Summer Sermon Series
Join the Grace UMC family in worship this summer as we share in a sermon
series entitled, Summer of Stories. Going through August 3
rd
, each week we
will have opportunity to hear from a Grace member as they share their faith
in offering ways that God has blessed their lives. This is a special time in the
life of the church, and all are encouraged to make worship a priority as we
celebrate the God-stories in each of us!
Casual Summer Worship
We encourage members to come as you are for worship during June and
July! During these months our pastors and choir will not be in robes, and all
are invited to be casually dressed.
Collection Counting Training Today
Calling all counters! For all those who are currently part of the collection
Counting Team and anyone interested in becoming part of this important
team, its time for our annual training session. Training will be held this
evening at 5:00 in Fellowship Hall #1. Contact Denise Pelham at (256) 468-

Newsletter Deadline Tomorrow
Articles for the July 2014 issue of our Glimpses of Grace newsletter are due
by the end of the day tomorrow, June 16

. Please consider all upcoming
events and meetings taking place in your ministry area, and submit articles
in order that we may help you promote these events.
Baby Shower Next Sunday
The Young Adult Sunday School class invites all women at Grace to a baby
shower for Katie Rigoni on Sunday, June 22

, at 2:00 pm at Staci Hicks'
home (119 Pine Knoll Lane, Harvest, 35749). Katie is registered at Target
and Babies R Us.
Disc Golf Association
The next Disc Golf outing will be on Sunday, June 29
th
. We will eat at
Subway (2880 Jordan Lane NW) and play disc golf at Mastin Lake Park. All
are welcome to join us for lunch after the service, or just join us at the course
at 1:00 pm. Contact Pastor Todd or John Lawson for more information.
Serving Communion in Worship
Would you like to assist in serving communion during monthly communion
services and at other special services? You can sign up now on the bulletin
board across from the kitchen. Dates are available for all of 2014.
Please Claim Your Dishes & Personal Items
Remember to check the kitchen and the Lost & Found closet for dishes and
other items you may have left behind at the church over the past several
months. On Thursday, June 26

, all unclaimed items will be placed in the
youth Rummage Sale/Stuff Auction. Dont find yourself in the position of
having to purchase/bid on items you already own in order to get them back!
New Banners for Hallway and Sanctuary
We are currently raising funds which will enable us to purchase new banners
to decorate the Sanctuary and hallways of the church. If you would like to
be a part, please place a check into the offering plate made out to the church
with Banner Fund noted in the memo line. Thank you!

Bricks4kidz is coming to Grace!
Join us for a fun time of Bible story and Legos! Bring your friends and
enjoy this fun time of interactive learning. This exciting event is Wednesday,
June 25

, at 10:00 am. The cost is $3.00/child, with maximum of $9.00/
family. This activity is best suited for ages 4 and up. There will be childcare

Wild & Crazy Kids Is Underway!
Each Wednesday night in June at 6:00 pm we gather to play some unique
and messy games. Bring clothes you dont mind getting wet or dirty. Each
night will last about an hour. This is a great time for fun and fellowship for
our youth during the summer. All are welcome!
New Series in Both Sunday School and MYF
We are beginning a new Sunday School series entitled, Keep Calm and
Carry On which deals with stress and worry. Sunday School is at
10:05 am.
Our new MYF lesson is Shocking and Scandalous Bible Stories. MYF
begins at 6:30 pm.

Health Kits Needed
The UMCOR Warehouse in Decatur has a shortage of health kits and is
asking churches for donations in response to the recent storms.
Instructions for assembling these needed health kits can be found online at
www.umdisasterwarehouse.com/umcor-kits/74-health kit Please return
all completed kits to the collection bucket at the front entrance of the
church.
HAP (Huntsville Assistance Program) Food Pantry Donations
During the month of June Grace UMC is collecting cereal and oatmeal to
support the Huntsville Assistance Program. Please place donated food
items in the Food Pantry in Fellowship Hall Room #3.

Our Children's Ministry Team is excited to announce that Vacation
Bible School will be July 13

Our Workshop of Wonders VBS will be a fun time for all!! We'll have
music, crafts, games, and other exciting activities. You may register

Alzheimers Association: Ministry Leadership Lunch and Learn

Workshop topics include: The basics of Alzheimers and Dementia,
Behaviors, Carling for the Caregiver, & Respite
