James 4

1What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you?

Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?
2You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot
obtain; so you fight and quarrel.
You do not have because you do not ask.
3You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives,
so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is
hostility toward God?
Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an
enemy of God.
5Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: He jealously desires the Spirit
which He has made to dwell in us?
6But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace
to the humble.
7Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy
to gloom.
10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

Luke 18
1Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
2saying, In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
3There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, Give me legal protection from my opponent.
4For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
5yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection,
otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.
6And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge said;
7now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night,
and will He delay long over them?
8I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly.
However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?

19Do not quench the Spirit;

Colossians 4
2Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
3praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word,
so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;
4that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.
