 LITTLE BUTTERFLIES
Explain to students that not everyone can hear sounds so they
use hand signals to communicate. We are going to learn a song
with uses these hand signals called Ten Little Butterflies
Hand out song sheets and read through with the class. Explain
the different hand signals.
Allow time for students to learn movements in pairs.
Play music, going from slow to fast.
Line students up facing each other and perform song with
actions.
