Holstein 4006, Clemson Atlantic Hayle, is one of the best looking Holsteins on
Clemsons LaMaster Dairy farm. She excels in dairy strength and mammary system,
and it would be most beneficial to breed her to a bull that complements her strengths to
produce a calf with a long lifespan with high production. Seimers Shottle Hulk fits this
description, and stood out as being the best bull to breed her to. His sire, Picston
Shottle, as well as his maternal great grandsire, Regancrest Elton Durham, are both
well known for their improvements to the Holstein breed and are popular bulls in the
market. In addition to his strong family lines, Hulk was chosen for his milk PTA (+1,274)
and his very high type PTA (+2.97).
4006 is a strong milker, with an estimated 2620 pounds of milk, 85 pounds of fat,
and 61 pounds of protein above breed average. She is in her first lactation, so this will
ideally increase as she matures. Hulk has an estimated milk PTA of +1,274 pounds, fat
PTA of +33 pounds, and protein PTA of +23 pounds. Combining 4006s milking
numbers with his PTAs will ensure the heifer calf will be a productive asset to the herd
once she begins lactation. Additionally, with a high estimated milk potential, it is
important that the offspring has strong mammary system attachments to support the
udder, as well as a well built udder overall. 4006 has sturdy fore and rear udder
attatchments, as well as a capacious and balanced udder. Hulk is one of the top bulls
for passing mammary strength to his daughters, with a high udder composite score of
+2.33. This score combined with 4006s strong mammary system will produce a heifer
that will have the superior udder to support the high estimated production numbers.

Hulk excels at improving the type of his daughters, and his PTAT of +2.97
reflects this. Not only does he produce daughters with excellent mammary systems,
they walk on well built feet and legs. Hulks feet and leg composite score of +2.68 is
important to any farmer, for cows with correct feet and legs means they will live longer,
more productive lives. 4006 has a correct leg set and sturdy feet, and together they will
produce a calf with conformationally correct feet and legs to carry her through years of
solid production. Additionally, Hulks dairy composite score of +2.30, and body
composite score of +2.29 reflect the exceptionally built daughters he has produced.
4006 shows dairy strength in the depth, width, and openness of her barrel. The resulting
calf from this pair will be perfect for anyone looking to enter the show ring.
Clemson Atlantic Hayle and Seimers Shottle Hulk will produce excellent, well
built, high producing daughters. With sturdy feet and legs to ensure a long life in the
herd, and a strong mammary system to support high estimated production values, this
is a match made for each other. The resulting calf will be a valuable asset to any person
who wishes to increase production and type of their herd.
