PERSONNEL:

This week staff completed and worked on
several departmental performance
evaluations.

Detective Holman was out of the office for
several days this week testifying at a trial in
Bowman County, North Dakota. Scott was
subpoenaed for his involvement and
assistance stemming around their
investigation which had ties to our area. The
State of North Dakota is covering expenses
incurred.

PATROL/DETECTIVES:

Officers have been busy providing extra
patrol around the different road construction
projects throughout our city. As expected,
they have brought challenges with traffic
flow and congestion.

On Monday morning Minnesota Power
reported that over the weekend someone cut
and stole copper wire from the substation in
Scanlon. The investigation remains ongoing.

In addition, the Savanna Pallet Company
reported Monday that sometime within the
previous 48 hours their building was entered
and several items were taken, including
hand tools, power tools and welding
equipment valued over $5,000.00.

Detectives are currently investigating and
are asking the public for assistance in
identifying a suspect(s). Anyone with
information is encouraged to contact the
Cloquet Police Department at (218) 879-
1247. Tips also can be sent to the Cloquet
Police Department by texting
"cloquetpd" to 888777 or clicking on
the "Submit a tip" link on the Cloquet
Police Department Facebook page.

Thursday our department, along with
the Carlton County Sherriff's
Department and Minnesota State
Patrol, provided an escort out of the
City for our National Guard unit. The
Guard has been activated to the
International Falls area to help with the
flooding.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

On Monday officers from the
department conducted a bicycle safety
presentation for approximately 60
students at Zion Lutheran Church.
They provided safety booklets and tips
to children of all ages and encouraged
them to always wear their helmets.
