E-1 ^?^God has given you, so together we can serve
the Lord Jesus. See, justÔh, Im so happy today. On the
private interviews, how the Lord done some great things, and
Im just so thankful about it. And now, tomorrow
night^Tomorrows Friday. I was thinking tomorrow was
Saturday. We want_dont want to forget the Business Mens
Breakfast will be held here, I believe at this school. And I
suppose, they sell tickets for them, dont they, or something?
And they, I guess, everyone understands just how you get
the_the tickets and so forth for the breakfast.
E-2 Wed be happy if you could come along and see_feel
led to come. Now, Billy always tells me, said, Theres one
thing that you do, daddy, is wear the people out. Theyre wore
out anyhow. Said, Theyve been setting there for hours. You
preach so long.
And I said, Well, son, Im going to try to make it in
Chicago meeting. I said, Im going to set my watch at every
twenty minutes, and then when it alarms, Im going to quit
right then, and call the prayer line.
He said, You might as well not set it, because it aint
going^
You know it went off two or three times, and just alarmed
itself down, I never did know. Im making so much noise up
here, why, I_I didnt even hear it when it went off, and so I
just have to justÎ hope I dont bore you, you know. I
dont_I dont come here for that. I_I come, and I love Him so
much, and know that we so much that ought to be done, right
at this time, and I just try to push too much of it in one night.
You see? And not knowing just what time were going to be
called awayÂnd then I think, well, I dont know what time
Im going to be called away. And none of us know that. And so
we just might as well do what we can, while we can do it.
Thats right.
E-3 I heard my motherÎ never was at a dance in my life.
But I heard only a_a holy dance one time in church. I never
forget that. When we was still a Baptist church, I would
always criticize, kinda, in my heart. I wouldnt say it out loud,
because I_Id be afraid to do that. Anything that God

doesÎ always kinda thought it was kinda strange to see,
when I seen, first got acquainted with the Pentecostal people,
see them dance, you know, dance around.
I thought, Now, you know, that aint in the Bible.
What_what are they dancing about? And then one night I
was teaching from a chart on Daniel and Revelations. It was
New Years night. I was going to teach on the chart until
midnight. It wasnt a chart, like a blackboard, I was teaching.
And there was some Pentecostal people had come from
Louisville. They had a_oh, some sisters. A sister pastored a
church over there and she had a^They had washboards, and
thimbles, and_and all kinds of little things to make rackets
with, and_and they all got harmonizing some way. I dont
know what it was, and theyÂnd she started playing the
piano, and all these girls up there got to hitting with these
thimbles on washboards and things. And_and they_they got
they was playing that song, Theres going to be a meeting in
the air, in the sweet by and by, or some^
Well, that little girl that was playing, little lady pastor, she
just turned white, oh, just like a chalk. And she just begin to
playing it in such way, I dont, I never seen anything play like
it in my life. And I thought, Now, whats that?
And then, one on the washboard, she got to doing the same
thing. Then here, two or three got up. And a little blond head
got to dancing right in the floor. I thought, Oh, my.
Right up and down the floor as hard as she could go, just a
dancing away, like that, little old girl, about sixteen, eighteen
years old. I was just a young fellow myself. And I^Now,
isnt that something? Right here in my church. How Ill ever
live that down? See? And watching her like that, and I
thought, What do they do that for? Why do they have to do
that? Why couldnt they just played their music and went on
and let it alone like that? I thought, Well, thats terrible.
E-4 I got to thinking, Now, in the Bible is there such a
thing as dancing? And I remembered that David danced
around the ark, when he saw the ark coming. See? He danced
before the Lord. And the Lord said, Hes a man after my own
heart.
I thought, Well, now, thats^He^What did he dance
for? Well, they had a victory.

And Miriam when they crossed over the Red Sea, Moses
sang in the Spirit, and Miriam took a tambourine and begin to
beat it, and they went down along the bank, all the daughters
of Israel, dancing in the Spirit. See? And I seen that dancing
was when they had victory.
I thought_got to thinking, Well, maybe, I havent got
victory enough. See? I got thinking about it. And you know,
after while I got to patting my foot, and before I knowed it I
was out there dancing with that girl, out there in that aisle.
E-5 Oh, I was marked then. I_I could just see the
expression on those peoples face yet, seeing their pastor on
the floor with this_that little girl dancing around. Here I was
right out there too. I never was on a dance floor in my life.
And the^But Id have to take it back and say, It was on
that one. But that was a church floor. So when we^
You know, all the devils got, he_he_he copied it after
some real thing that Gods got. Thats right. Its just exactly.
The devil cannot create. Hes just a perverter of whats been
created. You see? So he cannot create; hes not a creator; hes a
perverter.
What is_what is unrighteousness? Is righteousness
perverted. See? Its legal for a man to take a wife, and be a_a
husband to her, and family relationship. But the same woman,
another woman on the same act, it condemn him and send his
soul away. See? Its wrong. What is it? Righteousness
perverted. See? And its a^The truth is always right.
What is a lie? Is the truth perverted (See?) makes a lie. So
thats the way all sin is, is righteousness perverted.
E-6 So when I used^Hear my mother say, she used to go
to dances to the old, her and daddy on them kind of^See,
them, they had the old fiddler come stand on the corner and
play the fiddle and them Kentucky people, and pop, he didnt
have any money, you know, youre supposed to have a little
money to jingle in your pockets, and I see him go out to the
keg get some nails, put them in his pocket, you know, and
dance around, he and mama. And theyd win prizes. I can see
her pull her skirt out like this, you know, and that jig dance,
you know, right around, around one another like that. And Id
see pop. I thought, Thats_thats bad pop; them nails, thats
not money. You see? I knowed he didnt have any money; he
had some nails in his pocket, jingling up and down like that.

See? And theyd do that plumb on till around daylight. And
some of the people leave home, theÔh, the_old Kentucky
people would come over, and theyd have the dances from one
house to the other. And then, theyd go home of a morning,
packing their shoes in their hands, cause their feet was so sore
from dancing.
Well, if you can do that for the devil, then why not stay,
and lets preach all night, and just praise God, and_and get in
the Spirit, and see, sure. If that_if thats for eternal
separation, what about Eternal Life? Lets^We can
appreciate this as much, more than we should that, of course.
But Satan would wear us out on this, right quick, or tell us,
We was too tired. But I tell you, youd have an awful time
with me, get me wore out on it.
E-7 I remember when I was healed of stomach trouble. He,
Satan said, Well, you better not eat. Said, Because the
doctor said, If you eat, youd die. You have an ulcered
stomach, and said, it was just one big bloody ulcer.
But the Lord said, He healed me. So I had to take
somebodys word, so I_I took Gods Word.
And so, oh, it like to burnt me up. I was just^Hot water
running out of my mouth, and so, two or three days, I was
going around holding my stomach like this. Said, How are
you feeling, Mr. Branham?
I said, Oh, I feel fine, tamping away like that.
Someone said, You lied.
I did not, I was making a confession. Confess means say
the same thing. By His stripes, I was healed. So thats^That
does it. See? I was making confession.
And so, Satan said to me, said, Youre bringing
reproach.
E-8 I said, Now, looky here, old fellow. If_if you enjoy
hearing me testify, you stick around. But if you dont, you
might as well get away, cause I_Im going to testify anyhow.
So thats it. You just got to let him know what side youre
standing on, and then make your stand, and then stand. And
thats just the way we got to do always, is get where we know
that were right, and then got faith in that. You cant have
faith unless youre right. Dont you try to do that to bluff him
now. He wont take your bluff. See? Dont bluff him. But when
ONLY BELIEVE 5
you really believe it, youre not bluffing then. Something has
already witnessed to you, and then you_then youre right.
I dont care, you might not, no one never lay hands on you.
You might not never hear anything; but just as long as
something has confirmed it in your heart that its Word and
Gods will for you, thats alls necessary. And many times,
these gifts and things, they just encourage.
E-9 Im watching a Baptist preacher setting here in front of
me tonight. If Im not mistaken, is this Mr. Daulton, setting
here from Somerset, Kentucky? I thought it was. I remember
Brother Ed Daulton. Oh, my. A Baptist rightÂnd he come
up, and^But he believed, and come up to the church, and
received the Holy Ghost, and went back down. And course,
all of his neighborhood let him down, as usual. And so, then
when the Holy Spirit had commented on the_what were
looking for to happen at any time now, another gift thats
going to be added to the churchÂnd its a marvelous thing.
And weve probably youve read the articles in our
religious papers about it, about the squirrels, and so forth.
And Brother Daulton had two children. Well, I think, how
many? About eight children, I think it^? Nine children, nine
children, and teen-agers, and you know how they are,
kindaÂnd a poor father and mother, how they prayed so
hard, that God save their children^
E-10 One day at the tabernacle, he had seen the Holy
Spirit speak to a woman and tell her, Just ask what you will,
right now. And God told me to give you.
Said, What must I ask?
I said, Well, you got a crippled sister setting here, thats
been crippled from birth. And theres a man setting here,
tonight, Banks Wood, whos setting right with me, the
womans name is Mrs. Wright. And I said, You got an aged
father and mother; youre living on less than two hundred
dollars a year on that little poor farm, over there, a widow
woman. I said, Theres many things you could ask for, Sister
Hattie, but I said, the very God that told me about those
squirrels when I spoke, those squirrels were standing right
there. And did that seven straight times, standing right there,
where you look and see it, when it was just impossible for one
to be setting on the wall there, just a confirming something.

And I said, He tells me to have you to ask what you will.
He said, Youd ask it, for me to say it.
She said, Well, what should I say?
I said, Ask for whatever you will; it will be given right
here. If it isnt, then I_Ive told something wrong.
And she said, Well, said, I dont know what to ask,
Brother Branham. She said^She had two teen-age boys.
And talk about renegades, they were, and so, just giving her
heartaches all the time, poor little widowed mother. And so,
her husband, I married she to her husband. And they
were^Her husband had gotten killed on a tractor. And those
boys had just gone wild. And she said, Well, the salvation of
my two boys.
I said, I give you those two boys in the Name of Jesus
Christ. And both of them fell across her lap, come to Christ.
Now, Brother Banks Woods is somewhere setting here in
this building, tonight, that was present to see that happen.
Both them boys are fine. They taken feet-washing all the time,
communion at church, and when were taking feet-washing,
the one thats washing the feet, we lay our hands over on them
and pray. That little fellow the other night, about fourteen
years old, our pastor, Brother Neville, he had his hands on
him, praying for him. The cutest little thing^
E-11 So Brother Ed Daulton seen that happen; he
was praying for his children. Got outside, and he turned back
around, and the Holy Spirit said, Speak for Eds children.
And I said, Brother Daulton, the Holy Spirit tells me by
that same gift that were looking to be perfectly manifested
soon, I give you your children in the Name of Jesus Christ.
And when he got home there, his daughter and son, already
give their hearts to Christ. (Just a few miles down in the
country from me.) And I think every one of your children is
saved and filled with the Holy Spirit and^?Îs that right,
Brother Daulton? Is there any of them with you? One
daughter. Was that the one was saved right away then? The
oldest daughter was saved the next morning. And every one of
his children is now saved. How the Holy Spirit^When God
says anything, He keeps His Word. See?
E-12 Now, how could I have saved those children?
See? It_it isnt. If its not your own words, if it isnt you own
thinking, then its_its ever whats inspiring you. And if its
ONLY BELIEVE 7
God, then its Gods Word. See? So thats the way on_on the
meetings here at night when you see those things happening,
thats not me. I couldnt do that. Its_its God doing that. And
if youll just believe it, then thats all you have to do, is
just_just believe it.
Now, well, its almost time to call the prayer line, Billy. I
just take up so much time. But you know, I want to_I want to
make an appointment with all the people around Chicago
here.
And this, this brother that sings here at night, Brother
Melvin, how I love to hear that boy sing. I_I want to hear him
sing, Remember Me, one of these nights before I leave. And
then theres a colored sister that sings at the Christian
Business Men. Oh, my. You_you should hear her sing, Ship
Ahoy.
And I told my wife; shes setting back there tonight; I told
her, I hope she gets to hear that lady sing, Ship Ahoy, and
Brother Melvin sing, Remember Me when tears are falling
down. Oh, my. I sure hope we get these.
And theres a little brother over there at that meeting the
other morning, hes setting back here somewhere. I shook
his^Here he is, he and his wife. My, talk about singing. And
when you get over in glory, and I_I wishÎ always wanted
to sing. Id rather sing than preach any time. So I_I love
singing so well. So I always said, All the great singers of
earth will be gathered over there singing the stories, how they
overcome, over on a great big hillside in glory. Just across the
River of Life, over on the other side, I want to set and listen at
them. So I want to invite all you Chicago people to meet me
over there now, and_and well set down and listen at them
sing, so we wont have any^Have to hurry, and see if the
childrens going to get hurt, or anything. Theyll be there with
us, and therell be nothing to hurt or destroy. And well have
plenty of time then. And well just talk a long time, just have
plenty of time to talk.
E-13 Now, Ive got several Scriptures that I want to
refer to. I got some wrote out here and some pages here. And I
want to start tonight and read first a Scripture found in Saint
Luke 8:50 for a_a text. And my subject tonight is the theme
song they sang just before I come in: Only Believe. And
Saint Luke 8th chapter and the 50th verse.

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying,
Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Let us bow our heads just a moment for prayer. Gracious
God, Who brought again the Lord Jesus, Thy Son from the
dead, and has presented Him to us after two thousand years.
We see Him day after day, and night after night in the
invisible Body of His working in the visible Body of His
church, bringing to pass His Words. And as we was speaking
the other night, Youre right on schedule. Everythings
hitting just right. Gods great time clock is ticking just to the
moment. And then tonight when we see that that last midnight
stroke is fixing to strike, oh, great, Jehovah, God, be merciful
to us.
E-14 And as I think tonight, here before me, holding
the purchase of Your Blood, their attention for the next thirty
or forty minutes, what must I say, O God? These few words
thats been prepared would be insufficient, Lord, without
Your anointing. So I pray that Youll anoint the Words tonight
of this text. And may they find their resting place. And
provide for us just what we have need of to be prepared for
that hour when Jesus does come.
Because God, notice with my eyes open a few moments
ago, laying here before me is that book of the Christian
Business Men, where our precious Brother Tommy Nichols
translated from that tape that vision, or whatever it was,
Lord, You let me see across the curtain there. And O God, I
said, If I could only go back for aÎ_Id persuade; Id beg
people. Oh, they mustnt miss that, Lord. Theres people here
thats divided their living with me, for me and my children,
and between them and their children. I pray, God, that some
how another, something might be said tonight, thatll_that we
might have Christ divided among us tonight. That He might be
the Saviour of every one of us, and the Healer of every one of
us, and our coming King. And that hope, leave it here in our
hearts. May we live eternally with Him, over in that land
where theres no sickness.
I can think of them women, how they were once
recognizing. Heres old women, ninety years old, and there
they was, beautiful and young. And those gray-headed men
here on earth, there they was, young and in their youth for
eternity. God, we couldnt afford to miss that. Grant, Lord,
tonight, that each and every person will take new hold
ONLY BELIEVE 9
tonight. Bless the saints and heal the sick, for we commit
ourselves with this text, in the Name of Jesus Christ for Thy
glory. Amen.
E-15 Jesus had just been turned down from a great
revival. He was always about the Fathers business. I_I like
that. We^Me, myself, I have so much time that I_I think I_I
foolishly use. And all of us feel that way. And we get so wound
up till weve got to go somewhere and unwind.
But we have found Jesus always about the Fathers
business. I love that. And thats the way we should be. We
should never be idle in our time. What time we have, we must
spend it for, and_and conserve the time, redeem it, because it
is precious. Every time we get a chance to put in a plug for
Jesus, do it. Every time we get to put in a plug for God, do it.
Do something for the church and for embetterment of people.
Many people, thats how we come to know these things is by
what somebodys told us.
E-16 And Jesus had left Galilee, over in the land
that He came from, and crossed over the sea, feeling led, no
doubt, to go over to Gadara for revival. No doubt, but what
the Father had led Him over across the sea to Gadara. And we
all know the story that there was only one person saved; that
was a maniac, in Gadara. And he was out into the fields and
the cemetery. He had went wild. And they put chains on him,
and the demon power could break the chains, and_andÎve
often thought, going around insane institutions, and watch a
person whos been possessed with those evil powers, how
strong they are. They take a policemen sometime to beat them
down.
Remember down in Florida, one night a_a man that
wouldnt have weighed over a hundred and twenty pound,
whipped five policemen just as easy as youd whip your child.
And_and then when that evil spirit went off of him, why,
there was nothing hardly. He was just as meek as he could be.
But it was a evil spirit.
And I thought, If a man possessed with an evil spirit
could break chains, what could he do if he was completely
surrendered to God, with the power of God possessing him
like that? He could straighten every crippled leg, and do
great things, if he could just be so anointed with Gods power,
as the devil could completely get a hold of him.

E-17 Did you notice, that devil was so completely a
hold of that man, until he_he even confessed Jesus: said, We
know who You are, the holy One of God. Why cometh to
torment us before our time come? See? He was so completely
surrendered to the devil until the devil could use his tongue.
And you know, I like that. I hope this dont hurt nobodys
feelings, but we can get so completely surrendered to God till
He can use our tongue too to_to speak in other languages, and
to preach the Gospel, to sing the Gospel, to speak visions that
were looking at, and the mysteries of God, if we just
completely surrender to the power of God. Thats all. And if
the devil can get a man under His control, and do that, what
can God_God do with one, get one under His control? See? So
this maniac^
And you notice, when Jesus was crossing the sea, the devil
knowed that He was on the road to a great, win a great victory
for God. And he tried to drowned Him that night, caused a
storm to come up and^But Jesus knowed that God had sent
Him, because He did only what God led Him to do.
E-18 Wouldnt that be nice if we had a testimony
like that, brethren? I do only that which pleases God.
Wouldnt that be wonderful? Like Enoch walked with God
five hundred years and had a testimony that, He pleased
God. He didnt have to die, just went up.
So then, a little afternoon stroll, he just started walking
out, and just thought, Well, Ive been on earth long enough,
Ill just walk on up. And just started, by faith, he thought,
Well, I been here long enough, so Im kind of tired of being
around here. I think Ill just stroll on up, till I hit the milky
white way and just walk on up and knock on the door. So
thats what he did. See? By faith he did it. The Bible said so.
See? He just got tired staying here. He said, Well, Im just
going to walk up home, God. just went on up through the air
walking. He did that by faith. The Bible said he did.
And so, oh, I_I^When I feel death come knocking
around my door, I_I want to have that kind of faith, dont
you? Just say, Well, so long old world. Im going to walk
away from you now. And just start walking on. Just walk
right on up, and pass the moon and stars and strike the milky
white way, and go on into the spheres and spheres, and out of
the spheres, just go on into Glory. Thats right.

E-19 And then, we find out that the devil cant
destroy Gods servant as long as hes in the will of God. So
He^We see Him rise up that night, and the devil all so
angry, and going to try to drown Him out there on the sea,
raised up, and He said, Why are you so fearful? Think Id be
doing anything less I was in the will of God? Why you so
scared about? See? What are you worried about anyhow? Why
are you all upset?
Thats the same thing Hed say to us tonight, brethren, I
imagine. What are you so scared about? See? Whats the
matter, are you afraid to trust Me?
He said, Peace be still. And the winds and the waves
obeyed Him, crossed over the sea. Oh, how beautiful. There He
got on the other side, and this maniac met Him, and_and
when he did, he was going to come out to tear Him to pieces.
Then the devil found out that_that was a little more than a
Man coming walking up there, with those other twelve men.
E-20 And then, when he confessed Him to be the Son
of God, and confessed that he_his future torment, Jesus said,
Hold your peace, but come out of him. And He delivered
that man of those legions of devils. And those devils went over
and they gotÎf theyre not embodied, theyre_theyre seem
to be helpless. So they went over and got in a bunch of hogs
and went down, two thousand hogs, and drown in the sea.
And you know what? Jesus come over to hold a revival, but
when those people realized it was going to cost them two
thousand hogs, they didnt want the revival. So if its going to
cost them anything, they dont want nothing to do with it. So
that_thats about the way it is today, you know. If its going
to cost you a few hours sleep or_or something another, the
people dont want to do nothing with it, you know.
And so they said, Well, they_theyÎnstead of having
the revival, they come out, the people of the city, and said,
Leave our country. We never^We dont want You over
here. Just get on out. We^
E-21 And you know, and Jesus looked around to the
man was in his right mind, and had clothes onÎf^You
know, I always thought there, I_I better not start on that.
If_if you see, that man, he started putting on clothes when he
met Jesus. And how is it, we claim we know Him, and taking
them off all the time? So theresÂnd thats a^

They say, Were crazy for preaching such things as that.
But I dont know. The man that had_was naked was the one
was crazy, according to the Bible. So and when he found
Jesus, went putting his clothes back on again. So_so we find
out that^
E-22 Ive often wondered, when I get up to heaven, I
want to find that man. And I_I want to go over. Jesus
wouldnt let him follow Him. He said, You go on back and
show the people there whats happened to you. And I just
wonder what_what weight his testimony had on hog raising
in that country after that. I_I just wonder what his testimony
had, what weight it had over there.
But they didnt want Him. So Ill say one thing. If you
dont want Him, He wont bore you with Himself. No, no. He
wont push Hisself on you. He never did. He knocks. Youre on
the inside. Youre the one opens the door. But He will knock.
He will give you the opportunity.
E-23 So then, oh, they said, We dont want You. I
dont care how many You can deliver, and how, what, who
sent You over here. If God sent You over here, what about it,
we just dont want any of that kind of stuff going over here,
around, our^You get our people all confused. So You just
get back where You belong.
He said, All right. Right on back He went and got in the
boat.
It must have been along about ten oclock in the morning.
Our little brother Jairus, he was a_he was a believer. He_he
actually was a believer, but he was kind of a secret believer.
And you now, we got a whole lot of those out here in these
Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian churches. They really
believe this message of Pentecost. They do. But they just cant
do it on account of their church.
So Jairus said^He was a secret believer; outwardly he
had joined himself up with a bunch of unbelievers. And so,
thats the way a many a good man is tonight: joined up with
unbelievers. And the Bible said, Do not be unequally yoked
together. Dont yoke yourself up amongst unbelievers. Come
out from amongst the unbelievers, and separate yourself,
saith God, and I will receive you. Touch not their unclean
thing. And Ill be God to you, and youll be sons and daughters
unto Me.

E-24 So Jairus, though was like many of today, had
yoked hisself up in an organization, that he just simply
couldnt wiggle away from, because he had a high name.
Perhaps, lets call him, Dr. Jairus. See? He was a_had a great
name of doctor, maybe, behind it. He was a priest. And hes
a_he was a pastor of a great synagogue. But in his heart hed
followed Jesus of Nazareth, and hed watched those miracles.
Hed go home and study and look through the Scriptures. And
hed say, Thats just exactly^
Lets think He was standing there that day when Simon
come up. He went down to hear John preach, and he had
heard about, he heard them announce Jesus, and seen this
Light come down over Him there, and settle down upon Him.
And we seen that same Light was on Him, tell that old
fisherman, Why, your name is Simon, and youre the son of
Jonas. Maybe, you know, his father was a mightve been a
member of this mans synagogue.
He said, I know that Man didnt know him. And I went
home and searched that out in the Scripture, and I found out
that that was the sign of the Messiah. And then while I was
standing there, and I_I was standing over on the other side,
course, with the priests, and my brethren, and listening to see
what I could hear say. And the brethren, they said, What are
we going to do when we go back?
When Philip come up and had Nathanael, and
that^Jesus stood there and told Nathanael who he was, and
where he found him, and so forth like that. And we seen
Nathanael, he was maybe studying to be a preacher, and he
said, Why, Rabbi, Youre the Son of God, the King of Israel.
He said, You believe because I told you that?
E-25 And maybe, He was setting out there also to
hear the woman at the well, and_and stand at the gate that
time when blind Bartimaeus was out there crying, Jesus,
Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. He couldnt have
touched Him.
If you go toÎf you was ever at the place, they marked
where Bartimaeus was setting and where Jesus was when he
called Him, oh, my. All that mob, howling, saying, Say, they
me you raise the dead. We got a grave yard full of them up
here. Come up and raise some of them, well believe you. See?
How could He ever heard all^But his faith touched Him.

Like little Zacchaeus, that I told the Christian Business
Men, setting up in the tree like that, said, Now, Rebekah told
me that He_He knowed all things and could^God spoke
through Him and He was Messiah. So Ill pull all these limbs
around me, and_and He will never know Im setting up here.
So when Jesus stopped there under the tree, a looked up,
and said, Zacchaeus, come down. Going home with you.^
E-26 So maybe, he was there that morning to see
that. However, he believed through the Scriptures that that
was the Messiah. And, but yet he couldnt make a confession
because the_the ministerial association of Gadara had said
this: If theres anybody ever attends one of them revivals that
that prophet of Galilee over there, holds, we will
excommunicate him that hour from the church. So well, he
had_had a pastor though. And he had a big congregation, and
a nice bunch of people, and_and he knowed he loved the
Lord. But right down in his heart, he knowed there was
something else ought to be added. Oh, Zacchaeus, I hope
youre setting here tonight and dont get up and go till this is
over. See? Just set still for a minute.
And there he was, you know, out there, and believing that,
and come by the little candlelight, and study through the
night, when hed go to one of those meetings, and listen,
maybe disguised himself, and put a veil over his face, or
something, so he wouldnt be knowed as a doctor, or Dr.
Jairus, you know, or^He just wouldnt want to be known
amongst the crowd. But yet, he was setting there. And he
watched this, and he studied it; but yet, he couldnt open it,
publicly confess Him, because hed have to give up his
ministerial association and his fellowship with his brethren.
And thats the reason, all of them together run Jesus out of
Gadara, and put Him back over in His own country. In His
own country it been the same thing. And anybody joined
themselves with this so-called prophet of Galilee, why was,
had to be excommunicated.
E-27 But you know, Gods got a way of bringing that
real genuine faith out in us. God has peculiar ways of doing it.
And so, lets say, one night the little girl had come in, and she
was^He had one little daughter about twelve years old, and
he was getting aged. And that was the only child he and his
wife had.

One night she came in from skipping the rope, or
something around the parish, and she came in, she said,
Daddy, I am so sick.
So he felt her little head and he said, Yes, honey. You are
sick. So he said, Mother, Ill tell what. You put her to bed,
and well go down and get the doctor. Thats the only
sensible thing to do.
So they went and got the good doctor from the
neighborhood. And he came up and he felt her. And he said,
Yes, shes burning with fever. So he doctored her for two or
three days. And come to find out, her fever grew worse. And
oh, it got in such a place, tillÎt got so hot, that he was
getting, the doctor got worried about it. So he tried all the
herbs and all the remedies that he knowed to try to help this
little girl. But he_he couldnt do no good with it. He just
couldnt break the fever.
E-28 So then one morning about nine oclock, why,
he had come to visit the little girl after he had been up almost
all night. And all the loving people of the church was gathered
in there, and all the associate pastors, and some of the visiting
clergymen, and the district presbyter, and all of them was
setting close, you know, to_to offer prayers and so forth for
the child.
And so, the doctor come into the room, and he examined
the little girl, taken her pulse. And oh, the fever was raging.
The little thing was beyond, out of her head now. So he knew
that the end was close.
He hated to tell the pastor, perhaps, went to his own
church. So he called him out to one side and said, Now,
Jairus, I want to tell you out here, so sister wont hear it. That
baby is dying, your only little girl.
Oh, doctor, surely theres something else you can do.
No, Jairus, if_if you want to call in another doctor and
consult the case, why, thats all right. But as far as my medical
understanding, deaths on the child right now, because shes
laying at the point of death. And she probably wont last over
another hour or two. The good doctor was telling all that he
knowed to be the truth.
And said, Doctor, would you advise me to get some other
doctor?

Said, Youre welcome.
But he said, I dont know no other doctor. We know there
was a doctor over across the_there, called Luke, Dr. Luke.
But you know, he_he was converted.
Oh, dont you^Lukes went off on the wrong end. See?
Hes following that Galilean prophet, dont^
Oh, that brings it back to his mind. Yes, doctor. Well,
thank you. What do I owe you, doctor?
Oh, well, I^Thats all right. You dont have me
nothing. He was a fine man. See? You go ahead, preacher, I
know you dont make much money, so just let it go.
Well, thank you very kindly.
E-29 Now, whats he going to do? He walks back
from the gate and said, Now, Ill go in the house there, in the
parish. And what^How am I going to tell my wife that that
babys laying at the point of death? And Ive kept it a secret
from her all the time that I really believed in Jesus being that
real prophet was to come. But now, how would I ever get it?
And theres the district presbyter and all the rest of the
ministerial association setting around the house there. And
how can I ever? And wonder where Hes at?
So he goes back in the room, and he begins to wonder.
And, you know, and the first thing you know, he calls his wife
in. He said, Dear, come in and set down just a minute. He
put his hands^Said, Now, Ive got something I want to talk
to you about. First I want to say. Mother, do you remember
how that Ive set up here at nighttime, these candlelights,
reading the Scriptures?
Yes, yes, Jairus. I_I_I know just how you have set up
here and read.
And Ive come in, being gone for two or three days at a
time, telling you, I was out about the Masters business.
Yes. I remember all about it.
Well, Ive kept this back from you. But I want to tell you
something. You know where I was at?
Well, where were you at, dear?
I was tending them meetings of Jesus of Nazareth, that
Galilean prophet. I was attending^

Oh, she said, thats no secret to me. I was reading your
notes that you took of His sermons. See? When I cleaned up
the room, I found the wastebasket laying full of them. You see?
And I just read them where you been searching through the
Scripture.
Sure enough?
Yes.
Well, I tell you. You know what? I truly believe that that
is the Messiah.
Why, she said, dear, are you just now ready to confess
it? I believed it all along.
Now, hes ready. He can tell her now, what^Said, You
know what? Said, Honey, the doctor just told me
something.
What? Our daughter is going to be better?
No, shes dying.
Oh, Jairus, oh, oh, surely, not^
E-30 Yes, yes. She_shes_shes dying. But I wonder
where Jesus of Nazareth is? You know, He_He left and
crossed the sea a few days ago. And Hes gone away. And I_I
wonder where Hes at. If we could only find Him. Well, well,
we just might as well confess our faith and go out.
Well, he walked out before theâll the people and said,
Well, Ive got to announce something. The doctor just told me
that my babys dying, my only girl, twelve years old, is dying.
And so, he tell them, all of them begin to lament, and cry, and
go on.
He said, Now, wait. Thats not our last hope. Just a
moment. Oh, I feel his little face getting red, looked at the
district presbyter, and the bishop, and all them setting around,
you know. And whats he going to do?
But Weve got another hope.
And I can hear the bishop raise up and say, Ah, you want
to consult another doctor?
Well, no, not exactly. But I got something^ And his
heart begins to race real fast, you know. Can you say it? He
stuttered a little bit.
And I can hear his wife say, Go on, tell them, tell them,
tell them.

Well [Brother Branham makes a sound of clearing his
throat_Ed.], brethren, now I know this may excite you just a
little bit. But yes, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
I_I believe that He, that Galilean prophet is the Messiah.

Why, I can see the bishop raised up, and the district
presbyter, and all the dignity, and saying, Why, Jairus, my,
you dont mean youve gone like Luke and the rest of them
did?
Yes, I believe Him. I certainly do.
E-31 Why? Why? Why? He had a need. Gods got a
way of putting it on you in such a way, He will make you come
out with that faith, just bring her right out anyhow. Yes, sir.
Now, I could hear him say, Does anybody know where
Hes at?
One little fellow said, Yes, I_I was sick the other day,
and I_I went down there to see Dr. Luke. And Lukes with
Him, and He_He was over in Gadara, and theyÎ heard by a
courier that theyre coming in today. Theyre supposed to land
this morning down there at the fishing dock.
I can see little Jairus going out and getting his little priest
hat, and putting it on, putting his coat on, start out.
I can hear the district presbyter stand at the door, say,
Now, looky here, young man. Now, youve been one of us for
a long time. Now, if youre going to start such as that and mix
up our congregation, bring such fanaticism as that in our
group, you know whats going to happen? Were going to
excommunicate you. Were going to take your name right off
the book. Thats all.
E-32 Well, I can hear his little heart sinking, like
that. He looked around at his wife, and was standing seeing
what he was going to say, and look over and see his little
dying daughter. He said, You just might as well take her off,
cause here I go. Thats right. Im on my road. He had a
need, rushing. He must go right now.
They said, Remember, if you go, you know whats going
to happen. You know our declaration.
Yes. I understand all about it. But Ive got a dying child
here. And the very thing that Ive hid in my heart all the time,
Ive searched the Scriptures; Ive attending His meetings under
ONLY BELIEVE 19
disguisement; and Ive checked the Scriptures, and He is the
Messiah. Amen. Thats it. Amen. Thats the way to^
Now, youre coming to it, Jairus. Come right out and tell
them whats right. Confess your faith, then youre getting your
right_on the right path then. It isnt kind of gloomy-looking.
E-33 Oh, he said^The church said, now, you
remember, if you do, well, whats going to happen. But Jairus
had a need, the need.
And brother, if there ever was a time, brethren, that we
ought to make our confession that He is the Messiah, the Son
of God, that He is alive then, and His power is just the same,
theres a need today. Today is the hour. People are dying.
People are dying in the churches. People are^
The Pentecostal church is dying. Its going so formal. Its
getting out away from God. If theres any time to step out and
say, We are dying; lets get back to God. Its right now,
because theres a need. Come back to the faith that was once
delivered to the saints.
I know theres a lot of fanaticism. Ill realize that. As I said
at the ministerial breakfast the other morning. You cant
hardly blame pastors. But remember, every time you see
something false, a bogus dollar, its just as sure as anything in
the world its made off of a real one.
E-34 I never was so surprised. One time, I was going
up the road, and I seen a_a_a big bunch of crows or
blackbirds. They were just having the awfullest squalling
time. And I thought, Whats the matter with them? I walked
on up the road. And there was^some of them was in trees,
and some on telegraph poles, and some setting on fences. I
thought, Whats the matter with the birds? There was a
strawberry patch across the_the field. And the man that
owned the patch had went to Florida for a vacation, and he
just let those strawberries there, wouldnt let no one pick
them, because he_he liked to see^He kept them there for
the birds. He just loved to watch the birds.
E-35 And so, while he was gone down to Florida on
a vacation, why, somebody come over there and put a big old
scarecrow up in the field, and wanted to pick the strawberries
themselves, not let the birds have them.
The birds was all excited. Oh, my, they were so excited.
Some of them setting way off in a tree, looking off over there

on them scarecrows, and just as chirping and chirping, and
going on, some setting down on the telegraph poles, and some
setting on the fence post. And I thought, Well now, I wonder
whats the matter?
And I happened to look, setting right on the arms of
those^that old scarecrow set two, big, healthy birds, just
eating as hard as they could eat. I thought, If that isnt the
picture, if that isnt something.
Now, I thought, Well, whats the matter? I walked up a
little close, and I looked. Theres plenty of strawberries. I
thought, Whats the matter, fellows? And thats the way
some of them do. Some of them, will way go, go way back
here. They dont believe in the Holy Ghost or nothing. Some
will come up and say, Well, I believe in a good sanctified life,
but I_I_I_I just dont believe in Divine healing. But others,
will get right down almost to the borderline; but theyre afraid
of the scarecrow. And thats just about where Pentecost is
come now. Youre afraid of the scarecrow.
E-36 Well, brother, a scarecrows a meal ticket.
Amen. Just get in behind the scarecrow; thats all you have to
do. If you see all kinds of false isms and things rise
up^When I said the other night, all these isms will soon
become wasms so they^Theyre_theyre dont worry about
them; but Gods Word will be true. When theres no more
heaven and earth left, Itll still be true. Yes, sir.
There was no condemnation of them setting there eating
strawberries. Brother, they were setting there, big, healthy
birds, just pecking away as hard as they could. Cause they
wasnt caring about the scarecrow. They_they_they just
eating strawberries just the same. So thats what we should
do. When you see these things that you get everybodys talking
so well, and the church getting classical, and the big fellow
saying, Well_well, well just take them into this and that.
You better be careful, brother, theres something wrong
there, somewhere. Theres something wrong. I like to get
where somebody is criticized and made fun of, and then look
around see where^Well, examine it over and see what its all
about. Yes, sir. Its a dinner bell. Just watch right behind it.
Remember, the clubs always lays under the good apple
tree. They dont club off them little old, knotty, drawed-up,
ONLY BELIEVE 21
sour, Days of miracles is passed. Theres nothing to club in
that. Just let them go on.
E-37 But Jairus had a need. And he had a need
because his only child was dying. And thats the same thing it
is tonight. Now, he didnt have to say, Now, Ill wait now. Ill
probably^Maybe, if Id wait a little while, I may go see Him
like Nicodemus did, go in the nighttime. Ill slip over
sometime at night. Ill tell you^ Told, mightve told his wife
something like this.
Well, now there sets the district presbyter out there. And
there sits the bishop. There sets all the church and so forth. Ill
tell you. Ill wait till it gets night. And when it gets night, Ill
slip on my little mask again, and Ill slip over to the meeting.
And after its over I wont let nobody know; Ill slip around
behind the building, say, Say, prophet of Galilee; I believe in
You. I believe in You. Come over here. I got a sick daughter.
No, the daughter was dying right then. He had to go then.
It was time for action. And its time for action, brethren. Its
not time to argue about whether we should be baptized face
forward, or backward, or whether we should belong to this
church, or that church. Its time for the Holy Spirit to come
into the church and get in action. Its later than you think. The
hours here. Its not time to fuss about creeds and about
doctrines and things like that. Its time to get into Gods Spirit
and move on. Cause the atomic bombs are hanging, the
missiles everywhere, and sputniks in the skies. And
everything that Jesus said would take place before the end
time is now taking place. And the Holy Ghost is here, Christ,
right on time, on schedule. Yes. The critics are rising.
E-38 Im going to say this because it wasÎ ask for
it to be abstained one time, and when they did, the brother got
real put-out about it. I^Now, Im going to say it, cause its
on tape, and so, our brother can hear it if he wants to get this
tape. Its concerning Brother David duPlessis; my precious,
brother, friend.
I got a letter of criticism from him. And I_I didnt want to
read it; secretary got it, and so, I_I didnt want to read it;
because I withheld saying his name on a tape. But this is
taped. The tapes are going. Heres exactly what I said. I was
preaching on the nearing of coming of Christ. And Brother
David is dealing with the Presbyterians, Methodists, and

Baptists, and those great men. That is his ministry to them.
God has sent him with a ministry. David is a smart theologian,
scholar and a wonderful man of God. Hes has been with me in
the meetings; hes stood by my side. I love him as only a
brother could love another. And that is true.
But what I said about David, and the church will bear me
witness. I said, It seems like that Brother David, as spiritual
as he is, would wake up to the fact to know that hes dealing
with the sleeping virgin. And the Pentecostal people are so
glad to see the Presbyterians writing in a little declaration:
We got to go back to Divine healers. We got to go back to
speaking in tongues. Youve read the piece where they put
out. We got to go back and having healing services.
Billy Graham talking, Got to go back to Pentecost. Do
you realize, brother, that the very hour that they went to wake
the sleeping virgin up, when she come to buy oil, that was
when Jesus came?
I said, If wonder if Brother David realizes that.
E-39 He thinks the Pentecostal church^They had
their picture in the paper the other day with some Catholic
priests, standing blessing the Pentecostal businessmans
breakfast or something, and things like that; which thats all
right. But I wonder if the church really realizes with it is. Its
a sign. When that sleeping virgin come and knocked at the
gate, thats when she could not get in, for the Bride was gone.
Dont you see? Thats what I said about Brother David (See?),
not nothing concerning his work, or his man_or about his
reputation. And Davids my brother, and one of the finest
godly men that I know of.
But I just wondered how that he_he didnt pick that up, to
realize the very minute that outside denominational world
begins to receive this Message, thats exactly the hour Hes
coming. When they_when they went, the sleeping virgin
realized she didnt have any oil in her lamp. And when she
come to knock on the door to get it, that was exactly when the
Bride went out, when the wise virgin left. Thats right. They
didnt get in. No.
And them organizations wont come in. They wont have
the opportunity to, time the message gets around, the church
will be gone. So if theyre trying to get in right now, how close
are we? When we see as it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it
ONLY BELIEVE 23
be in the coming of the Son of man. The very last message
Abraham and his seed after him, we see every everything lays
just at time. Weve got need. Its time for action. Its not, Wait
till I go away in school and get me a Ph.D., or LL.D. Its get
into the Gospel right now, preach. Yes. Get out there now.
Nows the hour.
E-40 Jairus couldnt wait till tomorrow. His child
was dying. Brethren, we cant wait for a new organization. We
cant wait for something to get stirred up. Its already here.
Weve got to bring Christ on the scene. The Pentecostal church
is dying. Amen. The Assemblies, the Oneness, the Twoness, the
Threeness, the_the Foursquare, all of them, they are dying.
Lets leave these things. Theyre all right. But dont^Just
quit fussing about that; lets bring Christ on the scene.
Thats the way Jairus, had to get Christ on the scene or his
child would die. He must hurry real quick. Hes got to spring
into action. Oh, I love that. Get into action.
Oh, if this group right here tonight, you Methodists, you
Baptists, you Presbyterian, you Pentecostals, Oneness,
Twoness, Threeness, and all of you, if youd spring into action,
laying aside your traditions and malices, bring Christ on the
scene. Open up your heart. Hes here. Amen. His boat just
landed. (Hallelujah.) Hes on the scene.
Somebody said, Yes, faith cometh by hearing.
Say, Yes, Hes coming in for the dock down there now.
Just down below the hill from the parish. Hes coming in down
there now.
Well, here he goes. He grabs his little hat, andÎ dont
care what they say.
E-41 Say, All right, Jairus, youre going to be sorry
one of these days. You know youre springing off on the deep
end. He didnt care deep end or what he ended. He knowed
what his heart told him. And there isnt a person in here
tonight, but if youd do what your heart told you to do, youd
probably be at this altar. Right. There isnt a preacher present,
if youd do what your heart told you to do, but what we would
confess our wrong. Thats right. When you confess,
mineÎm ready to join arms and hearts with men to get
Christ on the scene. Thats the main thing. The childrens
dying. This little book here holds that vision in it. When I
looked over there, they didntÎ did it. When I walked up to

the gate, didnt ask me if I was a Pentecostal Oneness, or a
Threeness, or a Fiveness. The only thing it was, He just let me
come in, because Id loved Christ, and had love in my heart.
Thats the thing now, brethren.
E-42 Jairus had to hurry. His child was dying. Gods
childs a dying; the church is dying. Weve got to do
something. You mightve called it telepathy. You mightve
called it the devil. You mightÎ dont know what you did
call it. But way down deep in your heart, if you believed it was
the truth, brother, youd better put your ecclesiastical hat in
the corner, and say something, and get moving. Thats right.
The church is dying. We need Christ on the scene: time for
action.
Not when I feel like it, not when I take the next notion.
But he had to get people on the scene, because the_or get
Jesus on the scene. Everything else had failed.
I want to ask you something. Is the Pentecostal church
better off tonight because its broke itself up in about thirty
different organizations, or when it started in the beginning?
See? Just ask that. Were constantly getting worse and worse.
Is the women and men in our Pentecostal churches looking
more like saints, praying? Tell me somewhere in the city where
theyre having prayer meeting all night long, day in and out,
for the sins thats done in the city like they used to do it. Are
we any better? Were getting worse.
Oh, our buildings are getting more pretty. Oh, were
becoming more up in the ranks with the other churches. But
who wants to be like them? I want to be like Jesus. And thats
the way every man ought to want to be like: Christ. Lets get
Him on the scene. See? And were^The_the_the churches
are dying. So weve got to do something. We got to hurry. We
aint got no all^We aint got to wait till_till the millennium
to do it. If were going to do it, we got to do it now, or its
going to die. Somethings going to happen.
E-43 Here he goes. I dont care. His little face was
red. Brother, every time he made a step, he thought, Im
better and better all the time. Just make a start one time and
see what happens. First thing you know, he happened to look
down the side of the hill, and what was happening? A little
woman, that he knowed, maybe, of his own parish, was setting
up on top of the hill. And he had knowed that he had talked to
ONLY BELIEVE 25
her about it. And shed said, right out openly, she said one
time, maybe, something like this: Jairus, you know what? I
believe that that prophet over there is a Man of God.
Well, now, sister. I wouldnt^How do_how do you feel
about it? Cause he had watched to know whether she was
just a bait from some of the district men or not, you know.
So said, Well, said, have you ever heard Him?
Oh, yes, occasionally Ive heard Him.
Why, I never heard Him, but Ive heard of Him. So faith
cometh by hearing. And I tell you what. I believe if_if you
could get somebody take me across the sea there in a boat
somewhere, or where Hes at, if I could only touch Him, Id be
made well.
E-44 And here she comes, poor little, spindly, pale
face. Shes coming down the bank. Look at her staggering,
holding unto something. And there, theyre all down there,
saying, Good morning, Reverend. How do you do, Dr.? So
glad to have you over here. And, Rabbi, glad to have you
back again. [Brother Branham makes a noise as if clearing
his throat_Ed.] Looking at one another, you know.
Little Jairus standing up there^You know, used to kind
of throw off the_the^You know, there was a lot of people
believed on Him, so he had to watch, you know, what they
said. So he come back, after while this little woman, he^She
said, Would you help me, kind sir, to get over there till Id
like to speak with Him?
Oh, dont you listen to that. Were just standing out here.
Were going^Were fixing to trap him. We got a trap set for
him this morning; were really going to get him this morning.
You just watch (See?), were^Thats the reason, were calling
him, Hello, there, Dr. Hello, Rabbi.
See? We got a trap set for him; were going to upset him
this morning. So this^Because they say he knows the
secrets of the heart. We got it all fixed all for him. Like
somebody had for me the other night, and got failed, when the
Holy Spirit come down. And I dont know whether you noticed
it or not, but it sure did_was a great stumble to that old boy.
E-45 And then when_when they, first thing you
know, come along and said, He walked down. She couldnt get
to Him. So she got down on her hands and knees, got to

crawling between their feet, like this, till she got up. And
maybe, little Jairus standing up there watching her, as she
touched the border. A little pleased look come her face. She
went back out there.
And Jairus was standing watching that, you know:
watching. Said, I seen her, and I know her. And she moved
through there and touched His garment. And now, shes gone
back out there. And she looks like shes pleased. She looks like
that that^She told me one time, if she could only touch Him,
thats what would happen: shed get well. And I know doctors
give her up long time ago. Since she started in menopause,
with that blood issue, shes had it there for years and years.
And so, poor little thing, I felt sorry for her. Her husband sold
the horses and everything and paid off the doctor bill, and
shes just no better than she ever was. She^Poor little thing,
I feel sorry for her.
Jesus stopped and looked around, said, [Brother Branham
makes a noise as to clear his throat_Ed.] Who touched Me?
And he said, Why, apostle said, why, everybodys
touching You. Why? Why do You say such a thing as that,
Rabbi? or_or Lord? She^
But He said, I_I got weak. I_I felt something go out of
Me, a virtue went out of Me. And He looked around to the
little woman, and told her her blood issue had stopped.
I imagine that encouraged old Jairus, dont you imagine
so? Directly here he come, running through and he said,
Lord, my little girl is laying now at the point of death.
Lord^?^Master.
Oh, yes, Hes all right. Hes not a fanatic now. Oh, no, huh-
uh. Hes got a need of Him.
E-46 And you might call this everything you want
to, but one of these days when you come right down to the
bed, itll be different. Thats right. It wont be a holy-roller
bunch of crazy people at that time. Thats right.
Oh, Rabbi, Master, My Lord, My little girl is laying at the
point of death, if Youll just come and lay Your hands on her,
she_shell get all right. Everything will be all right. The
doctor just left about an hour ago. Rabbi, I_I_I_Ive give up
everything. I_I theyre going to kick me out of the association
and everything. But I_Ive_Ive always been a believer in You.
But Ill tell you, something is worked out, till I just had to
ONLY BELIEVE 27
confess it. So here I am. My girls going to die, and if Youll
just come and lay hands on her, she wont die. Shell live.
Jesus said, Ill go. Yeah, Ill go with you.
E-47 And He starts along with it like that. And I can
imagine priest saying, Did you hear what, and who, that is?
Well, thats Dr. Jairus. My, could you imagine him? What
about^Wont the association kick him out? Oh, hes had it
now. Brother, at the next conference theyll sure pour it on
him. Lets all go over, brethren, just see what the chief priests
going to say, what theyre going to_how they excommunicate
him.
Little Jairus didnt care. His daughter was dying. And he
had the_he had the attention of Jesus; thats all he cared
about. And as long as you get His attention, what different
does anything else make any difference? Walking along like
that, and, as he goes, moving along, you know. And the little
woman she was so happy because her blood issue had stopped.
E-48 And then the first thing you know, here come a
man, over the hill, hollering, Dont bother. Never mind.
Then the midnight blow come (Oh, my.), that stroke. Say,
Jairus, I told you you oughtnt to went down there. See? Here
comes the presbyter and all of them. Your girl died about an
hour ago. I told you, Days of miracles is passed.
Oh, my. That midnight blow, you know^His little heart
begin to jump. He thought, Oh, oh, oh. I_I told Him if Hed
come lay my hand, His hands^
Now, he had faith in the hands of Jesus. Thats^He was
a Jew. Now, it was different, Peter, that night when He was
walking on the water, when He seen Jesus walking along,
thought it was a spirit. He said, Lord, if it be You, bid me
come.
The word was, Come. Thats right. Thats right.
And the day when he was catching fish, he pulled all night
long, hadnt got any fish at all. He said, told him, said, Can I
borrow your boat a minute to preach from, Simon?
Yes. Well, He preached from it awhile.
Said, Now, launch out into the deep and let down for a
draught. See?

E-50 And as soon as they said, Well, here you

Some kind lady, or something another come by, and got
him in her_her_her hand, and took him over to the pool, said,
Old fellow hes the pool, why is it?
Oh, Ive just got the Word of God that told me when I
washed, Id see. And oh, my. Oh, his sight came to him. Then
he come back rejoicing. It was the pool for him.
But when Mary, that morning when she had to take
the_go down and get some water at the well. And she looked
standing there, and there stood a big bright Light. She looked
at that Light, had enshrouded an Angel that said He was
Gabriel. Said, The Holy Ghost is going to overshadow you,
and youre going to bring forth a Child, knowing no man.

She said, Behold the handsmaid of the Lord. Be it unto
me according to Thy Word. Thats all she wanted. She didnt
want to^She didnt say, Wait, now when Im
overshadowed, and then if I feel life, then I go testifying.
When Im about four months, will it all right then? Or when
should I testify of it? She didnt ask no question. She had His
Word, and that was good enough for her. She started
testifying right then.
E-51 And Im giving you His Word. By His stripes
you were healed. Amen.
You that hasnt got the Holy Ghost, Im giving you His
Word. Peter said on the day of Pentecost, when the critics
were standing around, he said, Repent, every one of you. Be
baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your
sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the
promise is unto you and to your children.
Well, the_the bishop told me, the presbyter told me, the
district man told me, the pastor told me, Them days was
gone.
I dont care what they said; the Bible said, The promise is
unto you, and to your children, and to them thats called, even
as many as the Lord our God shall call. Thats His Word;
receive It. He sent His Word. Thats what it takes, His Word.
But Jairus wanted His hands. You know, I think, Gods a

heard the word that Jesus was raised from the dead, said,
Praise God, thats fine.
But Thomas said, Ive got to put my fingers in the prints

myself. I seen it work on others in the meetings, but its got to
be on me. Oh, Thomas has got a lot of children, but he^But
Gods a good God. He_He works around anyhow.
He said, Come here, Thomas. Feel Me. Now, it works on
you. Do you believe, Thomas?
Said, Oh, yeah, youre my Lord now. I believe it now.
He said, How much greater is their reward whos never
seen and yet believe. Amen. They take Gods Word for it.

all the critics out, you know, saying, There he goes along.

bother no more. Said, He_he^The baby died; its dead.
We done laid it out up there, and its got the flowers on it, and
got the embalming clothes, the fluids on it. And theres no
need of fooling any more, the kids done dead. Doctor come
back; we went and got him, and he announced it dead. And he
done got it laying out, and its cold, laying in the room on the
death couch. And_and all the mourners are around, and
theres a lamentation around there. You never heard nothing
like it. So^
E-53 Jesus walking steady (Oh, I love that. Couldnt
you just see Him, brethren?) never bothered Him a bit^Little
Jairus heart was beating^?^Looked over.
Jesus, I can see Him turn them eyes and said, Did not I
say to you, Only believe.
Oh, thats what I say to you. Only believe Gods Word if
you want to see the glory of God. Only believe, no matter what
anybody else says, how sick you are.
But, Brother Branham, the doctor said I was going to die
in a few days. Only believe.
He said, My baby cant get well. But only believe. Thats
all. Only believe that God made the promise.
E-54 Ill never walk again, Brother Branham, the
doctor told me that. Only believe, for all things are possible
to them that believe. Only believe. Only believe. Thats all you

He didnt say, Jairus, well, Jairus, Im sorry I caused you
this trouble. Now, your church has excommunicated you, and
your in trouble with your brethren, and all that. I_I know
that. And everything. I really feel sorry for you, Jairus, but, if
I could have got there a little bit sooner, why, it might have
been all right; but, Jairus, I_Im_Im sorry to cause you this
trouble. Oh, no. Oh, no.
He said, Did not I say to you, only believe, if you want
see the glory of God? Oh, I imagine that helped his heart,
dont you? I imagine seeing his little heart skipping them
beats, just start beating back regular again.
Then his eyes was off of the presbyter, off the chief priest,
off the rest of the congregation. And walking around, saying,
What are you going to do at the next conference, boy? What
are you going to do? But he kept his eyes on Jesus. Amen.
There you are. Keep your eyes on Jesus. I dont care what
anybody else says.
Whats the neighbor going to say? I dont care what the
neighbor says. That aint got nothing to do with it; its what
God said. The neighbors not my judge. God is my Judge. And
He will judge me by Jesus Christ, Who Im following. Amen.
No matter what anyone else says, its what God said, thats
what makes it truth. Amen. God said it; it makes it the truth.
Critics can say anything they want to, but it_it takes what
God says to make it be the truth. All right.
E-56 Jesus said, Only believe. Believe what?
Believe what, now? Shes dead. Believe for the impossibles.
Yeah. Believe for the impossible. Why, after shes done dead
and embalmed, believe now?

in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. Whosoever
believeth in Me shall never die. If ye abide in Me and My Word
in you, ask what you will, and itll be given to you. Is that
right? All these promises^
Works that I do shall you do, also. Greater works than
this shall you do, cause I go to My Father. All these promises
here^Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
He was wounded for our transgression (was wounded for our
transgression), bruised for our iniquity, chastisement of our
peace upon Him; with His stripes we were healed.
E-57 Only believe. Only believe. Hes coming soon.
He brought Abraham justified him, sanctified him, filled him
with the Holy Ghost, placed him as a son, showed Himself
alive by turning His back, and talking, and telling what Sarah
said in the tent. And then changed his body, and took him out,
give him a son
Hes done the same thing through the seed of Abraham, all
but change the body. Justified, sanctified, filled with the Holy
Ghost, placed a son, is coming among us now, showing
Himself alive. And waiting for the change of the body, for the
rapture to come and take us up to meet Him. Here it is. Just on
time. Only believe. Just keep marching on. Gods great big
time clocks ticking just exactly right. Oh, for the only
believe^Sure.
So Jesus finally gets to the house. Theres everybody
hollering, Oh, Lord, Oh, Lord, why did You do it? Why did
You do it?
Jesus walks in just as calmly and quiet, said, Quieten
down. Be at peace. The girls not dead. Shes only asleep.
And then the Bible said, They laughed at Him.
He said, Now, you know what kind of a prophet He is.
When weve got her embalmed and He says, Shes asleep.

E-58 Could you imagine? And the Bible said, They
laughed Him to scorn, making shame, laughed Him to scorn.
You know what He did when they laughed at His Word? He
put them out. And thats exactly what well do at the end. And
you critics, thats what will happen to you one of these days.
You laugh at His Word, and laugh at His works.
You say, Them people is holy-rollers thats speaking in
tongues and dancing in the Spirit. You say, Theyre a bunch
of holy-rollers. Youre laughing at His Word, because thats
the Word made human flesh here dwelling among us.
Some of you preachers out there saying this is mental
telepathy, or, the devil or something like that. Someday youll
have to take that back in His Presence. He will put you out of
His Kingdom for it. Thats right. He wont let people laugh at
Him; He will put them out again.
He went through the house and put the whole bunch of
them out. Everybody that laughed, went out.
E-59 The Bible said, If you speak one^When
Jesus stood there that day and_and was discerning the spirits,
and them bunch of priests said, Why, thats Beelzebub, the
fortuneteller.
Anybody knows a fortuneteller is a devil. So he said,
Thats Beelzebub, the fortuneteller, calling the work of God,
going on, an unclean spirit.
Jesus said, I forgive you for that, but someday the Holy
Ghost will come; then you speak one word against It, thats all
you have to do. And youll never be forgiven in this world, and
at the other world youll be put out also. Thats how serious
it is. See? Yes, sir. Never forgiveness of it in this world, nor
neither in the world to come, to blaspheme, or speak or call
the Holy Ghost an unclean thing. He put them out. You see
whats happening today? The same thing. You see where
theyre going out, going out into the world, spiritually.
You remember the last plague hit Egypt? What was the
last plague hit Egypt which was the type of the church going
out? Was death. Whats the last plagues hit the Pentecostal
church? Spiritual death. Its going right on back like the rest
of the world: spiritual death. But the circumcised with the
blood on the door took the homeward march (Thats exactly.)
with a Pillar of Fire going before them to lead them away.

E-60 Oh, Im so glad tonight. Im so glad tonight to
know that theres a circumcision of the heart, that God will
cut away all the world, and all the traditions of men, and
everything else, and we can see Jesus, and see Him standing
there in a Pillar of Fire, going before, performing the works,
and doing exactly what God said would do, and bring forth a
church filled with the Holy Ghost, and doing the works, that
He said. Im so glad, tonight, that thatsÎ_Im soÎm the
happiest person in this world because of it, because that He
promised it.
Yeah, He put them out, because they laughed at the Word.
Yeah. Then He got them all out, and then Jesus was alone with
what? The broken-hearted and the faithful. He brought Peter,
James, and John: faith, hope, and charity, put them in the
building with Him, put the rest of them on the outside, then
Jesus was alone with the broken-hearted believers, weeping
because that they were_their little girl was dead laying there.
The little thing was laid out a corpse, flowers laying around
her. Put all the unbelievers out away from Him, like that^
E-61 Oh, how hard it is when unbelief^Like last
night when we was setting here in the meeting, that streak of
unbelief struck this place, it was justÎt was terrible.
One of these nights, Im just going to reach right down and
call them guys out. Its going to hurt a lot of feelings, but its
goodÎ used to do that all the time, and you know I did. But
I_Ive held_restrained from it, just because the feeling of the
people, cause if you pluck up the_the tares, you get a lot of
wheat too. See? So now, its too close to the end time now. So
well just go ahead, just keep marching. But when it_it_it
hinders the people. It really hinders the people that cant have
faith, that cant believe. See, when such as that is going on.
And so, then when He got everything out, everybody but
just, His faith, hope, and charity, standing there: Peter, James
and John, the faithful ones, and the real believing father and
mother, He walked over to the corpse. Oh, See? He couldnt
have done it, standing there, all them saying, Why, look at
that? A prophet, and says shes asleep. Now, I told you, told
you, told you. See how it is? That_that^Theres nothing to
it. Its just a big bunch of emotion, workup; thats all there is
to it.
ONLY BELIEVE 35
Jesus couldnt do a thing about it; He couldnt do a thing
about it tonight. When He come to His own country, not
anything_many works He could do, because of their unbelief.
And them carrying on like that, neither could He do it then,
and He cannot do it tonight. But if He could just ever get them
shut out to a place that He could be with the believers^
Then He walked over to the corpse that was laying there.
The little girl was dead, perhaps, embalmed and laying out.
Walked over and took her by the hand, looked out there into
the space world, yonder somewhere where her soul had went,
and said, Maiden, arise.
How could death exist in the presence of Life? The little
girl, the wrinkles on her forehead begin_her smooth little
forehead begin to wrinkle, and her eyes come open. He took
her by the hand, and raised her up, said, Give her something
to eat. And dont, just dont say nothing about it. Let them
alone out there. Dont tell them nothing; just_just go ahead.
(See?) Let it go.
E-62 Oh, my. All things are possible. Only believe.
What was He? He was the Word of God flesh. And tonight
theyre_that same God is, same Word of God is in your flesh,
if Christ is in there. And Hes the same Lord Jesus; you could
touch His garment or whatever you wished to. If youll only
believe that Hes here, He will do the same thing for you. Do
you believe it?
Lets bow our heads just a moment. Im going to ask the
organist here, if they will go to the organ just a moment. I
want you to play, Only Believe.
Everyone, now, please, dont stir around. Just a moment.
After preaching like that, its kind of a hard thing. I just want
to pray. I want to see what He will do, ask what He will do for
me, ask what He will do for you.
E-63 Billy, told me today, he, or when I come in out
there awhile ago, when I brought my wife and them up, he
said, Daddy, I got over a little late there, and I got messed
around; I didnt give out any prayer cards. So why dont you
just preach to them tonight?
I said, Okay, Ill just do that. So I feel that were going
to pray for the sick anyhow, whether we got prayer cards or
not. See? Well pray for the sick anyhow.

I can see Him standing there with Jairus. I can hear that
courier saying, Dont trouble Him. It_its already dead. Your
childs dead. Dont_dont_dont trouble any more. All_all
hopes is gone, and now a heart skip of that little man^
Maybe, when I said awhile ago, we are_wont have a
prayer line, didnt give out any sick, cards for the sick, your
heart mightve took a skip too.
I come, Brother Branham, to beÎ_I_I wanted to get a
prayer card tonight. I want to be prayed for. Just only
believe. If you just_just only believe, thats all. Hes already
said the Word; just only believe. You dont have to get up here;
just stay where you are and only believe, for He said, All
things are possible, only believe.
I want you to be real reverent. Just pray now. Every sick
person in here, every person in here thats sick and wants
Christ to come to you, I want you to raise your hand. Just raise
up your hand wherever you are. A sick person in hereÂll
right. Just everywhere, almost solid.
E-64 Now, put your hands down. Now, what did
that little woman do? She touched His garment. She got
down there too late to get a prayer card, wed say. But she
touched His garment. She got her healing, just the same as the
little girl got her spirit drawed back. Whether He laid hands
on her, or whether she touched Him, or_or^They was both
Jewish. So whether she touched HimÔr the dead girl
couldnt touch Him, so He had to touch the dead girl. So you
can touch Him tonight. Hes a High Priest that can be touched
by the feeling of our infirmities.
You out there in the audience, youre all strangers to me. I
see Brother Ed Daulton setting here. And I know I have other
friends. IÔh, setting_setting on the corner here is some
folks from Tennessee. I just met the young girl out here in the
hall coming in.
Now, Im going to say this. If you are an unbeliever, I
wouldnt even stay in the building, or around the building.
Because I want to tell you, that if evil spirits, like cancer or so
forth, would leaveÂnd all of us know they are alive, cause
theyre in us destroying our lives. And remember, in the Bible
when those evil spirits went out of one, they went to another.
So if youre not a believer, I wouldnt be near now, cause
there is believers close. And remember, how many times have I

adjured you, how many times have I showed you, that those
things do. After the meetings over, most always theres
somebody calls in, or writes in: Brother Branham, I_I_I was
an unbeliever. And I went the other day, when that woman,
you told her had cancer, I said, Thats nonsense. And the
doctor told me I have cancer now. See, see? Just remember. I
speak in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Its up to you. Its up to
you. Now, just have faith and believe.
E-65 Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be
Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thine will be done in earth, as
it is in heaven. Eternal and gracious God, I pray tonight, that
You in this audienceÎ just love to talk about You, Jesus.
Youre my_Youve been my life for thirty-one years. How I
love You. How, Im so glad that night, that I_I accepted You
as my Saviour. Im so happy, so glad that when You
commissioned me to go preach the Gospel. And then that night
when You told me, Go, pray for the sick. And told me that
them visions had been coming, was not what my brethren had
told me was a evil spirit, but It was You; and It would stir the
whole nation, the whole world into a revival. And Its done it,
Lord. Youre Words are true.
Then when You stood there, over me, that day on the river,
when those thousands of people standing there looking, right
at two oclock in the afternoon, out of them brassy skies, and
that big Light roaring around over the top, the Voice saying,
As John the Baptist was sent forth, this Message will be the
second, before the coming of the Christ. And we see, Lord, its
done that very thing. And we see the time moving up now.
Your Words are all true. And now, here we are at the end of
the road, right out, gleaning across the fields here, getting the
last straw from this last revival.
E-66 Now, Father, were once more again in this
great crossroads of the world here tonight, Chicago, Illinois.
How people has longed to say, Oh, if it could be shook, if it
could be shook^
O God, that atomic fodder running out there on the street
will never be shook. Itll be shook with an atomic bomb. But
Your church has been shook like never before. Its seen things
that It never seen, and no church behind it seen since Christ
was on earth. Its been shook, Lord. Your real people has
believed with all their heart.

Now, its time for the change to come, great drought, the
spiritual drought to hit the land, and then the coming of
Christ. I pray that Youll grant, Lord, tonight, that this one
more time, so that the GospelÂnd maybe there might be a
stranger among us. If that persons here tonight, and out from
under the Blood, I pray, God that something will be done, that
Youll do something tonight, like You did down there at
Emmaus, that time, and prove a sign to the people, just like
You did before Your crucifixion, that they might that Youre
the same Jesus thats raised from the dead and is here tonight.
I commit myself with the message thats went forth, and
the Christ thats present to Almighty God, for His service to
continue. In Jesus Name, may many be helped. Amen.
E-67 Now, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I take every
spirit in here under my control for the glory of God. Now, be
faithful; pray. Just have faith.
Now, were not going to call prayer cards up here, cause I
dont think we have any in here; may have a straggling now
and then. Its real late anyhow. Prayer line get formed, it
would be over time. Its ten oclock now. But I want to say
something. All you people out there that knows that Im a
stranger to you, and youre sick, and you believe that Christ is
a High Priest, He sent me here, to be just the_the vine, I mean,
the branch on the Vine^You believe if you could touch Him,
Hed speak through me and do the same work? Raise up your

Now, you look this way. One case ought to prove it. But
lets have at least three of them. I want you to believe with all
your heart. If thou canst believe, all things are possible. I

You say, What side to start, brother? I dont know; its
what side He starts, where He starts; I can only go as He goes.
See? I just have to watch, and wherever it starts, Im watching
for a_a something. Its anointing. Now, here I am; God knows.
See? But before His Word, that I_I do not know you. I know
two or three people, one setting right here, two. I think thats
Sister Downing, is that right? I think it is. See? I know this

You see that, Satan. Youre a liar.
You say, Does he tempt you like that, Brother Branham?
Why, certainly he stands, tries to tempt me. If hes tempting
you, what do you think hes doing to me here?
Setting right back there, theres a man praying for a child,
setting next there: got something wrong with its feet. That is
right, isnt it? I dont know you; youre a stranger to me. But
Mr. Farmer, do you believe that Gods going to heal the child
and make it well? If Im a stranger to you, raise your hands
like that. Is that what you was praying about? Is that what
your name is and all about it? Just raise your hand. You have
your request.
Theres a lady setting right here. Shes got arthritis. Shes
got eczema in her ear. Mrs. McGill, stand up on your feet if

Before Almighty God, I never seen them people in my life.
I ask you to believe. Just have faith. Dont doubt.

shes worried about it. God help me know her. Mrs. Miller,
stand up and accept your healing. Jesus Christ makes you

That lady, colored lady, setting right behind her, right
back over there in the_this way from me, got a_a tumor;
youre fixing to go to the hospital for an operation, or they
want you to. A little lady, I can just see her between two white
men, raise up, lady. Im a stranger to you. I do not know you.
You have a prayer card? You do not. Ive never met you in my
life. Were strangers to one another. If thats right, wave your
hand like this. What I told you is the truth? Jesus Christ heals
you. Go home and receive your healing.

you can go home too. You believe Jesus Christ now makes you
well. All right. Then go home, be made well.
How many believes Him now, that Hes Jesus Christ. Its
time to rise on the scene. Its time to believe with all your
heart. Do you believe it? How many will accept Him now as
your Healer? Hes crossed the building, back and forth, in and
out, forward and backward, believing it. Do you believe it
with all your feet_all your faith that you can? Stand to your
feet in the Name of Jesus Christ and receive your healing.

Its nice to be out again tonight here in the auditorium, so
beautifully seated out, with the people. And under
expectations of seeing the working and of_of the Holy Spirit,
to come among us again tonight.
We have certainly enjoyed every hour of this service, being
here. Theres^Since last Sunday evening, or last Sunday
afternoon rather^We had such a wonderful, marvelous time,
and the Holy Spirit has did great things in our midst. We have
seen Him heal the sick, and do miracles, and save the people,
and fill them with the Holy Spirit, and just great things. What
more could we ask of Him than that? And what we have seen
Him do.

E-2 Im so glad to know that were living in the last day,
and as ministers of the Gospel, we have the privilege of
speaking, I believe, to the Elect of God in the last days. And
what a privilege this is for we ministers to have this privilege
of setting on earth here today. And speaking to the last church
age, the last Church.
I believe that, truly, with all my heart. That we are
speaking now to the last church age. That will finally wind up
in the Laodicea Church and then well^Jesus will come and
itll all be over. And Ill be glad when that happens.
I feel like John of old. Even so, come Lord Jesus. said,
Even so. Ive just about seen enough of it. I was going
around, and look like instead of getting better, why, the world
gets more wicked all the time. So I_I think like John said,

here of the printed vision. And every time I think of that, my
heart burns to just get further into the meeting. Do something
right away, because its_wont be long till perhaps we wont
have time to do anything. So we want to do it now while we

believe right here on the grounds. I believe theyÎts already
been announced. That there will be a Businessmens breakfast
tomorrow. And I think the public is invited to this. As long as

And it falls my lot in the morning, if it be pleasing to God,
to_to speak: one of the speakers at least, at the breakfast. And
I trust that the Lord will meet with all of us, and if youve
never been to one of these breakfasts^Some of you
businessmen here, of the city, it would certainly do you good
to come and hear what God has did for other businessmen.

E-4 Now, you may be a prosperous man, as far as the_as
your business is concerned. But were not trying to introduce
something to you to make you a better_or_or make your
business better. Were trying to introduce something to you
thatll make you better. Thats_thats Christ (see?), the Christ.
As I said the other night, the Church long lost its program
when it tried to compare with the world, with education and
with frolic, and with the entertainment and so forth. We_well
never compare with them. The children of the night is smarter
than the children of the day. They_theyre wiser. Jesus said
so.
And we could never give them the entertainment,
and_and after all, the Gospel is not a glare, its a glow. See?
Its a glow: soft and sweet. And we_theres just one thing we
have that the world does not have, and cannot have unless
they become one of us; We have Jesus. Thats it. We have
Jesus.

E-5 Were not as smart as they are. Were not as far as
advanced in science. We know nothing about that. And we are
not trying to keep up with them in the_have a_a better
education, or better schools, or so forth. And say, Our church
has this school, and so forth. Thats all right in that line, but
we have Jesus. Thats what we are trying to bring to the
world, is Jesus Christ.

And Hes the Son of God. And Hes our Saviour. And we
know Him in the power of His resurrection. And thats the real
thing.
Now, some of us are^My, for myself, I do not_maybe not
know His Book too well, but I_I know Him real well. And
thats^He^Just all I have to know is know Him. Knowing
His Book dont give you Eternal Life. But to know Him is Life.
To know Him, the Person of the Book is Life.

Lord willing, to have another healing service. And then
tomorrow_or Sunday afternoon closes this meeting. And then
I go off then to up in northern British Columbia, and Dawson
Creek, and Grande Prairie, and Fort Saint John, and through
that part of the country up there, for the_perhaps the rest of
the summer.
So be in prayer for us now. And we hope to see you at the
breakfast in the morning and continuing on through the

brethren up here tonight. The reason theyre setting here, is
because theyre ministers of this same Gospel. And find where

E-7 Now, little Joseph here, Boze, hes always told me that
years agoÔut on Lakeshore Drive, we set one day. And he
said, in his broken English, Bruder Branham, we
have_always had a feeling in my heart that I wanted to see
Chicago shook. I want to see Chicago shook. Said, Years
ago, I come from New York here to see Chicago shook.
The other morning, just before my interviews, I had
breakfast with Joseph. And Ive always loved him so much.
And so then, I said, Brother Joseph, your_your great desire
has been fulfilled, only I dont believe you understand it. See?

doesnt mean this here atomic fodder running around out here.
That means the Church. The Church is the one gets the
shaking. Just_not the ecclesiastical group, but the_the body
of Christ. Thats the one that shakes and gets back into

And they_the Chicago group has_knows that to be. That
they have had a real shaking in the last few years. In these last
six or seven years. How great men of God has come to this city
and preached to the Elect, and signs and wonders and
miracles has took place, till its without an excuse. Absolutely,
its without an excuse. Its repent or perish. Thats all.

E-8 Now, you that keep account of the_or take down texts,
as we would call it. Ive got a few Scriptures and_and notes
written here tonight, on a little subject, that I ought to get
through within, by eleven oclock, a little later. And
soÎ^last night I^Thank you, thats nice of you.
Each night, Billy said, I want to see when you go to
Chicago, if you can get through one night and_at nine-thirty.
I want to see if you can do it.
Oh, I said, that will be easy. I know Im going to preach
twenty minutes any night.
Every night, he goes out, he said, How much did you miss
it tonight?
I said, Not over two hours, something like that.
But I_I dont know very much, but I just love to keep
telling what I know. So^Till it soaks in.

E-9 An old minister one time, went to a church. I know this
is no place to_for joking. I dont mean this in jokes. But just
that I might change the way of thinking just for a moment. He
went to a church, and the first night he preached was on
Repent. The second night he preached, was on Repent.
The third, fourth, fifth, sixth night, he preached on Repent.
Well, that was all right. So the elders of the church called
him out and said, Doctor, said, we appreciate your message

on repenting, but for six nights straight, youve preached
on_the same message on repentance.
He said, Oh, well. Thats all right.
Said, You dont have another message?
He said, Oh, yes. But let them all repent first, then I
preach on something else, You see? So^that is it.
After they all repent, well then he will preach on
something else. So thats pretty good philosophy. You see?
Repent till we all get repented. That would be good. Im sure
wed be here a long time.

E-10 Over in II Kings, the 3rd chapter. And I want to
read the 15th verse.
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass,
when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord
came upon him.
And if I would want to pull from there a text, that I might
draw a context, I might take this subject here, Getting In The
Spirit.
It was quite a change that happened around in Palestine at
these days. One great thing had taken place, a great notable
prophet had been translated, taken up into glory. And it was a
great loss to the Church, when a great man like that is taken
out.

E-11 But what a consolation it should have give the
nation, which was the Church then. To know that this man
being sent to them to represent God, had went home without
even dying, that had been raptured and taken up. A very
beautiful type, Elijah was, of the_this day.
When_may be a little off the beaten line from some man
who knows the Bible better than I. But I kindly believe that
there will be a message in the last days, something like Elijah.
And that Elijah Church like, will be_not die but be
translated, taken up. Fire will take it up into glory, the
Pentecostal Fire will rapture it up.

E-12 However, God always makes a_a way for His
Church. When Hes finished with one man, He has another one
waiting. And God takes His man, but never His Spirit. He
always got somebody else He can put His Spirit on.
And its strange, but through the Bible, He never had two
prophets, major prophets in operation at the same time. He
always had one prophet. Then when He got through with that
one, He_taken him away and put another one in his place.

E-13 Thats what He had did. Hed just change
messengers, but the same Spirit: Elijah and Elisha. And how I
wished I had time to enter it tonight, to notice that when God
had called the old tired prophet off the field^He had
preached against Jezebel and her worldly crowd, and bawled
out Ahabs, and leaders, and ministerial associations and
everything till he was tired. And God was going to take him
home. So He just brought him down to the river and^
Before He did, He wanted to anoint someone whod take
that same message. You see, that same message had to remain.
So he went down and throwed his robe across Elisha. And
Elisha, after he had the robe of Elijah on him, he mustve took
it back. He just throwed it across him, and he must have took
it back again. Because it fell from his shoulders when he went
up.

E-14 Now, we find out that ElishaÊlijah tried to
discourage him. Said, You wait here, because the Lord has
called me up somewhere else. And then he_find out he went
to three stages: To Gilgal and on up to the school of the
prophets, and Jericho and then down to the river, and crossed
Jordan with him.
And if we notice, as we preached last Sunday on Abraham
and his seed after him. We found out that He gave Abraham
three junctions: Through justification, calling him in the 12th
chapter; 15th chapter, through the blood sacrifice was
sanctification; Through the 17th chapter, to nurse his strength

from his body, the Holy Spirit into Abrahams body to
strengthen him for the oncoming son.
As Hes did the Church, so did He the seed of Abraham:
justification, through Luther, sanctification, through Wesley,
the baptism of the Spirit through the Pentecostal move. Then
the placing of the Son, giving gifts into the Church. Then
appearing in the form of^He was God in the flesh,
manifesting Hisself, knowing the secrets of the heart and what
Sarah was doing in the tent behind Him.

E-15 How those junctionsÂnd finding those
churches coming right along in that same place^How He
had to change the body of Sarah and Abraham next, after that
message. In order to receive the promised son. And thats what
He has done to this Church, brought it through the same thing.
Now, the next thing is a change in a moment, in a
twinkling of an eye and goingÂnd well have to have a
changed body. Now, Sarah and Abraham in that kind of a
body, could not receive the promised son. They were a
hundred years old. He had to change their body. Not turn
them back so much as to young, which He did. But also,
change them. Because theyd been like they was at the first
place.
But He changed their body in such a way, that they could
receive the son. And now, we find the next thing in order for
the Church now, is a changed body, not us old people go back
and be young so much. But we will, and we will be there
young, just as certain. But we got to have a changed body in
order to receive the Son, because were going to meet Him in
the air. Rapture will come, a changed in a moment, in a
twinkling of an eye.

E-16 Now, we find out that God brought Elisha
through the same process, three different stages. And then
after he left the school, went down to the Jordan, and crossed
over Jordan, then he had a double portion of Elijahs spirit
was upon him.
Now, Jesus said, These things that I do shall you also.
More than this shall you do, for I go to the Father. Is a type of

Christ and the Church. Christ was taken up, and the same
Spirit was upon Christ, came on His Church.
Now, where Christ could only be in one place ministering,
now in His Church, He could be universal, ministering all
around the world. Just think, here we are in Chicago tonight
with Christ, ministering. Over in Philadelphia, ministering
Christ. Africa, Japan, Asia, Europe, everywhere,
Mini^People at this very minute, around the world, are
being healed by the power of God. People are receiving the
Holy Ghost by the dozens, this very minute (See?), around the
world: A double portion, His Spirit poured out in the last
days.

E-17 As soon as the school of theology, up on top of
the mountain from Jericho, come back and seen Elijah_Elisha
cross over. And seen the miracle that he did, just exactly like
Elisha did it. Why, they said, The spirit of Elisha_Elijah
rests on Elisha.
And then we find out then that the people knew that the
Spirit of God was upon this prophet. So they consulted him, if
he wouldnt perform some miracle for them, for something
good. He said, We got a beautiful city here. Sets on the hill
and the_the views are pretty and its a fine place for a school
and so forth. As Elijah has built, but the water here is bitter.
And they needed some new_a spring.

E-18 And of course, they were changing. And they
had to have a new fountain opened up. And so, you cant put
new wine in old bottles. Itd burst them, you know. And I
think today is a day also, when we_we need a change of
water. We need a cruse of salt, a new cruse of salt in which
there has never been anything in before.
And God usually does that. Rise up some little person out
of somewhere that knows nothing and throws a cruse of salt
into some old ecclesiastical water. And the first thing you
know, its all become sweet again, another revival, the Holy
Ghost a falling on everybody and going everywhere.
Thats what we_we need tonight. Thats what we need
again, is another dash of salt, dont you think so to sweeten up
ONLY BELIEVE 49
the water? Remember, he took a brand new cruse. Wherein
there had been nothing and put salt in it. Now, salt is a savour
if it contacts. But its got to contact first. Its got to make its
contact.

E-19 Now_now, in the_the_back in the political
world, there had been a great change also. There had been a_a
man by the name of Ahab had died. And his son, Jehoram,
reigned in his place. And he was just about like, oh, I guess his
father Ahab, hed straightened up a few things, but got bad in
some more.
And so, thats about the way it is too. When we make up a
new system, why, we take out a few things the old system
didnt have and put in something maybe worse. And we just
keep moving on like that. But thats the way it had happened
during this time.
So a few nights ago, I spoke on Jehoshaphat coming down
to meet Ahab, and made an alliance with him. And he got in
wrong company.

E-20 Now, its strange that Jehoshaphat, still king in
the eighteenth year of his reign. When Jehoram taken over
Ahabs place, Jehoshaphat came down_or Jehoram sent up to
him, because he got in trouble.
And Jehoshaphat come right back again into the wrong
company. Isnt it strange that we do those things? They jump
right out of the frying pan into the fire. You find that people
will, if^Theyll come right out and start to serve God, and
then the first thing you know, theyll go right back into the
world again.
The Bible says, As a dog goes to its vomit and a sow to
the wallow^ And the dog ought to know if the vomit made
him sick enough to_to get it out the first time, itll do the
same thing the second time. And if sin of the world will make
a man realize that hes wrong once, to make him repent, itll
do it the second time. So why not keep away from the thing
anyhow. If it made you sick and you got rid of it, stay away
from it. Keep out of the very appearance of evil.

E-21 And we find out that thats the way that it
goes, though, and we just have it. And so we always had it, so
I guess well just continue to have it.
But Id imagine that_that Jehoshaphat thought, Well, Ill
go down and see maybe this new pastor, Jehoram, will be
different. He will be just a little different than what the old
pastor was. But we find out he was a new pastor all right, but
he had the same old system. Hed just added some new things
to it, and had added in some new programs that maybe the old
system didnt have.
And thats what I think we have_did a lot of it today,
friends. We haveÂnd we Pentecostal people, thats a great
deal of what we have did. We have taken the old system and
we try to start a new revival, but the first thing you know, we
turn around and do with the new revival, just take the old
system into it again. And thats what tears the thing up.

E-22 Now, here not long ago, they broke out a thing
when the revival started in the Pentecostal realms, called The
Latter Day Rain. Well, they moved out to different places,
and they said, Were not organized. And they come to find
out, they were organized tighter than the rest of them was.
See, you got the old system back with the_with the new
pastor, and it just dont work. Thats all. And it gets the whole
thing into a confusion. Then youre all tore up.
So thats what happened here. Jehoshaphat went down
to_to take a_a look at this new pastor, Jehoram. And thought
maybe hed look over his system and see what he had. But it
was only a hook to get him hooked into trouble again.
And then with all the glamour and everything he had to
offer him, we find out that he went_they went seven days
without consulting the Lord, without knowing for sure that
God was in their midst.

E-23 Now, thats whats the trouble. We start on
these things, but never stop to find out whether really, its the
ONLY BELIEVE 51
Lord in our midst or not. Or whether its some kind of any
emotion, or some kind of a work-up, or some kind of a foolish
system, or something. We ought to_we ought to solve the
thing out and see if its of God or not.
I think thats where we make our mistakes. Is seven days,
the Church has traveled. And we find out that in seven days
time, just taking it for granted that God was along; thats
what weve done. Just take it for granted. Oh well, well go
join church. Gods in it. Theres no doubt at all.

E-24 Search out and find out whether Gods in it or
not. Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe.
Signs, wonders, miraclesÂnd when we see our churches
cooling down and those things not happening^You have to
wait till you get some special evangelist into town or
something, then beat a few tambourines and work up a little
emotion. God isnt in that. No.
Ill tell you what we need today is a back to the old Bible
again. Back to the old fashion Pentecostal teaching of the
Bible. Back to the Holy Ghost. Back to the power of God.
Back to all night prayer meetings. Where theyre hungering
and thirsting for God. Thats what we need tonight in our
churches, in our_to bring that into our systems.

E-25 They found out then, at seven days journey,
finally brought them to a desert. And we found out the same
thing. Weve had seven church ages. Were living now in the
seven church ages. What have we done when_broke out a
revival? We fixed up a system and made us a little group over
here that, We believe this. And we wont have nothing to do
with this group.
And this group fix them up a little group. They wont have
nothing to do with this group here. And they just start fussing,
stewing, back and forth. And now, we find out in the midst of
all of it, that weve gone about seven days and not having God
in our midst. Thats right.

E-26 Now, the prophet said there would be a day
that it would not be called day or night. It would be kind of a
gloomy, dismal day. Weve had that kind of a day. Weve had a
day for the last two thousand years, where weve had meetings
and accept Jesus as Gods Son, and as our Saviour. And weve
seen God do great things among us. But yet, its been a long
time since the Pentecostal light. Two thousand years we made
organizations, built big schools, and had systems. And find out
here in the seventh church age, we find out weve missed
something. Theres something wrong.
We find out we got into a desert. And all the fruits is dried
up. Thats whats the Pentecostal church has did today. Has
organized itself so tight, till its against one another. Until we
found out that all the fruits is dried up. We dont have no more
love, peace, joy, long-suffering, fellowship, that we ought to
have, like they had at the beginning. The fruits have all dried
up in the deserts.

E-27 Seven days going without finding the real
living God. Weve run off on little isms. God gave Luther
justification; he run off with it. He gave Wesley sanctification;
he run off with it. He left off_Pentecostal people speak in
tongues, and they run off with it. God wants to call us
together in a unity of power to bring back the fullness of the
Holy Ghost into the Church again, with all the spiritual gifts
in operation in every local body.
Yes, seven days without God, led them into a desert. Its
the same thing now. His fruits dried up. I imagine as that_as
they moved out over the hill from the green valleys and things,
they begin to see the_the places kindy drying up.

E-28 You know, everybody wants a hilltop
experience, and they never want to take the valley.
Everybody, the Pentecostal church too. Every night, if youre
not shouting, dancing, jumping up-and-down, speaking in
tongues, and running around over the floor or something
another, you didnt have any kind of a meeting.
Well, you know its all right to be on the mountain top,
thats good. But let me tell you; you_youre fruits will freeze
ONLY BELIEVE 53
up there at night. And when the cold spell comes, youll lose
all your fruit. Thats whats happened now. We put too much
on mountain-top experiences of dancing, and shaking, and
jumping around, instead of all night prayer meetings, down in
the valley of decision. Where you have to come down there
and meet God and really pour out your life until something
takes place.
We have let the_weve growed fruits up there, but the
freeze kills it. Thats right. Every time it comes a little cool
spell, youve got nothing to rest upon. When the emotion or
the_dies down, then the shouts all gone, the noises cease,
then theyre_where you at? The temptation comes along, then
you cant take it.

E-29 What we need is get down to that grinding
place, down there in that valley, dig out. Thats exactly right.
Its where the Church needs to be tonight.
Well, I can imagine they was noticing the green life
beginning to^You say, Green? Yes. We might be green but
we got life anyhow. Thats^Yeah.
Everybody say, Well, that bunch of Pentecostal
preachers, some of them^
I was at a school not long ago, and my son told some
students, he said, Well, Im from the Southwestern Bible
school myself.
Said, If you can read and write, youre better off than
that bunch over there. Oh, my! Well say, Well, theyre the
greenest bunch I ever seen.
Oh, brother. We might be green, but we got_were
flexible. Anything that isnt green will_you pull it a little bit
and you will break it.

E-30 Thats whats the matter today with too many
peoples experiences: too dry and stiff. We need something
flexible so it can_the wind comes down, it can blow it, and
rush it around, and pull it around, and make it grow, get life
into it. Id rather be a little green and be flexible to the Holy
Spirit, so I can give to it instead of standing making a

mournful noise, like a funeral service, when its blowing
across me. Saying, Days of miracles is past. No such a thing
as Divine healing. Thats a funeral service.
Oh, them young trees, though, when theyre flexible and
can give to the Spirit, and the Spirit begin to move them like a
rushing wind, filling them full of Gods goodness. Oh, thats
the kind of a life. It may be a green bunch, but it_yes, its a
bunch thats got life in it. Thats good. And if anything isnt_it
hasnt got life in it, its dead. Thats scientifically known that
its dead.

E-31 Seven days. And it was^Remember, it was on
that seventh day that they recognized what they had done.
And I think weve come down through Luther, Wesley,
and_and Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, and on down like
that; and now its in this last age, that weve just recognized
what weve done. I believe its this time now, that the
Pentecostal church has recognize what its done. The real
Spirit-filled leaders, the real Spirit-filled Christians of the
Pentecostal move, they recognize that somethings happened.
Theyve cooled off.
Because everybody trying to live on the mountain top,
gone off without God. What we need today is get back to God,
get back to the experience, get back. Well, its in the seventh
hour that they recognized that they were out there without
fruit: no love. Fussing one another. Youre Oneness. And
youre Threeness. And_and you belong to Assemblies. And
youre Church of God. And youre this, that or the other. We
wont have nothing to do with you. Calling one another one
bad name and one_the other_bad name.

E-32 And the world turns around and looks and
said, Whats the matter with them people? Both of them
speaking in tongues in this church and prophesying and going
on. This one over here at this church and^They have^They
dont even respect one another. They havent got any decency
for each other.
Oh, what we need today is back to the fruit of the Spirit:
love, joy, peace, faith, long-suffering. God can send a gift

among them and they will call it telepathy. They will call it
the devil. They will call it something else. If one church is
sponsoring it and the other one pick it up, its all right now.
Because this one had something to do with it, its no good. Oh,
my, my.
What a pitiful condition? Yes, sir. We realize that the fruit
of faith, the fruit of love, joy, peace, faith, long-suffering,
goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience^Patience? Why,
they cant bear a few seven days with one another hardly,
seven hours, sometime not even seven minutes. They will jump
up and run out of the church if you say something thats not
just exactly what their little pet theory is. They got to get up
and run out of church over it. Oh, they just cant sit still a
minute. They got to get out of there.
Aw, that aint what Pastor So-and-So says. Hallelujah, I
dont have to listen to no such stuff. Get out. Oh, you
miserableÂll right. There you are. Go ahead^

E-33 But thats it. You see? Theyve lost all the fruit.
We realize that. The fruit of the Spirit is dry, all topped off,
and laying withered away, powdered, ready to blow away. Its
such a condition. We realize now, that our great organizations,
theyre all right, the organization, as long as it keeps God in it,
as long as it has the fruit of the Spirit in it, as long as its
loving and kind and willing to fellowship and help the next
brother. No matter how_what he believes. If hes a brother
and Gods give him the Holy Ghost^God gives those the
Holy Ghost who obeys Him. Thats right.
So if youve got the Holy Ghost, the Methodists has got the
Holy Ghost, and the Baptists has got the Holy Ghost, and the
Presbyterians has got the Holy Ghost, and Oneness has got the
Holy Ghost, and the Church of Gods got the Holy Ghost, well,
what are you fussing about?
Lets get together. Lets move on. Thats_thats what we
need. See, it isnt the organization; its the system in that
organization that pulls away. Thats the devil that does that.

E-34 So we find out that all of our_try to_big
buildings and big building programs and so forth. I imagine

as_as these fellows climbed up over this mountain, these
kings and so forth. Going up, they noticed in their big high
mounting up building programs, they begin to see the fruit
begin to grow smaller and smaller. And after while, there
wasnt any fruit at all.
And I know weve did that. And weve seen that in our
time, as we have moved along through this Pentecostal age.
When we were back down around the corner, or about forty
years ago, no place to go and had a little hole in the wall
somewhere, and a bunch of people laughing and calling them
holy-roller. Why, they were more spiritual then they are now.
Thats right.
The church was in better shape, every one of the
organizations then, than it is now, spiritually speaking, Oh,
sure. We own millions of dollars worth of property. Well, that
dont mean nothing to God. Id rather not have one bit of
clothes, like John, have a sheepskin wrapped around me and
know Jesus Christ. And know that my heart is pure and clean
before Him. Why, certainly. Than have all the riches of the
world.

E-35 But the thing is, the Church has went off
without God. Theyve went off without ha_and they found out
the fruit of the Spirit has left the church. Long-suffering,
some of them with enough temper, why, it would fight a buzz
saw. And then_and talk about the Holy Ghost. See?
Why the fruit of the Spirit is love, and joy, long-suffering.
Suffered? Yes, about_about two minutes. Thats all. And away
they gone. You see. So long-suffering, fruits all dried up.
Our big building programs has mounted up. Thats right.
Our great high educational programs has mounted up. Our
pastors are better educated. Oh, my, my. We just got all kinds
of degrees, and_and it goes a whole lot of degrees in freezing
too, when we get up there. About that time, about forty below
zero, it seems to get. Oh, sir.

E-36 But we_we got all of that. Thats right. As we
see, were mounting up higher, but all the fruit and things is
leaving. All the waters of life seems to be drying up, no more

Eternal Life. Its almost like, as I said the other night, pastors
are so busy and people are so busy swapping members.
Just liking take a corpse from one morgue to another, just
one place to another. That_thats right. Some of them is
frying and the other is freezing. So thats just about the way it
did. And I said getting little isms, which after while
becomes wasms and there we go. You see?
And thats where the church has got, till the fruits of the
Spirit is all drying up everywhere. We see it everywhere. You
know thats the truth. We just might as well come out and say
its the truth. Because it is.

E-37 And we find out that they were dying out there
in the desert. What a horrible condition, where that led them
to, going off without God. Oh, they fetched a seven day
compass. Oh, sure. They got through all right. They can point
back and say, We_were the so-and-so and the so-and-so.
Thats true enough. But wheres God? Thats it. Wheres God
in the thing?
We got bigger churches and big spires up on top of them,
big crosses and plush pews. And we can compare with any of
them, we Pentecostal people can. Money flowing to who_and
the best dressed crowds, and brother, Cadillacs setting around
everywhere. But wheres God? Where is God?
Then when He comes into the midst of it, many of them
say, Aw, dont listen to that now. That_thats nonsense.
Dont_dont pay no attention to that. See? Just dead stumps.
Thats all there is to it. Now, thats right. Fruits dried up and
gone a long time ago. Oh, what a terrible hour were living in.

E-38 And when this time come, the first thing you
know, they run out of water. They didnt have any water. And
they begin to cry, Alas, alas, O God, You been so good to us
to give us these big buildings. But many of them begin to cry,
Where is the Waters of Life?
They see communism moving in. See the world just about
to its end. And prophets prophesying the end is at hand and so

forth, then we wonder, Where is the water at? Whats
happened?
And there happened to be one cried_or a righteous one
cried out, Isnt there a prophet somewhere that we could
visit? Isnt there somewhere, a prophet? The righteous
Jehoshaphat cried out, Isnt there a prophet? Were in a crisis
condition. Isnt there someone somewhere that we could
consult about this?

E-39 Now, if our organizations has got us into the
place we are because weve separated ourself from one
another, seemingly not having the faith, then theres got to be
something somewhere. Now, the righteous are crying out,
Where is that man of God? Where is that person can tell us?
Hes here tonight in the Person of the Holy Ghost.
Hes the One that can tell you what to do. Hes the One
that can prick your hearts. Hes the One that can unfold your
sins. Hes the One can take the doubt out of you, and the hope-
so and make a know-so in you. Hes the One that can do it,
that Person of God called the Holy Ghost. Hes the One thats
present.

E-40 Now, we find out that they all begin to cry out.
And seen that the fruits was all gone. Theyd withered away,
and they was without water. And they_the righteous man of
course, the elected one said, Isnt there somewhere a prophet
that we could consult? Isnt there somebody that we could get
a hold of that knows how to get us out of this situation,
somebody that dont belong to our mix-up here. Weve all
come in here, made an alliance, and we got together up here
on top of the hill. And were going to battle. And you find out
we havent got no_nothing to fight with.
Thats whats the matter with the Church today. We got a
lot of members, all dead. We got a lot of great big
organizations, dead. We got a lot of enthusiasm, but its in the
wrong way; Who can dress the best, and who can get the most
ahead, and who got the best school, can win the most ball
teams, or play the best bunco, or something like that. We want
God, none of those things. Come back to God again.

E-41 Where is at? Isnt there a prophet somewhere
that can tell us what to do? Isnt there somebody we could
consult? Oh, what a condition. That was a cry of the
righteous man. Theres only one of them among them. That
was Jehoshaphat. He was a good man. But he got in wrong
company.
Thats whats the matter tonight. So many good men, lot of
good men, out in all them organizations out there, all down
everywhere, fine men. But were facing a fact. Were facing
something. That where Mohammedanism and Buddhism and
other isms can put out as much psychology as the Christian
church can put out. Thats right.
What we need is not a psychology move, not a theology
move, but we need a Holy Spirit move into the Church, hear
the people cry out, Where is that God that once lived? Where
is that God of Pentecost? Where is that God that takes a
sinners heart and washes it white as snow? Who takes a
prostitute from the street and makes a lady out of it, takes a
drunkard out of the barroom out yonder, and make a preacher
out of him? Where is that God that can move out and take
them crippled legs and straighten them out, make those blind
eyes to see, them deaf ears to hear, make that cancer vanish
away? Where is the God that did that one time? Thats it.

E-42 We found out that theres something wrong.
The other night as I was preaching on the subject of the News
flash, Greatest In History. Old John, his eyes got_prophet
John was kindly filmed over. He was like_he had the spirit of
Elijah. And Elijah had a breakdown when he was under the
juniper tree. John had a breakdown in the prison.
And he was a high pitched prophet. Them nerves on edge.
And then his eagle eye filmed over. He said, Go see if I been
wrong. Ask Him if He is One_or the One? Or do we look for
another? Jesus never sent him any book now, Heres How To
Have Patience While Youre In Jail or so forth. What did He
say? What did He tell him?
He said, Just stay and watch this afternoons meeting
then go show John. The lame walk, the blind see, the^John

had preached a Gospel that a Messiah was coming that would
have_fan in His hand. And would thoroughly purge the floor.
Sure, burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.
But when He come, He was a little meek fellow. Meek and
lowly. JohÎt did_didnt meet up to what John thought it
ought to be. But He said, You go tell John Im running right
on schedule. Its all right. Everythings all right.

E-43 Thats the same thing it is tonight. The Church,
the people of the world has been looking for the Methodist,
Baptist, Presbyterian, or some church to put out something to
bring Christ back. Hes right on time. The lame walk, the
blind see, the deaf hear. Glory! Hes right on schedule. Amen.
Theres nothing wrong. Hes moving right on. God still
lives. Hes still God.

E-44 And this righteous man cried out, Oh, isnt
there a prophet somewhere that we could consult. Now,
theres one good brother among them. And I can hear him say,
Yes, yes. I_I know such a man. I_I know such a man.
And I can just see him look around to Jehoram and say,
Now, youre not going to believe him. I just know that right
now. Youre not going to believe this fellow. Because your
father didnt believe him. (He certainly didnt.)
And your father had that school up there on the hill with
that bunch of prophets up there, or so called. And they didnt
believe him. Why, they said theÂnd this man that I know,
the Spirit of his father is upon him. He does the same thing his
father does. He did the same thing that Elijah done. And the
spirit of Elijah rests upon Elisha. And Ive been to his
meetings, and I know its the truth. Amen. God help us.
Thats what we want: meetings like that, where we see the
Spirit of our Father, Jesus Christ, which was the_Elijah was a
type. See, the Spirit^He that believeth in Me, the works
that I do shall he do also. Oh, brother. Thats the One.

E-45 This good brother said, I know where this
man is. I_Ive seen the spirit of Elijah upon him. He poured
water on his hands. He lived with him. And I know that the
spirit of Elijah does rest upon Elisha. I know. Jehoram, said,
you couldnt believe that. And all your school of prophets
back there wouldnt believe it either, your theological
seminary. Because Ill tell you for why? Heres the reason.
When Elisha came back and told them that Elijah had been
took, and he had a double portion of it, why, they said, The
man has lost his mind. Get a hunting party of about fifty and
find out where^He_he_he never raised up. Hes still out
there somewhere.
And they_weve tried all our ecclesiastical systems. Oh,
dont get angry with me. But let me tell you, these
ecclesiastical systems has took more than two thousand years
to try to find the lifted up Lord Jesus through educational
programs, through theology, through church organizations,
and have failed to find Him. Amen.
He doesnt come through man-made theology. He doesnt
come through organizations. He comes through a surrendered
heart, by the baptism of the Holy Ghost to our heart. Amen.

E-46 Our man-made systems dont find Him. Oh,
they organize parties and went out and hunted for him. Said,
Oh, no. The Spirit never lifted that man up. Now, be sensible
men. You know weve all got our bachelor of art and so forth.
So we_we know better than a thing like that. A_a man that
set up here, and eat corn bread with us, and so forth. Why, we
know that that man couldnt have been lifted up in a chariot
of fire. The boys got all worked up now. Hes been across
there. And hes come back with a lot of fanaticism. So we_we
know better than that. So just set the old fellow down.
His_his bald head got too hot, you know, and so he^Lets
just thin him off a little bit. You all go over there and find out
whats taken place over there. Search_send some parties.
Said, Go on. But youll not find him.
Make fun of me. Call me a idiot if you want to. But God
has^Youll never find Him in your organizational systems.
No, sir. He was lifted up. And He comes again in the form of
the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and youll never educate

people to it. Theyve got to be borned into it, got to be the
baptism of the Holy Spirit, nothing short.
Not a mentally work-up, some emotional, or ecclesiastical
system, or sign, but its got to be the real genuine Holy Spirit
that brings the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, faith, long-
suffering, goodness, meekness, patience. Thats it. Thats the
thing. Yes.

E-47 Sure Jehoram couldnt do it. He wouldnt
believe it. He_you see, they couldnt believe it. The school
said, Now, wait a minute here. Now, we know this fellows
kindly all het up, so we will let him set around, and we will
get our groups together and we will go out and pick him up
again. He is out there somewhere.
And thats what weve tried to do for two thousand years.
And Pentecostal people, youre doing the same thing, trying to
pick Him up by organization. Youll never do it, separating
yourself from other brothers. Youve got to come back, and we
got to be one. I dont care if the mans wrong. If hes wrong
and sincere in his heart and youre right in your belief
and_and youre wrong in the_acting the way youre acting.
Id rather be in his place than be in yours. Thats right.
Id rather be wrong in my doctrine and right in my heart.
God will respect it more. So if a man is wrong, what of it?
Help him. He needs help. Love him. If you cant love your
enemy the same as you love those who love you, youre no
better off than the publicans. Thats right. Thats what the
Church has failed to get. I hope you get it tonight. I hope you
see what Im talking about.

E-48 Its back to love, redeeming love. All the other
things are fine, but we got to come back to fellowship with
one another. And people said I fight organizations. I do not. I
fight that system in there thats breaking up brotherhood. Ive
always done it. And I always will do it. Thats right.
That thing that separates brotherhood^Let us come
together. Lets be brothers. If I could see every church in this
city, every church in the world come like we was the other
morning (that ministerial breakfast), when I seen the Oneness,

Twoness, Threeness and all, hugging one another, their arms
around one another, Id say, like Simeon of old, Lord, let Thy
servant depart in peace, for my eyes have seen Thy salvation.
Thats right.
You can get it broke down in a little community. And then
the first thing you know, the devil will get back in there,
break it up again. Then you can^But all over its_you cant
do it. It will be done someday. God will send a_a punishment
to them and they will have to.

E-49 So Bishop Jehoram, he just would not believe
that. He knew he couldnt believe it, cause his fathers didnt
believe it. Didnt believe that Elijah was taken up. So how is
he going to believe this? Through vain theology, theyd search.
Now, were a school of prophets. We got it all fixed up.
We know just exactly what he ought to do. We know just how
he ought to do. We know how he ought to behave himself. We
know that the only thing you have to do is come in and say,
I_I believe. And all shake hands. And well sprinkle this way
or baptize this a way. Or back this way or out that way
or^(Oh, my.) And we got it. Now, thats just the way he
does.
And you go ahead and you baptize this way and baptize
that way, and sprinkle this way and sprinkle that way, and
take communion this way and that way, and you still find out
you got no God. You got a form of a rituals. Thats all. God is
a Spirit. And they that worship Him must worship in Spirit
and in truth. Amen.
God send us prophets back to tear up the thing. And to
bring out the truth that will show it. Vain theology. Oh, my.

E-50 Now, we find out that he said, Yes, I know
where this certain person is.
Well, just go down and^ That^wellÔf course,
some of them mightve wondered about it. But_but you notice
here, that Jehoshaphat, that true elected servant of God, said,
The Spirit of God is upon him. Yes, sir.

spirit of Elijah was resting upon another man, and this man
was doing the same thing that Elijah did, he knowed that was
a real prophet. And he knowed if the real spirit of Elijah was
upon another man, hed do the same thing that the Elijah

And let me tell you my brethren, let me tell you my
friends, when the Spirit of Jesus Christ comes upon the
Church, the Church will do the same thing Jesus Christ did.
It_it_itll^The works that I do shall you also. And He
proved it, He said they would. If they do not, well then, theres
something wrong somewhere. They just make God to lie. If
they say theyre a believers and_and these things doesnt take
place. And He said let every mans word be a lie and His be

spirit of that real true prophet rests upon him. And then as
soon as this elected one, representing the elected Church of
today, Gods elected for this last day. He said, Then well go
hear him because the Spirit of God is upon him. Oh, I like

Long as we see them things that Elijah done is upon this
man, we will go hear him.
This good brother said, Well, Ive went out a many a
night and Ive heard him. And I know this is the truth. So we
will just go over and call on him.

prophetÔh, my, what a_what a rile he got into. This might
kindly hurt his sanctification a little, but he really got all

boiled up. He said to Jehoram, he said, Why dont you go on
over to your own prophets? (My.) Why dont you go to your
mammys prophet? Why dont you go over to your daddys
prophets? Go on over to your formals now, and join them if
you want to. Youre in trouble. Why dont you go on over to
them?
Oh, nay, nay. He said, But the Lords brought us out
here. Said, Were going to_were going to_were going to
die. Were going to get killed in that^
Youre not only going to die, theyre already dead. All the
fruits dried up, and all the Spirit gone out of the church. Its
already just become a_a religious organization. Thats right.
Theres something wrong. If we cant get God back in the
church somewhere, what we going to do? Then were all going
to perish.
And when this prophet, after he got through bawling him
out, he said, If it wasnt that I respected the presence of
Jehoshaphat (that elected man) I wouldnt even look at you.
Oh.

E-54 I think thats what God would say tonight. If it
wasnt^You people thats bound yourselves off with these
different organizations and fussing at one another, if it wasnt
that God had respects for the people who did believe in Him,
there never would been an Oral Roberts or anything sent
across the country. Thered never been no signs and wonders.
He wouldnt even look at us if it wasntÂll of us are guilty.
If it wasnt for the electeds sake. If it wasnt for the Church
sake, the ones who really believe God, He wouldnt even look
at us. Thats right.
But because there is a people that wants to believe, Gods
got a messenger for them. Amen. The Holy Ghost had been
grieved away and gone a long time ago.

E-55 This old prophet really got his righteous
indignation stirred up, and he bawled them out. And he told
them about all these alliances and organizations they were
having. He said, Nevertheless, said, bring me a minstrel.

Oh, he had to get his temper down a little, you know. Hed got
all het up. And so he said, Bring me a minstrel.
Now, what about some of you Church of Christ people, so-
called, that dont believe in music in the church? After he got
all het up, he needed a little music to bring the Spirit on him.
Thats right. Yes, sir. In a^Now remember, God doesnt
change. And if the good music brought the Spirit on the
prophet then, itll do the same thing today. Thats exactly
right. Cause God loves it.
Sure. He said, Bring me a minstrel. Well, you say, Well,
yeah. I aint the prophet. But maybe you can be part of the
minstrel, you know. You_you can do something towards it.
Thats all. You_you got a testimony or something you can do.

E-56 And I can see them bring out the minstrel and
play All Things Are Possible, Only Believe. And get the
Spirit back started again. Only Believe, Only Believe, All
Things Are Possible. Had to play a little bit before the Spirit
come on the prophet. Then when the prophet come on, he
saw_when the Spirit come on the prophet rather, he saw a
vision.
Now, thats the way. See, he could not do it^The
intellectual, elected, great bunch of the_the high-ups, the
kings and potentates, on the intellectual educational side,
could not see the vision. Thats right. They were blind.
Thats the reason tonight. They want to call the vision of
God a mental condition, a telepathy, a spirit of the devil or
something. Its because theyre so intellectual, they know
nothing about God. Thats right.
It was a vision that told the truth. That was Gods
program. That was Gods way. Because the Spirit of the Lord
was upon the prophet. And the Word of the Lord come to the
prophet. Yes, sir.
And it come how? Through a vision. Yes, sir. It come
through a vision, not through intellectual. It had failed. And
the same its done now.

E-57 And he took a_and looked and he saw a vision.
He thought, Well now, this is it. The Spirit of the
message^Now, what did he see? Now, did he just say, Oh,
Jehoram. You need another degree. And I tell you,
Jehoshaphat, youve got in a little trouble (See?), you ought to
go away and study a while longer; because I tell you, you just
dont know how to_to do these things. That_dont know how
to lead an army or something. It wasnt that. He didnt do
that.
He said, I tell you what you ought to do. You ought to
polish up your men. Theyre not wearing the right kind of
uniforms. Thats what it is. You ought to make all your clergy
col_turn their collar around, so they look like a clergyman.
You see?
Oh, itll be in Pentecost pretty soon. Yes, itll soon_right in
it. It ha^The Catholic church was the first Pentecostal
church remember. Thats exactly right. Now, you_some of you
historians deny that. And give Pentecost another hundred and
fifty years, itll be farther away than the Pentecostal church is,
at the rate its going now. Thats right.
Oh, yes. The Catholic church begin at Pentecost. Then they
organized it and got the big societies in there that wanted to
make this and that. And the Nicolaitane conquer the laity and
took the_and took the power away from the laity out there.
And the Holy Ghost cant come out there. It has to all be on
here, what one fellow says, thats all of it. The Holy Ghost
dwells in the whole body of Christ^[Blank spot on

E-58 The Holy Spirit run the Church, why, they got
the fruits all dried up. And you see where its at now. Well,
Pentecostal hit the same trail. Right down the same way. So
there it is.
Now, we find out when the Spirit come on^What was
the vision of the_the Spirit gave to the prophet? What did he
say? He didnt say, Now, take all your soldiers out and school
them over again, that when they go to get up on the mountain
top, they will know more about what to do. Teach them some
more theology. They ought to polish up a little bit. They ought

to carry a longer knife or something like that. Or they ought to
wear a different uniform. No, he didnt say that.
He said, Get to digging. Get out here in this desert. Your
people once before crossed this desert, and they wanted a_a
theology on Mount Sinai. God gave it to them after grace had
done give them a_a prophet, and a_and a Pillar of Fire and
everything. But they wanted something they had to fuss about.
So He let them stay out there in the wilderness till the old
fighters all died out.

E-59 He said, They was out there one time
perishing in the same way that you are. Now theres channels
out there. There is plenty of channels where that Rock still
lays in the wilderness yonder. But said, You got to dig out a
lot of stuff.
Thats the vision tonight brother. It aint start a new
organization. Just dig out whats in it. Thats right. The first
thing that old rotten log of organization, throw it out of the
channel. The channels of Gods blessings is all stopped up
tonight. Organization logs laying in them.
Then another logs laying out there called_called the No
such a thing as the Holy Spirit. If you dig down and strike
that log, throw it out. Theres no such a thing as the baptism
of the Holy Ghost, thats just for the disciples only. Dig it
out. The Holy Ghost was just for the apostles.
Dr. Simon Peter said, on the day of Pentecost, Its for
you, and for your children, or them thats far off, even as many
as the Lord our God shall call.

E-60 Great fine Pentecostal brother told me, not
long ago, said, We dont need any more Divine healing. I
wouldnt even let it be practiced in my church. He said, We
got fine doctors and things today, takes the place of that.
Mmm, mmm, mmm. See what_see what kind of an old log gets
in there? What does it do? It stops the flow of the water.
Elishas vision showed him that out there in that
wilderness, right where the fruits was dried up. Dont start a
new organization, another rain or something. Just clean out

the channels where the first rain can flow. The waters there.
Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And that
smitten Rock was in the wilderness. And its still there
tonight. Thank God.
Jesus cleaned it out for them again at Calvary. But they
come right back around, throwed the logs back in again,
blocked off all^

E-61 You know what it does to throw a log in a
channel, what does it. Well then, all kinds of dirt hits against
this log and washes up. And first thing you know, you got all
the water backed up, like the beavers do, and make a dam,
and you got nothing to go through it. Thats right.
We got too many beaver preachers today, trying to dam all
the water up, and say, This is ours. This is just us here. This
belongs to us. And what happens to it? It becomes stagnated.
Thats whats the matter with a lot of our organizations, trying
to back up the water for your organization only. Its got
stagnated.
You know stagnated water gets these little wiggletails in
it. Thats whats the matter with the Church today: a little
wiggle in here and wiggle out there. Everything^Days of
miracles is past. No such a thing as Divine healing. Cant sit
still five minutes in a meeting. Oh, my goodness. Stagnated
water, beaver dam, blow it out. Amen. There is a fountain
filled with Blood, drawn from Immanuels veins. Where
sinners plunged beneath the flood, lose all their guilty stains.

E-62 Prophet said, Get down there and dig all them
logs out.
Well, I tell you then, prophet, should we go back and
have another mighty rushing wind?
Nope.
Shall we start another latter rain?
Nope, nope. Just clean out the channel. Thats all you
have to do.
We got the people, just clean out the channel. The peoples
all right. Get the channels cleaned out so the Holy Spirit can

thats in the church, clean the thing out. The Rocks already
smitten, the waters are fresh, running, but our ecclesiastical
systems has dammed up the stream.
He said, Clean those things out. You wont have to have
another rushing wind. You wont hear neither wind nor see
any rain, but yet therell be water there. Oh, brother. Not a
new system, not a new system we need. What we need is clean
out the system we got. Not make another Assemblies of God or
another Oneness, but just clean out the Oneness and
Assemblies we got.
Get all the logs out of it. All the differences, the fussing,
and stewing, and things like that away from them, the waters
will go to flowing back again. Therell be love, joy, joy like a
river, just flowing all over everybody, just in love with one
another. We are not divided, all one body we. One in hope
and doctrine, one in charity. Thats it. See?

Thats the vision of today. That was the_that was that
prophets vision. A true prophets got the same vision today.
Not a new_not a new organization, start up something and
make another group, youd just fuss it out and organize it and
get it just like the rest of it. Youd throw logs in it also.
I first started out in the ministry, many of them come to
me, and said, Well, Brother Branham, you ought to start a
little organization.
I said, Organization? We_were_thats what Im
against. I said, What we need is not an organization, but
clean up the thing we have got. Thats right. Clean it up. We
need a revival, what we need, a digging time. Dig, dig, the
deeper you dig, the more water youre going to get. If you dig
down and say, Well, Ill just come out of the

what we need.
Get down here and get a hold of the water. What we need
tonight is the water of God. The vision absolutely interpreted
Gods will to that dying perishing people. The vision tonight

out, not start a new organization, start a revival in the
organization. Start a new meeting, start letting God come in.
Dig out all your old fault finding, and back biting, and stiff
necks, and all these superstitions, and unbelief. Throw the

die. All you Chicago Methodists, get digging, Chicago

there saying, I heard the vision of the Lord. The prophet told
the truth. Im going to dig out this thing. Hit an old log there.

Get it out of there. You owe God a tenth. Dig her out. Throw it
out on one side.
Directly, he hit another little log. Whats that? Well
now, dont you get off on the deep end. Pull that thing out

Yes, sir. Throw the thing out. More deeper you dig, the more
water you will find. Just keep digging in the storehouse of
God, throwing the thing out till you get for you can fill up
with real waters of Life.

The waters came and they didnt know where it come from. It
was there all the time. They just clogged it up. Theres power
in the Church. I can tell you, and Ill tell any minister, I can
show you where God gave the Church power to heal the sick,
cast out devils, and all these things to do. And now you come
put your finger on the Scripture where Jesus said, Now, I
take it back away from the Church now.
Well then, whats happened? Whats the matter? Youve got
it clogged up. Your own self-made idea of it has clogged it up.
I can tell you where Jesus promised in this last day, and show
you that these signs that you see done, that the Spirit of God
would come into the church and sow visions and so forth like
that, as He is doing. And you_you try to disprove it one time
and find out where youre at.

with too much ecclesiastical systems in you. Its all clogged
up. Dig the thing out, and throw it away, and let the waters go
to running.
About time it begin to break day, oh, brother, the waters is
flowing freely, coming from that smitten Rock that still was
out there in the wilderness. Hes the same yesterday, today,
and forever. Only thing you have to do is get all the old logs
out of the way. Get all of the old unbelief out of the way. Pick
up that unbelief and throw it away.
Say, Well now, listen. Jesus promised it. And I dont care
what anybody says, I believe it. Thats it. Take the log and
throw it out. Say, God promised it. I see it right here before
me. Ive always made fun of it. I thought it was wrong. But
now Im going to believe it. So Im going to get this old log and
throw it out. And as soon as you get that log out of the way,
the sweet waters of peace of God will go to flowing. Like a
river, itll flow through you.

healing^ Heres what I find people^healing. When God
come here and prove Hisself to be right here among
you^You know what it is? Youre reaching out_youre
trying to apply faith with a orchid. Faith was applied by

You try to work up a faith. You cant work up a faith.
Faith is so common; its the same faith you go get a drink of
water with. Same faith you_you drive your automobile with.
See, its just common. You^Well hyssop, you can find it
growing on the ground, out of the cracks of the buildings,
anywhere. And when they applied the blood with hyssop, was
applying faith.

look all around and say, If I could just find an orchid to

Well, I tell you what, I made fun of them people called
Pentecostals. Raise up and say, Im sorry I done it. Thats
right. Say, Lord, You know my heart. People, you forgive
me. And youll feel that old log go out. Some more water will
go to pouring in (Oh, my.), just go to rolling in.
The first thing you know, say, I always thought them
visions was of the devil. But I see now theyre of God. All
right. Then that old log will go away. Then the waters will
start pouring again. Thats right. Just get everything out of the
ditch. The waters there. You believe it?
The Bible said, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today,
and forever. So Hes still that smitten Rock. Hes still got the
Life, still got the water. Hes got the healing power. You say,
Brother Branham, will Jesus heal me? Hes already got it.

Get all that stuff out of the way. Old dead horses and

the water. And the water aint going to be polluted, so you just
get your own pollution out, of unbelief, and God will pour the
water in.
Its already there. Only thing you have to do is just move
the cause, the cure is already performed. Gods already healed
you. You just have to get your unbelief out of the way. Thats
the vision. I say that in the Name of the Lord, the same as
Elisha said it that day, THUS SAITH THE LORD, get your
unbelief out of the way. Watch what will take place.
Get your systems out of the way, watch what a revival will
strike Chicago. Watch what a revival will strike the world, if
we get our systems out of the way. Get our own ideas out of
the way and let^The Spirits already_the Rocks already
smitten. The only thing we have to do is just get the things out
of the way and let it flow.
You want to see people healed? You want to get healed
yourself? Just get all of the doubt out of the way. And then see
what takes place. It will flow like a river.

really get in the Spirit of revival, not whooping it up or
something, but by praying it down, until theres a revival

comes falling down upon you. There you are.
Then your testimony, then you wont be smoking cigarettes
behind the house, and out here tonight, jumping around the
church, and saying you got the Holy Ghost. Youre a sounding

women bobbing off their hair, and painting their lips, and

church, with four or five different wives and things like that,
say, Im Pentecostal. Oh. The worlds got better sense than
that. Theyre smarter than that. Yes, sir. Oh, my.
Get out here and bet on horse races and everything else.
And then call yourselfÂnd a lot of you would stay home
and listen to a television before go to a prayer meeting. And
say, Im Pentecostal. Ho, ho. Youre just named Pentecostal.
You havent got the experience of Pentecost. The Church is the
first thing in your heart, brother. Thats all in all, is God, God.
Its all you can see and know about, is God.
Thats the group thats so called Pentecostal and said,
Aw, now that stuffs nonsense. Dont you believe that. See?
But the vision of the Lord comes by the Word of the Lord. Dig
all that out. Dig all that unbelief out so the waters of Life can
flow in freely, and will stop all this here saying, The days of
miracles is past. Let the Church really get back.

you strike the rock bottom. Let a Pentecostal experience

real man of God. Youre a real woman of God.
When youre sealed by the Holy Ghost, the seals on both

But you throw that thing aside and get into the vision and
see Jesus coming and the church a perishing here, and get into
the vision, and dig right down, brother, Im telling you,
something will happen to you then. Youll get in the Spirit of

at the tabernacle, not long ago. And that woman was way out
like this. She couldnt even walk, with tumor. Men had to
pack her and set her on the steps. I wasnt praying for the sick
that night, and she grabbed me around by the trouser leg, I
believe it was, going out. And it turned around with THUS
SAITH THE LORD.
And that woman was here the other night, just as flat and
normal as she can be. See? And allÔh, my. We dont
tryÎ_I dont advertise it out, and things, and go on like
that. Because many times Jesus said^
I think whats the matter today, were making Divine
healing too much of a glamour. See? Its not a glamour. Thats
the reason Ive told you, and I believe with all my heart,

Bible scene. Jesus in the sev_4th chapter of Saint John, came
to a woman at the well, called the Sa_a woman of Samaria.
All of us are acquainted with that story. And how did He
make Hisself known to her as the Messiah? What did He do?
He said_the woman said to Him, said^He said to the
woman, Bring Me a drink. He was contacting her spirit.
She said, The water_wells deep and You have nothing to
draw with. And she said^They got talking about religion
then. She wanted to talk about religion. We worship in this
mountain. You say at Jerusalem^Cause^ Said, We_we
oughtnt to be associating together, because Youre a Jew and
Im a_a Samaritan.
And He said, Woman, go, get your husband and come
here.
She said, I dont have any husband.
Said, Youve said right. Youve had five, and the one
youre living with now is not your husband.

that day? Now, when I say ministry, Im not referring to these
kind of ministers. Thems brothers, heart in heart with me. I

mean the ministry that makes fun of this, and says theres
nothing to it. Not the organizations that back me up. Thems
got_thats got system of God in it. But its these that
dont_that deny this thing, is what Im talking about. See?
The denial of it^
The one says, Theres nothing to it. Its of the devil.
Thats the same way they did back there.
But that little old prostitute woman, she said, Sir, I
perceive that You are a Prophet. Now, we know_were
taught_we know that when the Messiah cometh, He will tell
us these things. Now, how many know thats true? Thats
right.
He said, Im He that speaks with you. And she ran into
the city and said^Come told_told them men, said, Come,
see a Man Whos told me the things that_that Ive done. Isnt
that the very Messiah? And the Bible said the whole city
believed on Jesus. He never did it again. He just did it that one
time. Because the woman, that prostitute woman told them
that Jesus told her that she was living with the wrong man.
And the whole city believed that He was the Messiah. Because
that was the sign of the Messiah.

E-96 Now, if you think a theology is the sign of
Messiah. And_and thats a_and thats a greater sign than
this^Jesus said, The works that I do, shall you do also.
And you say preaching the Gospel is a greater works. All
right, then you come here and do the lesser works.
Heres the platform. Help yourself. Come up here and go
down through this prayer line and let the Holy Spirit move out
in the audience there, over you. Let me see you do them works
and then go preach the Gospel. Then you do do a greater
works.
Jesus could not preach the baptism of the Holy Ghost,
cause It had not yet come. Thats a greater works. It certainly
is. The Church is to preach the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said It was coming, but the Church has it, and saying,
We got it. And its for you. See? So that was a greater, that
is true.

Now, heres a woman thats a stranger to me. Were
strangers to one another? Now, so that the audience can
understand. Now, watch the lady. I do not know you. We are

be so, raise up your hand.
Now, here a man and a woman meets again. I have no
more idea what, who that woman is, or what shes there for, or
than no more than nothing. Shes a total stranger. Now, I
might stand here and say^Like, we have a lot of psychology,
saying, The Lord tells me somebodys got a back trouble.
Sure. Lot of them out there has got back trouble. Got nerve
trouble. Sure. Big bunch of them. See?
Who is it? Where is at? Where did it come from? What
caused it? Whats going to happen to it? Thats the next thing.

E-98 If Id bring this woman up here, say, The Lord
sent me to pray for the sick. Let me lay hands on you, anoint
you with oil. Glory to God. Youre going to be healed. Shes
got a right to believe that. Thats true. But she could doubt it,
of my experience, of whether Im telling her the truth or not.
She might doubt that.
But when the Holy Spirit comes and speaks through my
lips and tell her something she has been. That takes the kink
out of it right there. See? Cause she knows I dont know her.
And we both raised our hands to God, we dont know one
another. Now, theres the Gospel.
If that aint the Gospel Christ had, if that wasnt^Do
you say, Brother Branham, you say youre the Messiah?
Now, if you think that, it shows you havent got no spiritual
discernment. See? How could I be a Messiah? Im William
Branham, a sinner saved by grace. Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
But His Spirit is alive in us, the Holy Spirit.

it, this thing that makes these people cry, and shout, and

If one comes among you and you all speak with tongues,

the secrets of the heart, and then they will fall down saying,

the Church.

what youre there for, something you have done, something
that you ought to do, or something_some sin thats in your
life, or_or some blessing thats in there, rr something another
that you know whether its truth or not, youll know whether
thats right or not. Will you believe with all your heart then

It has to be some kind of a spiritual power, cause we dont
know one another. Would you believe that it was_was the
Messiah? not me but be His Spirit speaking through me as He

The woman seems to have a good spirit, a believing spirit.

Now, if God will tell me what your trouble is, will you
believe me to be His servant? One thing, you got trouble in
your side. Its a_kind of a rupture, hernia in the side. Thats

a great thing to seek for. If God knows the name of man, He
knows the name of a woman too. Dont you believe so? If I
would tell you who you are by the Holy Spirit, would you
believe then youre going to receive the Holy Spirit and Gods

Christ is going to give you the baptism.
The Bible said in the last days_Jesus said that the_the
Spirit would come in the last days to do this, would be the
same Spirit was on that human flesh that stood with His back

Would you like to go Calvary with me for a blood
transfusion and get rid of the diabetes? Go do it.
That lady setting right back there with diabetes can do the
same thing, if you just believe it, sister. Go, believe with all
your heart.
When I said stomach trouble awhile ago, that was yours
too. So you just go on; eat your supper. And be made well.
All right. Great big strong looking woman like that, yet
afflicted with nerves. Thats the hardest thing in the world.
Youre free now. Jesus Christ makes you well. Go, believe with
all your heart.

condition is going to leave you, and youre going to be all
right, and go home and be well? Just keep walking, saying,

This ministry is a type of the Elijah that was taken up. And

I doubt whether that man and woman know each other or
not, very doubtful. Did_did the woman that spoke in tongues,
do you know the man that interpreted it? If you do not, raise
up your hand. If you do not know the man^The one that
interpreted, if you dont know the woman, raise up your hand?

around with the message and bring it right around for a
confirmation. Where Jesus is here, knows the secrets of the
heart. Speak down in another gift like that, a local gift
through a prophetic gift, through a local gift, through His

Lay hands on one another. Thats all you have to do.
Touch if youre anointed. And the Holy Ghost will give it to
you.
O God, in the Name of Jesus Christ, saturate this building
with Your Spirit. Throw every chunk out. Throw every old log
out and may the God of heaven fill with the Holy Ghost and
set this Church afire. Get in the Spirit of this meeting and
every one of you be healed in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Thats it. Hallelujah. Do you believe it? Are you in the
Spirit of receiving it? This is it. Get everything out of the way.
If you believe it with all your heart, rise up on your feet and
accept it in the Name of Jesus. There you are. Raise your
