WARRANTY

The actuators offered remain under warranty for a period of 18 months from dispatch, or 12 months from
commissioning, whichever comes first. If a Rotork Service Engineer performs commissioning during the
warranty period, warranty can be extended for a further 12 months from the commissioning date.
EC DIRECTIVES AND CE MARKING: CE marking will be provided on the Instruction manuals for the actuators
offered to show conformance to the essential protection requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC
amended by 93/68/EEC and conformance to the requirements of the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC amended by
92/31/EEC. A declaration of conformity in accordance with these Directives will be issued with each actuator.
Electric actuators are considered not to be machines within the definition of the EC Machinery Directive
89/392/EEC as amended by 91/368/EEC and 93/44/EEC. However, a Declaration of Incorporation will be
issued with each actuator.
ACTUATOR AND ACTUATOR/GEARBOX COMBINATION SIZING
Please note, when sizing thrust bearing multi-turn actuators or actuator gearbox combinations, where possible
and based on supplied data, Rotork have taken into account the 'resultant thrust' to ensure that the thrust rating
of the selected actuator or combination exceeds that of the thrust forces generated.
Resultant thrust is a calculated value corresponding to the thrust generated at the rated torque of selected
combinations using a stem conversion factor derived from the valve required torque and thrust.
If Rotork have not been supplied with valve thrust data, resultant thrust cannot be calculated.
In all cases, it is the customer's and/or valve manufacturer's responsibility to check the thrust rating of the
selected unit is sufficient for the potential generated thrust forces and that the valve structure including
adaption and fixings can safely withstand the potential thrust forces.
Multi-turn actuator stall torque will be between 1.4 and 2.0 times rated torque dependent on actuator size,
speed, electrical supply type and voltage variation.
Prices listed include for actuator and gearbox combinations where applicable but do not include for any
adaptation required for mounting to the valve. (Please note the gearbox drive bush will be supplied blank.)
Details of the Output flange options are shown in Rotork Gears standard catalogue, of which we trust you have
a copy.
ACTUATOR / GEARBOX COMBINATION:
The actuator drive bush is supplied blank for you to machine to suit your valve stem or gearbox input shaft.
Note, however, that prices listed do not include for any adaptation required mounting to valve. All internal
bearings and output drive bearings for Rotork electric actuators are lubricated for life, sealed and maintenance
free.

IQ conduit entries: 1 x 3/4" NPT and 2 x 1/2" NPT entries.
CONDUIT ENTRIES
IQ actuators will be supplied with the following paint specification:
After machining, all castings are cleaned by dipping into an acid etch solution and then subsequently rinsed in
a cold water rinse & de-ionised water rinse. Aluminium castings are then dipped in Gardobond X4707 to
provide all surfaces with a high corrosion resistance combined with excellent paint bonding properties. Cast
Iron and steel components are immersed into a zinc phosphate solution for approximately 10 minutes and then
cold water rinsed. All castings are then preheated to 100C for approximately 10 to 15 minutes to remove all
moisture prior to powder coating. The polyester powder coating is applied by electrostatic means to a nominal
thickness of 75 microns. All castings are then cured at 200C (Core temperature) for approximately 20 minutes.
Finished top coat colour RAL9005 (black) & 00-A-05 (grey).
This paint finish has passed an accelerated salt spray test for 1000 hours. Details are available on request.
